Rose woke up with the familiar feeling of not recalling anything about the day before. Though she couldn't help but appreciate the soft feeling of whatever she was sleeping on. "Wake up little lady we need to get you to the treatment hall so we can get your wounds tended pronto. Reynauld it's your turn to pack up camp, but don't even think about going through the emergency funds." When Rose opened her eyes and saw the image of a man in armor packing up a makeshift campsite everything came rushing back.
Rose lifted her sore body off the sleeping bag she was resting on and tried her best to check out the surrounding area. Rose looked up at the trees and she could see the limp bodies of the wolves that nearly killed her. "So do you have a name we could call you or should we just call you wolf girl?"
The man in front of Rose was dirty and covered in what looked like dried blood. He wore a stained red bandana, mudstained leather pants, and a slightly oversized fur coat. Rose's eye couldn't help but linger on multiple blades strapped to his chest as their blade glittered in the morning light. Beside him stood a tall man with dirty blonde hair wearing a full suit of heavily scratched metal armor. He also carried a blade, but it was much longer than the ones strapped to his less armor friend.
Both men emanated the auras of people who had been through a lot, but they were being nice. Rose didn't know how long their kindness would last but she appreciated being saved. When Rose realized she'd probably spent too much time in thought she gave them the only answer I could think of. "I can't say I remember much of a name, but I feel drawn to the name Rose so let's just go with that." By the time Rose finished talking the armored man finished packing and slung a small cloth bag her way. "Here's some food, water, and semi-clean clothes it Ms. Rose was it? It looks like those wolves ripped through your clothes before we found you. I know it's not much but hopefully, it'll last you until we get back to town."
Rose went down to grab the bag as her stomach instantly began to growl with hunger. Rose quickly dug into the bag at an otherworldly speed and began shredding her way through its contents. The bread may have been stale, and the meat may have been bland but to Rose's still developing taste buds it was like eating heaven.
When the bag was empty Rose looked up to see both men staring at her with genuine concern. Rose's cheeks went a shade of red as she wiped and remaining scraps of food from her mouth. "Thank you sincerely for the food Reynauld was it?" Reynauld slung his bag over his shoulder and lowered his head in a gentlemanly bow. "Sir Reynauld Camvion, knight and gentleman at your service. The man to your right is Dismas Rivaun. We are the men who saved you from a pack of ravenous wolves on the nightly prowl."
The man now known as Dismas chimed in, calling both of our attention to the carcasses of six relatively thin wolves currently tied to the branches of the trees in front of us. "Now that we have introduced ourselves, I have a question for you Rose. Exactly what in the hell were you doing passed out in one of the most wolf-infested forests you could find?" He asked Rose this while plunging one of his blades into the fur of one of the wolves cutting off stips of fur-covered skin.
Rose didn't know if they would believe the whole "Become a God thing" so she had to come up with something convincing on the spot. "I don't really remember how I got here. The last thing I remember from last night was hearing your voices right before I passed out."
It wasn't completely a lie and Dismas seemed to take it as the truth as he didn't ask more questions. It took a few more minutes before Dismas could get through skinning the rest of the wolves. After he was done, he rolled up the pelts both he and Reynauld escorted Rose out of the woods. The small group walked until they came upon a dirt road that stretched towards a town.
Dismas was the first to speak after we made it to the road edge. "I think It's about time we made our way back to town to get these skins tanned and sold." Rose looked at her bandaged arms only to see the same black ash clinging persistently to her fingers and hands, this was something she had to ask Alys about. Rose then stared back at the two men currently arguing about the quickest route and wondered what else this new place had in store for her.
< Don't forget about me. I'm the sole reason you're here "Ms. Rose" >
