Reynauld, Audrey and I watched as the two blood covered me beat, kicked, and sliced Dismas as their leader watched. "As I was saying before this filth tried to open his mouth, we are not here to harm anyone but the person who stole a very valuable relic of ours. The crime this man had committed against us is punishable by death, anyone who tries to protect him or otherwise will suffer the same fate." The man then pulled Dismas from the table and presented him before their leader. "You have one chance and one chance only to tell us the location of the map before we kill you and pry it from your lifeless hands."
The sounds of feint laughter could be heard escaping Dismas' bloodied lips. "And there's one thing I hate in particular about you cultists, the fact that you're all actions and no brains. Because if you've been spying on me for as long as I think you have, you should know that I sold that lost godforsaken map in a bet at the bar last night." The man holding Dismas pulled back his arm in an attempt to deliver another one of his savage attacks only for the punch to be stopped by Reynauld's gauntleted hand. "The man said he doesn't have your map anymore so if you could please exit the building and allow the rest of these innocent people to finish their food in peace."
Dismas saw this brief distraction as an opening and pulled out his new pistol and unloaded three rounds into the head of the cultist holding him into the air. Both bodies hit the wooden floor with a heavy thud leaving everyone in the restaurant in a state of shock, all except the priestess who's expressionless face melted and gave way to a twisted grin. "You have made a terrible mistake holyman now the poor people in the market to pay for that mistake with their lives."
Screams could be heard as people began rushing out of the now bruning market area. They were being chased by these strange beasts adorned in chains and patches of blood covered armor. The few people who were lucky enough to escape the flames found themselves being quickly dragged to the ground and ripped apart by these creatures. Dismas stood up and slowly loaded three bullets into the barrels of his weapon before leveling it on the priestess and pulling the trigger.
Everyone in the restaurant watched as the crystals along the barrels of Dismas' gun lit up with this sickening black energy as he fired three bullets into the woman before him causing her to slam into the wall behind her. "That's the other thing I hate about you insane freaks, your complete lack of care for human life." Reynauld reached out his hand only for it to be smacked away by Dismas. "Don't waste your words, go take care of those people outside while I deal with this bitch."
Reynauld looked over to me and Audrey nodded his head and barreled his way through the nearest window heading towards the nearest beast who had one of the children from earlier back into a corner. "Audrey you clear out as many buildings as you can and Rose I'm going to need your help dealing with these beasts!" Reynauld charged towards the animal pulling out his sword striking the beast twice.
Audrey on the other hand ran frantically towards the smoldering buildings searching for any remaining signs of life within. The first building she checked belonged to the local leatherworker. The door had been smashed open and the insides were a complete mess there were pieces of ripped up leather all over the floor and the roof looked like it was on the verge of collapse. She searched behind the counters but she found nothing but a small bag of gold coins and a couple of daggers. The roof began to creak more as large pieces of rubble broke apart and fell to the floor.
I ran forward focusing all the energy I had into the markings on my hand causing my claws to grow back where they once were and ran trying my best not to reopen the sealed wounds on my leg. Reynauld tossed the creature to the ground as I dug my claws into the spaces between the iron plates on its back. It roared out in pain knocking the both of us back with its giant paws as we readied ourselves for it's next attack.
