King's Delight

We ended up spending a decent amount of time talking to that shady vendor. By the time we made it back to the center most of the stalls that were initially empty now had lines that stretched to considerable lengths. "It looks like we spent a lot more time talking to that guy than we thought." Hearing this, Audrey pulled a circular piece of metal. "It's only five minutes past ten so I say we go get something to eat while we wait for these lines to shrink." Dismas agreed with a simple nod of his head and a low growl from my stomach confirmed my answer for me. Reynauld was just coming back from helping load carts and after a little explanation we were on our way.

It didn't take long for Audrey to lead us to a decent enough place where we could rest our legs. We ended up picking a place not too dissimilar to the place where we all woke up. The only difference was that this place was decorated head to toe in flecks of gold and silver that sparkled in the morning light. When we entered I could hear the sounds of music being played, I could smell a peculiar metallic scent in the air and it made the pain in my empty stomach that much worse. It was like I could smell each and every individual piece of meat being charred and it made me very hungry.

"Welcome to the King's Delight where everyone is royalty!" a lovely voice called out as we were approached by a woman dressed in the most overly extravagant dress I'd ever seen. "My name is Ailah and I am the owner of this fine establishment. The food is good and the drinks are even better though I must inform you that the bar isn't open until the afternoon." Ailah led us to one of the empty tables and we began ordering our food." Audrey ordered a bowl of assorted fruits, Reynauld ordered hotcakes, Dismas ordered eggs and coffee, and I settled for what I've found to be my favorite food so far meat and vegetables.

I dug into my food while everyone else enjoyed their meals with displaying a more considerable amount of table manners than myself. Audrey looked at my display and chuckled, " I know you're hungry and all but atleast use a utensil to eat your food." I looked down and my hands that were now covered in chunks of meat and mashed vegetables. "Sorry about that, it's just I can't remember the last time I've had a decent meal besides last night and when I smelled the blood in the air."

< Sorry to interrupt but I didn't know if you can tell or not but the people in the back have been staring at our table ever since the group sat down. There's three of them sitting at the table on you left side. >

I tilted my head slightly and looked at the table to my left. The people I saw looked like your average everyday people the only difference being the amount of jewelry one had on but other than that. But there was a smell emanating from the three of them that reminded me of those bandits. "Did you say you smelled blood?" Both Dismas and Reynauld looked up that comment. "Yeah and I think it's coming from that table over there."

Hearing this, one of the people sitting to my left got and stabbed Dismas in his shoulder. Dismas being caught off guard had no time to react before the other one got up and began cutting their hands.

He used his dripping blood to cover their faces in these strange markings before brandishing blades of their own holding them up to a patron and the owner respectively. The member of the group who looked the most feminine began putting on some sort of headdress made out of a heavily rusted iron. The metallic scent of the blood filled the air and as it reached me I could feel my heart beginning to beat faster and faster.

The woman's voice was cold and focused and befitting the name of the restaurant she spoke with the air of a member of royalty. "None of you have anything to worry about", her dark eyes scanned the entirety of the building until they met us. "Most of you have nothing to worry about, we are only here to get what's been stolen from us." Dismas tried to say something only to catch an incoming fist to the side of the head. "Silence street rat!"
