Arrival

The rush of the crowd halted to stop when a group of heavily decorated knights arrived causing everyone present to focus their attention on them. Even the people who were using this as a chance to steal froze in place as a knight removed her helmet and began to speak. "My name is Captain Laura Smith, my men and I have been summoned here by the Church of the Guiding Light to find and arrest anyone connected to the attack. If anyone has any knowledge to offer I suggest you speak now to avoid any punishment for withholding information." A wave of hushed whispers washed over the crowd as the remaining knights watched at attention.

< What do you make of this situation Rose? >

"I think we should tell them we were attacked by these weird people back in the bar and explain how we fought and defeated the beast summoned. It's not like we're lying and we may even get a reward out of it." "That's a good sentiment to have but trust me it's in your best interest not to get tangled up with the religious types," Audrey said as she continued to smoke. "What do you mean religious types?" "You know the overzealous, prudish, serious type of people who look down on people like me and Dismas for our lines of work." I tilted my head "What exactly is it that you do?" Audrey blew out another cloud of smoke, "I find, reclaim, and resell objects of value objects found on the dearly departed in short I'm a grave robber."

While we talked Reynaud found himself staring at one of the knights thinking about his old life, he recognized the armor and the symbols that these people were wearing. It reminded him of a time in his life that he wished had never happened. Reynuald watched as one of the customers from before approached one of the knights in the line and whispered something into their ear. "I think we should go meet up with Dismas and make our way to another part of town before we get spotted." Reynauld's voice was more focused than it was a few moments before the knight's arrival. "But won't that just draw more attention to us if they see us trying to leave all of a sudden?"

"It could give us time to heal up and come up with a plan in regards to the whole cult hunting down friend thing." Audrey and I looked back toward the King's Delight tavern which now had two knights standing in front of it talking to a visibly shaken owner Ailah. "It looks like our decisions have been made for us, Reynauld you stay with Rose while I go get Dismas." "How is your leg doing, can you do any running if things get hectic?" I put some weight on my leg and I could still feel some of the pain but most of the major injuries were gone. "Yeah I think I can manage but I'm drained so I'll be useless if a fight breaks out."

I felt a hand on my shoulder as Audrey handed me two of her daggers "I'll have to teach you how to use one of these when we're not being actively hunted until then rest up," she flashed me another smile before disappearing into the crowd heading towards Dismas. I covered my face and hid the daggers in my cloak "Let's get moving."

Dismas was still hurting from his last encounter which made navigating his way through such a large crowd a living hell, things were only made worse when the holy knights appeared looking for the heads of him and his friends. "Hope those Junia and Olivia girls aren't in any kind of trouble." A voice spoke out from beside Dismas as a girl dressed in green robes and armor approached him followed by a similar looking girl dressed very similarly. "I'm sorry did you say Junia and Olivia?"
