Chapter 8

I was taken to the head master's office .

Back at the hallway many people were looking at the now unconscious and bloodied body of josh as the paramedics came to take him to the hospital, many of the students in the crowd were shocked at what they just witnessed.

But the people who where surprised the most where Klaus' classmate , they all knew Klaus as a weak and frail bookworm who couldn't fuse with a gene .

But what they all witnessed now changed thier opinion of Klaus.

Back at the head master's office.

I sat down and waited for the head master, who was busy making some phone calls, after he finished his phone calls , he took a seat opposite mine, and in his hands was a freshly faxed report .

He gave me the report to read and said "Klaus, I have checked the cameras in the hallway , and noticed that this whole incident wasn't your fault, as it was all started by Josh, so you won't be punished but ..." as he said the last part of his sentence he pointed to the report in my hand.

I then looked at the paper and what I saw was shocking the head master then continued "You broke 3 of his right ribs and 1 of his left ribs , he also fractured the bones in his right arm and the muscle in his left knee is turn"

He then sighed and said "Klaus I don't know what you've been through during the 1 month break but this is a school and if you were to badly injure another student , I would have no choice than to expell you".

As I left the head master's office I could feel all the student's eyes on me, but I ignored them.

When I entered the class, there was a teacher already giving a lecture, I could feel everyone staring at me.

I then walked to the back of the class and as I was about to sit down the teacher said "Hey Klaus, I saw the way you fought back earlier, although you made some amateur moves , you fought like a true warrior, it's a pity that you're an invalid unless you would have become a very famous and powerful milliary personnel "

Then after saying that he proceeded to start today's class "As you may all know this upper category is for practical training with your monster gene , but before you start let me go over the basis of the gene fusion journey you all are about to embark on." he then paused for a while and drank from a glass of water that was placed on the teacher's table , agree drinking water he continued.

"There are a total of five stages in gene fusion, but each gene fusion. stage is further sub divided into three each and they are;

Bronze stage(1,2,3)

Silver stage (1,2,3)

Gold stage (1,2,3)

Black gold stage (1,2,3)

and

celestial stage (1,2,3) "

"You must firstly break through all sub division of of a stage before reaching another stage meaning when you get your first monster gene you will be at the bronze stage three and when you break through you will then be at bronze stage 2 and another breakthrough will put you at bronze stage 1 then if you where to break through again you will be at silver stage 3 and so on."

"And you can unlock your monster totem at gold stage or higher "

After he finished explaining the stages in gene fusion he took another sip of water and continued"After you break through a main stage ( bronze stage , silver stage etc) you will have to get new monster gene to be able to progress in you gene fusion ".

He said a lot about gene fusion , I managed to pick up the important stuffs.

After the class ended I made my way to the mountain, and as I was about to ascend it ,a thought popped up in my head.

If I where to leave school, and want to apply for a job, My resumé will only that of a lower category graduate, but if I were to leave school after completing the upper category, there will be a wider variety of jobs.

Although the jobs I will be able to get will be among the lowest of jobs, the only way I can get a high paying job is for me to graduate from the University, and since am an invalid I can't attend school.

So I've decided to only attend school in the morning and once it's 12:00 I'll leave and train with Bruno, Although The fight today will be able to scare off anybody who thinks they can mess with me because I am an invalid .

But as time goes on , and they become more familiar with thier monster genes, they will become more powerful than me, and if we were to get into a fight , I'll hardly be able to hold my own against them.

Not to mention the fact that they may gang up against me, so I have to become stronger if I want to survive.

As I reached the top of the mountain, I perceived the smell of blood, ang judging by its smell it seems to be fresh.

I walked towards the smell and it was emanating from a room, I opened the room and found james with an injury on his left hand , and Bruno beside him who was bandaging him.

As I was about to ask James what happened to him , I saw a black stone about the size of a basketball, it was covered in mysterious blue lines .

As I was about to ask what the stone was, Bruno said "An ancient ruin was found in the forest, a person gave us the information for a hefty price but apparently he also did the same for all the gangs in the area, as we reached the ancient rune we found there were already about 5 different gangs fighting for this rune(He said pointing to the black stone) We managed to get it but not without some serious injuries "

The moment Bruno mentioned "ancient ruin" My eyes lit up, ancient ruins are broken down and ruined structures which were mysteriously found when the earth expanded, they are very rare and dangerous because they contain traps and are the abode of many dangerous monsters, although they are worth the danger because they contain runes.

Runes are artifacts which are found in ancient ruins, ruins each have different uses but one thing is certain about runes is that they are all very powerful.

I looked curiously at the black stone Wondering what it did , but then James spoke "We are to selling rune"As he said that I looked at him shocked at what he said "I know runes sell for a lot , but what if..." I was cut short by bruno "We are selling the rune not for the money we are going to get from it but for our safety, the news that an ancient ruin appeared at the forest just out of town will spread ,and when it does the government will send a group of specialists to explore the ruins, what do you think the government will do when they realize the rune is missing?".

He paused for a while and continued"The government will most likely put up a reward for the person who can lead to the rune, and if one of our men where to betray us , The punishment for illegally looting of ancient ruins it life imprisonment ..., so keeping this rune and is the same as keeping a time bomb"
