Chapter 9

3 years later.

It's 1 week from the end of the upper category and I am now 15 years old, nothing Interesting happened, except the fact that James has agreed to let me join the blood samurais after I finish my upper category .

I left school at 12:00 pm like I did every day since the beginning of the upper category.

James told me to meet him infront of an alley on my way to the mountain, he said that a new gang came in town and thier trying to run us out of town .

This will be my first time fighting against another gang, When I reached the alley way it was larger that most alley ways as it could allow about 5 cars pass through at the same time , I then noticed that every member of "blood samurais"Were there, I immediately became tense because in the past, if there was going to be a clash with a rival gang, it was either Bruno took charge of a small group of people or James took a small group , but never have both James and Bruno went together , but this time all members of the gang was also there .

After about 3 minutes of waiting the rival gang came, thier numbers were about the same size as us if not greater, immediately both gangs set eyes on each other we started fighting.

After about 6 hours of fighting we managed to defeat the rival gang, the entire alleyway was covered in blood and corpses, I looked around to see James panting heavily and Bruno leaning on a building to support himself, this battle may have been won but our numbers have drastically reduced.

We all returned back to the mountain, the injured where all treated and those who were dead were buried and we had a feast for those who were still alive, the Feast lasted till the middle of the night.

I woke up at around 10:00 AM ,The first thing I did was to call the school and told them that I was sick and won't be able to attend school, and after about 2 minutes of lying on my bed, I stood up and took a shower.

After showering I decided to go for a jog to clear my mind, after jogging for about 30 minutes , I became hungry and slowed down , luckily for me there was a convenience store just across the road from where I am standing.

I then entered and took a pack of crisp, and a can of cola, after paying I headed back to the mountain, but as I reached the foot of the mountain, I could see people in white uniforms With a badge with an insignia of a red coloured flower with a sword sticking through it.

I immediately recognized the logo as that of the crimson knights, they are the number 2, Gene squad in the country.

After the explosion which caused Earth to expand, only about 20 percent of the new earth have been used as human settlement , There are three continents which are;

The moon empire, The nether mountains and the glory empire.

The glory empire is the country we are in currently, The moon empire was once the strongest continent among the three , but 5 years ago they tried to conquer both the nether mountains and the glory empire , and if not for the fact that both the nether mountains and glory empire joined forces to repel the moon empire, both continents would have fallen.

Gene squads, are a group of gene fusion specialist who fights monsters for resources and also defend the continent from monster waves, only gene squads are able to legally explore ancient ruins, most gene squads are owned by the government and military while few are owned by big organizations, but the crimson knights is one of the few gene squads that was owned by an organization , it is owned by RIZE corp.

RIZE corp is the leading company in the production of healing enhancement fluids and monster vials, so it's members are usually very stocked on healing enhancement fluids, and if that isn't enough reason to make people dream about joining the crimson knights , The crimson knights is the largest gene squad.

Although the crimson knights isn't the number 1 gene squad, it is easily accessible to any powerful person because it has branches in every country , unlike the number 1 gene squad the Royal Vanguards, although t hey are personally owned and controlled by the Royal family there is no public way to join it , and so not much is known about them.

Although anyone can join the crimson knights if they are strong enough , but only those who are chosen by the crimson knights can join the inner circle, while members of the outer circle are in thousands , there are only about 100 members in the inner circle.

The inner circle members of the crimson knights are recognized by gold stripes at the collar of thier white uniform, while outer circle members were a pure white uniform.

As I saw three members of the crimson knights descending the mountain, I was shocked but what shocked me the most was both James and Bruno were tumbling down the path of the mountain, as if they were kicked down.

It was then I perceived a very strong smell of blood coming from the members of the crimson knights.

Before I had time to think about what was happening, two of the three members, (One with a knife) charged at Bruno, while the other one charged at James.

Bruno's monster gene was already activated, His already bulging biceps became even bigger his muscles were also covered in a strange blue tattoo like design .(He's like escanor during the day)

His monster gene was a buff type monster gene, Buff type monster genes allow thier user to amplify his strength , multiple times.

Bruno crossed his arms together to block the the charging people, but then suddenly the person with a knife disappeared , and immediately appeared at Bruno's back.

Before bruno had the chance to turn back, his back was sliced by the knifes, Bruno groaned in pain, but then the person with the knife was charging at him again , but this time I ran as fast as my body could take me.

As the man with the knife was about to slash Bruno for a second time, I reached him and punched him with my knuckles ,which I wore earlier.

The two men who charged at Bruno were surprised, but shrugged it off almost immediately, one of the men said "I'll take care of him, and when am done I'll help you with the muscly guy".

Before I could catch my breath from running to stop bruno from being slashed again, The man who spoke immediately launched at me , stopping directly in front of me.

Before I had time to react, He threw a punch at me , and a barely tilted my head to avoid the incoming punch , but the punch still grazed my cheek.

After the punch grazed me , I felt a sudden sharp pain, before I could realize where the pain was coming from, the man released another lightning fast punch, this time hitting me directly in my guts.

The impact of the punch , sent me flying in the air, I landed on the floor with a thud , I tried to stand up but to no avail, I then tilted my head and there was a puddle beside me.

When I looked In the puddle I saw a cut on my face, It was then it struck me , The first punch the man threw at me , although it only grazed my cheek , it was able to cut my skin.

As the fact that the man's punch was more than capable of cutting my skin began to sink In, the man said "It's time to end this fight , it seems my partner is having a hard time with that muscle man", as he said the last part of his sentence, he pointed to Bruno.

As he finished talking , green scale like armour started to form around his body, The armour took the form of a mantis, and when the armour, reached his hands, it formed mantis claws.

*This man's monster gene was the mountain splitting mantis, it was only a level 5 monster gene but got it's name due to the fact that it can slice any other grade 5 monster cleanly I to two.*I thought

My body began to tremble slightly tremble, and adrenaline Began to pump into me, I managed to stand up due to the adrenaline, and was about to shout James' name so he could help me, but then I noticed that James was still fighting the guy who charged at him earlier, I then decided not to call his name again because doing so will only had to his problems.
