Chapter Seven

February 27, 2018

"Sia! Kat! The eggs are hatching!" I shouted from my room. I sat cross-legged on my bed with Vulpix, Gem, Lightning, Shadow, and Azure. I

Sia was still asleep.

"I'm coming I'm coming!" Kat hurried in, Espeon at her heels. Kat and I hardly looked alike. Pale and extremely stick thin, it didn't look like she ate at all, despite sometimes pigging out. Her long, straight blond hair reached a bit below her waist. Like Mom, Kat had blue eyes. "Could I have one?" She asked, sitting next to me.

I bit my lip, looking at Mom, who stood in the doorway. "Well, you already have a Umbreon and Espeon, and you're only eight. Depends on the pokemon's temper." I replied, hesitant.

Gem and Shadow looked at a orange egg that looked like it had red flames on the bottom.

Craaack.

A long crack appeared around the middle, and the top popped off. "Flareon!"

There was a silence. Unsettling and awkward.

"It skipped evolution stage." Mom explained to Kat, even though Kat already knew.

I lifted it out of the egg, gently laying it on its back. "Its a girl...Ember!" I yelped, as the Flareon used Ember on me.

"Careful!" Mom quipped, pulling the Flareon towards her. "I'll put a little crate up." She walked out, and I heard her tell her Delphox to put up the crate.

Next, a vapoureon, glaceon, and Leafeon, but I sent them to Professor Claire to be taken care of until I was ready.

"I wonder what the last two are..." I held up a white egg with a pink bow/ ribbon pattern around the top and bottom.

CRACK! SNAP!

It popped open, and a female Sylveon jumped onto me. "Sylveon!"

"Eeeeeeeeeeee!" I squealed, thrilled. Gently pulling her off me, I smiled wider as I looked at the pink pokemon. "She's so cute!"

Sylveon smiled, and wrapped a ribbon around my wrist. "Sylvie."

I turned bright pink, still smiling like a idiot. "I'll name her Sylvie!"

Kat facepalmed.

Sylvie nuzzled me, and smiled. "Eon!"

"Mom, can I please go on my pokemon journey? With Evey and Joce?" I pleaded. "I'll do my homework and be back every Friday for dance class!"

Mom narrowed her eyes, considering it. After what felt like forever, she nodded. "Yes. But I'll have to talk to your dad."

I cheered, jumping up and down. "YES YES YES YES!"
