Chapter 164

Lixue was racing through the sky with Zack right at her side. The other two were struggling to catch up even in dragon form. At their speed, they were rapidly leaving the desert and entered the grasslands. Looking below there were large herds of animals migrating across the land, and Zack wanted to get closer to investigate.

Given the pressing matter though he was forced to only admire from a distance. After an hour of flying, they began reaching a massive jungle, and hearing all the mysterious sounds below Zack was upset it was obscured by the canopy.

"Have you never been out here before?" Lixue asked.

"The southern territory is the only place I've explored. Recently I visited the outskirts of the neutral territory, but the farthest I've gone is over the plains. I wanted to start exploring in the spring, but right now I'm needed at home." Zack replied.

"You mentioned an egg earlier. What species is it?" Lixue investigated.

"That's still up for debate. The mother is an arachne, and you're looking at the father." Zack replied seeing a vast waterfall coming into view.

"When we land let me do the talking," Lixue suggested dashing forward.

They landed at the top of the waterfall where a large city was built into the mountains surrounding the valley. There were several dragons resting atop the mountains who have yet to reach enlightenment but are still loyal to the leaders of the Long clan. Looking around Zack noticed several ryu living among them. They had long emerald tails with red fur trailing down the back of them, brown antlers atop their head, and their forearms were covered in dense emerald scales.

Seeing a stranger in their sacred ground a large crowd was rapidly forming, and a large cerulean dragon woke up watching Zack closely. With the princess leading the way they were forced to stand down, but any fighters around stuck closely behind Zack.

"I take it humans aren't welcome here," Zack stated.

"No, we have some human tribes who bring us offerings for protection. They just aren't trusting of new people." Lixue replied.

They were walking up the side of a mountain where two jade pillars stood at the entrance to the mountain. Walking through the halls of jade they slowly made their way to a grand hall. With news of the princess's return, the chamber was filled with nobles. Sitting on a jade throne was their emperor Tian. He was clad in a golden robe and had long black hair.

"Why have you brought an outsider here?" Tian asked.

Jian cupped his hands stepping forward to address Tian.

"Forgive my outburst, but this is the man who rescued me," Jian said bowing towards Zack.

"You still spout such nonsense?"

"Bringing a human here, and expecting us to trust his word is laughable."

Tian slapped his tail against the ground as the mountain rumbled, and the sound of thunder rang through the hall. All those talking without permission lowered their heads stepping back in line.

"Please father listen to what he has to say." Lixue pleaded.

"You disobeyed my orders to remain in the palace, and you dare ask a favor from me? Guards throw this man down the mountain." Tian ordered.

"We shouldn't wait any longer. Whoever strikes first is surely to be the victor."

One of the guards attempted to seize Zack by the arm to pull him, but his body didn't budge. No one noticed this yet, but the guard. The dragon exerted more strength trying desperately to yank him from the hall. Zack glared at him with golden eyes, and the man released his grip drawing his sword. Hearing this everyone turned around seeing guards attempting to surround Zack.

"Your daughter pleads in front of you to listen, and you shrug her off. What kind of father does this?" Zack asked.

Hearing someone address their emperor in such a manner angered the guard as he swung his blade. In a flash, the guard was sent flying back into the wall. Two warriors stepped forward with lightning clad over their fists. They dashed in at incredible speeds attempted to strike Zack, but the blows hit an afterimage. Zack seized one of their arms twisting it behind the warrior's back. Seeing a warrior overpowered left everyone frozen in denial. His partner was preparing to strike Zack in retaliation, but seeing a holy orb gathered in his hand prepared to launch the warrior froze.

"I didn't come here to kill anyone, but if you force my hand I have no qualms in doing so," Zack said as his angelic form was revealed.

"Stand down," Tian said raising his hand.

"I've never seen an angel like you before, but regardless of your status your presence here violates the treaty," Tian stated.

"I'm a Nephilim, and my mother is human. Therefore the treaty dictates I can rule my kingdom how I see fit. Meaning I can go where I please, and if you didn't notice I was invited here." Zack replied appearing before Tian.

"I apologize for my actions just now, but you understand the situation is urgent," Zack replied cupping his hands politely.

"What kingdom do you rule over?" Tian asked.

"It's called Eden and is located in the southern demon territory," Zack replied politely.

"Such a kingdom doesn't exist."

"If he's lying about that how can we trust anything he says."

Wei stepped forward kneeling before Tian.

"Speak," Tian ordered.

"The kingdom indeed exists. They have a barrier capable of defending against our blasts, and their forces are formidable. There was an army of elves and even demons among their ranks. His identity is still unverified, but no angel can replicate this man's abilities." Wei replied.

"If Jian's story is indeed true it still doesn't explain his capture. They have never been able to pull something like this off." Tian stated.

"There under new leadership, and it's a fallen angel named Malachi. I personally fought with the man, and he's stronger than Samuel." Zack replied.

"Tell the men to standby." Tian declared.

Samuel was well known among their tribe and even feared among some of the warriors. They have witnessed the carnage left behind, and have even lost brethren to him in the past. With this information, the story they were told was indeed possible. Even with the new information the conflict already happened, and simply apologizing wouldn't ease the situation.

Zack volunteered to visit them and arrange a cease-fire. Hearing this Lixue argued that she be present during the meeting. Tian was against this at first, but he realized it was personal feelings clouding his judgment. With the fate of war being on the line, Tian agreed, and they were off to relay the message.
