Chapter 195

Seeing an enforcer from the Long family present all of the demons were preparing to retreat to their ground forces. To engage a force like this would take a combined force, but when they dashed towards the ground they saw chaos ensuing through their ranks. They were desperately trying to adjust their formation when the sound of a stampede was roaring through grasslands.

Alexander and Batu were leading a charge to break into their formation. Behind them was a calvary force made up of centaurs, and minotaurs all clad in armor with a golden tree embedded onto the chest. Alexander lowered his head charging forward without a shred of doubt. A loud crash was heard as a group of slavers went soaring through the air.

A large hole broke in the formation, and Batu exploited it calling his dual side glaive as he raced in. The show of sparks captivated those in the cages, and it was followed by a thick blood mist giving an ominous feeling to the slavers. The others poured in behind them, and with the mithril's weight, and durability it allowed their cavalry force to glide through the battlefield.

The minotaurs were charging alongside the centaurs, and because of this, the slavers were unable to find a gap in the formation. One is surely present, but they couldn't think clearly with Batu's archers sniping them. Attacking wasn't working, and any shield wall they attempted was shattered by the minotaurs.

"We can't let them break the second line!"

Some of the mages launched a barrage at the calvary forces forsaking their comrades for a shot at victory. Before the attack landed a massive wall halted its path enduring the might of their spells, and when it disappeared the earth came alive beneath their feet. A massive wave was sent out knocking them off balance, and sending them flying into the air.

As the mages looked around for the culprit they saw Silas with his hand flicked into the air, and a team of elven archers lining up shots. Their bows began to glow as they gathered mana rapidly from their surroundings as a loud hum rang through the battle. Arrow's rapidly formed in unison, but the one from the front caught their attention most of all.

'What kind of weapons are those?'

"Fire!" Kaya ordered.

The volley filled the sky skewering the slavers, and as the ground forces were struggling to adjust a thick mist swept the field. Appearing in the center of their forces was a band of vampires who rapidly swept by the captains trying to rally their men.

"How are they in the sun?"

"It doesn't matter ju..."

A blast of wind halved a group of reinforcements in half as the wind swirled around Madison's fingers. A few slavers attempt to retaliate, but the blood on the ground pierced their bodies as a barrage of daggers. Scarlet magic was swirling around Cassandra's hands as she took to her sister's back.

"You know how long I've waited for this," Madison smirked finishing off the slavers.

"We don't have to kill all of them," Cassandra replied forming blades from the blood as she engaged a nearby warrior.

A pair of slavers began flanking Cassandra with fire along their blades, but before they could strike they collapsed sliding towards her feet. She turned around seeing the dead slavers with kunai disappearing from their brainstems.

"They won't show you the same mercy," Haruna stated.

Haruna jumped into the air raining her kunai down to the bulk of their troops. As the slavers charged forward as the spell circles ignited. Two of them ignited explosions breaking up the force in the back, and the other bound a group of slavers in chains. Haruna dashed forward at tremendous speeds, and with a blue flash from her kodachi, the slavers' bodies slid apart.

Rapidly dashing across the battlefield alongside Haruna was Octavia. With her blade dyed in chaos, anyone stuck with the blade was rapidly withering, and with her support, Haruna could act without worry.

With Haruna's Kunai's being called back in an instant, and her new kodachi from Rolen she dashed through the enemies without stopping. Even at full force, Octavia was still trailing behind in numbers, and speed. Having always been the lead on the battlefield Octavia took it as a challenge.

"You're pretty good," Octavia smirked.

Octavia saw a group of reinforcements charging their way, and she let off a downward slash. With it came a dark blast eroding everything in its path banishing them from existence. As the blast was roaring across the land Octavia extended her hand as her eyes went black dissipating the chaos. Her eyes returned to normal as she charged forward.

'It worked. Thank you for all the help.' Octavia looked up at Zack battling with a smile.

"Focus on the mission, and refine the attacks," Haruna ordered.

Before the demons could even respond to the scene unfolding Merrick's squad surrounded them all clad in artifacts radiating immense power. Seeing a band of powerful demons, a dragon, and an angel they were frantically trying to escape. Wei appeared behind the demons cutting them off with three dragon mystics at his side. Each of their orbs had lighting forming in the center as the sky darkened.

"We only need one right?" Lilith asked Zack with a smirk while tightening her whip.

"The emperor wishes to speak with a few of them personally," Wei said as the orb in his hand began crackling.

Surges of lighting rapidly struck the demons with a barrage. The display of lightning dancing in the sky that only struck the demons caught everyone's attention. Lightning didn't stop striking until their ability to resist was gone, and their bodies lingering on the brink of death.

Before the clouds above dissipated one more strike roared down binding them in chains while keeping their muscles in a state of constant paralysis. The demons looked around seeing their forces decimated, and couldn't understand how such a powerful force got the jump on them.

"Let's finish this up so I can rendezvous with the other groups," Zack told Lilith.

"I was just waiting on you," Lilith smirked dashing forward.

Zack dashed down to the battlefield with Lilith at his side to put an end to the remaining slavers. Seeing his arrival the others rallied around Zack, and with his support, it was a swift end. Besides a handful of the demons kept for integration, and Kishi laying on the ground the slavers were annihilated.

"We received no casualties but received structural damage to some of the artifacts," Haruna told Zack.

"Have them report to Rolen in the morning for repairs," Zack replied.

While Zack was approaching the cages John came walking through the crowd of soldiers. Seeing Zack releasing the holy barrier he stepped forward.

"Thank you for saving me back there," John told Zack.

"I'm just glad we made it in time. I need to help the others, but if you wanna talk later we can." Zack replied as he undid the warding on the cage.

"I would stay here till the remaining slavers have been dealt with. If you need food or shelter just speak with someone here, and they can give you some options." Zack announced as the cages flung up.

Seeing the display of power firsthand the captives decided to linger, and find out why so many species came to their recuse. Taylor's group was a little scared to see so many monsters standing around, but seeing them uninterested in their presence Taylor calmed them.

As John and his group were catching up with each other Zack was staring at them with a puzzled look. During Zack's search for the slavers, he heard a voice calling out to him along with the same presence he detected near the tree.

Zack closed his eyes to increase his sensory abilities and felt an odd sensation radiating from Taylor's group. Trying to understand why it was different he felt someone slipping towards death.

'I can figure it out later. Need to heal them before it's too late.'
