Chapter Fifty-three(53)

"Don't worry this is the final product that was only done about a week ago after our clinical trials and tests. We told our idea to several other people in the facility and they helped us achieve it surprisingly even before the estimated time of finishing" The man explained and immediately everyone calmed down

"Okay then tell us how this one works" Miss Anna said after recovering from her shock

"Yes, on the screen here is a picture of a newly created cell we designed. The cell was designed to turn neurons into techno-organic versions of it that we just call Neuro-Transistors. When the new cell is introduced to the brain, it immediately gets to work and in a day, you start feeling its effects and in a week, it had completely altered your genome and body to handle the Neuro-Transistors just as it handles neurons just that unlike neurons, these Neuro-Transistors are capable of sending and receiving signals….. well a specific type of signal"

"I don't know whether to be dancing in joy or screaming in despair, you basically just created a cell that could either make humankind into a type 3 civilization or one that would instantly send us back into the dark ages" James said with a weird expression on his face.

At this point he was already somewhat regretting giving these people access to the Database. Just last week someone had come up with a ZPE Bomb. Of course in real life, ZPE or Zero Point Energy is the lowest amount of energy that a quantum mechanical system can have which is truly isn't much but in fictional Universes like this, that little amount of energy can destroy the sun three times over and some one had created a ZPE Bomb. Now this guy just created a techno-organic cell that, if in the wrong hands, can and will become a techno-organic virus that can be used to take control of the user's mind.

"What does that mean?"

"It simply means that you just created something that the entire world would love to get their hands on even if it means going to war" James explained

He could see the amount of international spies in Elysium increase by an extremely large amount in the next month. Of course, not that he truly cares since Paris had all of them in her sights and it would also increase the amount of people in the country. This was completely groundbreaking ,even, he had to admit that. Of course, creating the cell was easy for him but it was the fact that he couldn't even think of it that surprised him the most.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing" the guy asked, James was starting to feel as though the guy was indoors all his life

"Depends on the situation but for now it's a good thing, now tell me what are the effects you were saying one would feel after a day?" James asked

"Eh…. Speed of thought becomes faster, birth of mental database, massively enhanced intellect, minor and extremely limited ability to interface with technology, better physical coordination" the man listed

"All of you are feeling the same thing now?" Mi hiss Anna asked to confirm

"Yes Ma'am" they all replied almost in unison

"Hmm… then what about when the cells settle"

"Actually there is no difference, at that point, the original cell is killed off and all the Neurons in your body is replaced by these techno-organic ones"

"Paris!" Miss Anna called out

[Yes Ma'am?] Paris answered with her voice sounding out of nowhere.

"This new MTD whatever, is it safe?" She asked

[It is, the techno-organic cell has been scanned and tested repeatedly and no side effects have been found] Paris replied

Hearing Paris' answer, most of the people in the room relaxed. James on the other hand didn't show much emotion as he already scanned the new cell the moment the group mentioned that they had used it already. The cell was somewhat fool-proof in its making which proved that the team had spent a long time and an enormous amount of effort to design it and that it had gone through several updates to make it what it is today but despite that James was still skeptical about the scientists themselves who were designing it. They seem to be more of androids than humans, especially the assistants, James was simply worried that the leader of this small group had somehow created a means to control the minds of the people who use the cell.
