Chapter 2: Blossoming Love

Your POV

I woke up to the sun's glare in my eyes and an energetic voice screaming at me to wake up.

"GHOST WAKE UP!" A feminine voice screamed in my ear.

As I opened my eyes, I immediately shut them as I was blinded by the bright rays of the sun. I cringed as, again, the feminine voice screams at me "GET UP ITS TRAINING!".

With a groan I sat up, rubbing my eyes slightly as I let out a yawn. Standing in front of me, fully dressed in yoga pants and my jacket, stood Ela with a beaming smile.

"Come on, we're gonna be late" she stated softly, lowering her voice now that I was awake. I was thankful for that.

With a sigh I pushed off the blankets of my bed and stood out of bed, swiftly getting changed into a combat uniform. Ela watched me get changed intently, especially the part where I changed trousers in the bathroom. She was suspicious and voiced her concern.

"Why do you change trousers in private?" She asked

"Scars" I replied in a monotone voice, pulling a shirt over my head. It was blackish gray and clung to my body.

"But you show your stomach and that has scars" she pointed out to which I sighed.

"The scars on my legs are worse" i replied, tying the laces on my combat boots.

"Are they self inflicted?" She asked... the room went deathly silent. I froze in shock at her accurate guess and tried to play it off, but failed.

"Of course not, they're just bigger and more ugly"

Ela's stare had become one of a team leader. Cold and calculating. She obviously saw me freeze, it was a random shot that landed a lucky hit and now she had more information than ever. Though her face showed that of a saddened woman, like a child watching their pet be put down. She gave me a sympathetic look as I unlocked the door.

The whole way there she stared at me. It was beyond annoying but I couldn't exactly have an outburst, there were many people around and I was trying to appear neutral. That was difficult when one of the most innocent looking women of all time is basically hanging off your arm staring directly into your soul.

"Would you cut it out!" I demanded, approaching the training area entrance.

"... I'm Worried" she responded, making me furrow my brow.

"About what?" I asked

"... about you" she replied

I shook my head before walking away, entering the training area. Not before leaving her some parting words

"Don't, you don't want to waste your time with me"

Ela POV

Those parting words made my heart break. It was obvious to only me that he was hurting.. bad, but I couldn't do anything. I didn't know where to start and so I decided to start with some of my friends. Grace and Eliza.

I headed to the cafeteria and, luckily for me, they were both sitting alone eating breakfast. I swiftly sat next to them and they both immediately noticed my down trodden expression.

"Ela what's wrong?" Asked Grace in a worried tone.

"It's the new guy" i replied

"Oooh, you mean vigil 2.0? If you annoy him enough and drag him to enough social gatherings he'll open up" Grace replied.

"He's... different though. I noticed he went into the bathroom to change trousers all the time, his excuse was his scars but he is open about the ones on his back" I said, Grace seemed to get the picture.

"Oooh... that problem. At this point only Doc or Harry have experience in this type of thing" Grace replied

"Yeah but taking that personal information and giving it away like that... he will probably never trust you again" Eliza chimed, finally adding to the conversation.

"What else am I supposed to do?" I asked desperately.

"Get him to open up to you, make sure it isn't... a current problem, then talk to him about why he did it" Grace said.

"If he trusts you alot then he's more likely to get in a relationship with you, he already likes you" added Eliza, causing my blush to flare.

W-w-what?! That's insane, he wouldn't be interested in someone like me" I replied.

"Oh it was so obvious" grace laughed

"As soon as his eyes saw your face, his cold face became like that of a flustered school girl. He even blushed!" Eliza joined in. My blush got brighter. He likes me? And it's for my face, not my ass. Now I was even more determined to help him.

"Training ends soon, he's going to be having a shower. Lock the room up then confront him when he gets out, force the information out then comfort him" Eliza suggested, my blush died down slightly.

"As much as I dislike that method it is your best option" added Grace.

*ring ring*

"That's end of training, thanks for the advice I'll see you later" I said, waving goodbye.

"Bye" Grace said

"Cya" Said Eliza.

Time skip

Y/N POV

Currently, I was exhausted. After hours of training I was drained and, while a cold shower did help it didn't cure my exhaustion. It wasn't just physical exhaustion either, I was mentally exhausted too. All day Seamus introduced me too a variety of operators, one of which was Zofia bosak. Fortunately for me she didn't recognize me from our previous operation, not that I did anything bad but that operation was extremely notorious and I didn't want that type of recognition. Exiting the bathroom I came face to face with a deathly silent room with Ela staring directly into my eyes. I sighed, not this shit again.

"Hey ghost..." Ela trailed off.

"I'm not answering any of your questions" I said, sitting down on my bed.

"I want to talk about your-" she didn't seem to understand so I cut her off. I stalked towards her and gripped the sides of her head.

"I'm. Not. Talking. About it" I stated firmly, glaring into her eyes. Ela suddenly gained a face of determination and shoved my hands away before standing up. She was a head shorter than me, so it wasn't intimidating but the message was clear.

'I'm not backing down'

"Well I do, I'm worried about it" she replied, though her tone shook at the end. She wasn't intimidating, or scary, what she is... is scared.

"There's nothing TO worry about" I told her.

"Then prove it" she said. I blinked.

"... I'm not stripping for you" I replied, giving her a weird look. Ela seemed to realise what she just said because she blushed as red as a tomato.

"That wasn't what I meant" she rushed, putting her hands up.

"Okay, I'm gonna take a nap" I stated, lying back on the bed and closing me eyes. It was quiet for a few seconds until I felt a weight jump onto my stomach. I grunted slightly as I peeled one eye open to see Ela, sitting spread leg on my stomach. Her hands were placed on my chest to steady herself.

"What?" I asked, venom leaking into my voice. It was clear I was getting mad.

"Just give me something so I don't have to worry" she begged. I looked deep into her eyes, searching for a shred of malicious intent... nothing, just pure worry. I sighed, do I want to tell her?

"I tell you one thing and you leave me alone, deal?" I offered. Ela waited a second before nodding her head.

"I stopped cutting 6 months ago"

...

Silence. Ela looked a bit mortified, but she expected it.

"... How long did you do it for?" She asked, I just glared at her.

"Right, no more questions" she replied awkwardly, looking down at her hands.

I looked towards the time, half three, meaning it was two hours until dinner.

"Wake me in two hours" I told her, closing my eyes once again.

"Could be more polite about it" she told me, at this I gave a dry laugh.

"I just gave you information no one in the entire world knows, you should be a bit more appreciative" I replied, drifting off to sleep.

"You never talked to anyone about it!" She exclaimed, but by that point I was asleep.
