Chapter 19: Blazing Heat

Endeavor was standing ontop of a broken piece of rubble, admiring the battle field. Endeavor looked down revealing Natsu who chuckled, "Hey, you look like you use fire. Let's go a couple of rounds." Natsu punched his fist together releasing a short burst of fire while Endeavor scoffed, "Hmm, another person with a quirk related to fire ehh? Alright, I'm game."

Endeavor created a spear made out of fire then he threw it at Natsu who dodged it by an inch. The spear penetrated the stage making Endeavor chuckle, "Hmm, good reflexes. So you are worth the while, All Might. Watch as I show you how the number one hero shows his pride!" Endeavor jumped down making Natsu jump back a little with a smile on his face. Endeavor ran towards Natsu preparing to throw a punch while Natsu laughed, "Let's go, I'm fired up!" Natsu dodged the punch before high kicking Endeavor in his chin, pushing his head upwards. Endeavor head butted Natsu causing him to slid across the stage. Natsu lunged forward with a flaming knee which Endeavor caught with his hands. Endeavor grinned as he was slowly pushed back before tossing Natsu up into the air.

Endeavor chuckled, "You've got spirit, but can you handle my flames!" Endeavor palmed a stream of fire which went towards Natsu who roared, "Fire Dragon Roar!" Natsu roared a stream of fire from his lungs, clashing against Endeavor's flames. Eventually a huge explosion occurred causing Endeavor to jump back while Natsu flip back still in midair. Flames coated his legs as he yelled, "Fire Dragon's Claw!" Natsu came down with an axe kick that Endeavor blocked by crossing his arms, causing the stage to crack a little. Natsu flipped off before preforming another kick which sent Endeavor a few feet away. Natsu landed on his hands while Endeavor tossed a fireball at him. Natsu flipped off his hands kicking the fireball into the air where it exploded. Natsu landed on his feet while Endeavor stared at him with his cold eyes. Suddenly something strange happened, a sun could be seen rising far away.

Natsu asked, "What the hell, is that a sun?" Endeavor turned around causing him also to be shocked. Gremlin announced, "Do not be alarmed, it's not close enough to harm any of you. Please, continue fighting."

Melodias looked up to see the sun making him chuckle, "Uh oh, that's not good." Melodias ran towards Merlin who was standing in front of a transforming Escanor. Merlin informed with a smile on her face, "You've made it just in time, Escanor is about to transform."

The frail bartender known as Escanor was had transformed into a more muscular man with a more built physique. His glasses had fell off due to his transformation. Escanor looked around to see so much fighting going on around him making him ask, "Where am I?" Melodias laughed with his hands behind his head, "We're at the tournament I told you about, remember?" Escanor clenched his fist while replying, "No, I don't remember. Would you care to remind me of the rules?" Melodias nodded before explaining, "No killing, you have to knock them off the stage for it to be an elimination. That's all."

Escanor preformed a great laugh, "Ah, I see. Splendid! Merlin, my axe?" Merlin smiled as she made Escanor's Divine Axe, Rhitta. Escanor grabbed the axe out of the air while stated, "Well I'm off to get some eliminations, you two take care." Melodias watched as Escanor walked away with his axe resting on his shoulder.

Natsu kicked Endeavor who punched him right back causing them to slid across the stage. Suddenly Escanor appeared but his shirt was ripped revealing his six pack and ripped muscles. Endeavor grunted, "Who is this guy?" Escanor laughed, "Heh, it appears I am not known very well. I am the seven deadly sin's Lion's Sin of Pride, lord Escanor." Natsu mentioned, "This guy sure does think highly of himself. What do you want, a fight?" Escanor chuckled, "Hmm, a fight. I guess a warm up match would be nice to have. Sure it would be my pleasure."

Natsu ran towards Escanor who smiled upon his arrival. Natsu shouted, "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" Nastu's Fist was engulfed in flames as he punched Escanor in his stomach. Natsu gasped when he noticed his attack did literally nothing. Natsu stumbled backwards while stammering, "W-What are you?!" Escanor was still slowly growing bigger as he explained, "So you weren't listening, I told you. I am lord Escanor and your defeat is assured!" Escanor quickly hit Natsu with the handle of his axe sending him flying creating a trail in the stage.

Escanor was observing his axe while Endeavor was contemplating what had just happened. That kid's punch had no effect?! He's not human! Endeavor was sweating when he created a flaming spear which he threw at Escanor who slashed the spear in half using his axe. A shockwave from Escanor's attack sent Endeavor flying while Escanor's shirt completely ripped off. Escanor sighed, "Not even worth a warm up, pitiful." Nastu could be heard yelling while running towards Escanor, "Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!"

Natsu grabbed Escanor's arms before igniting his hands on fire attempting to burn Escanor. Nastu grunted when Escanor asked, "Was that supposed to hurt me?" Escanor jabbed his axe handle into Natsu's stomach making him cough up blood. Natsu tumbled onto the stage where he held his stomach in pain. Natsu stood up weakly while Endeavor ran past him blasting flames at Escanor who held his axe in front of him. The flames blasted onto the surface of Escanor's axe making Endeavor laugh, "Hah! Blocking my attack, so you're not invincible after at all! All I have to do is keep the pressure!"

Endeavor grunted as his flames made the transition to blue flames. A shadow covered Escanor's eyes as he continued to block Endeavor's fierce attack. Endeavor was slowly losing energy causing him to begin breathing heavily. Crap, I'm running low. Dammit, I don't want to be eliminated here! Endeavor's blue flames were slowly fading back to normal flames when suddenly Natsu roared, "Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame!"

  Natsu threw a large ball of fire at Escanor who's feet sunk into the stage amongst contact. Endeavor gasped, "You?! Why are you helping me?" Natsu panted, "Easy, this guy is really strong and I can't beat him on my own. If this guy runs wild my friends might get hurt so I'll take any chance to defeat him!" Endeavor's eyes widened in surprise before he explained, "Look kid, I've got a move that'll probably at least knock him off his feet. After that it's all up to you!" Natsu nodded his head while Endeavor bellowed, "TAKE THIS! PROMINENCE BURN!"

  Endeavor spread his arms out releasing a massive beam of concentrated fire towards Escanor. The blast hit Escanor causing his feet to leave the ground, disrupting his balance. Endeavor roared as his body was steaming, "Get him now kid!" Natsu ran towards Escanor while yelling, "Lightning Fire Dragon Mode!" Suddenly Natsu was covered in flames with streaks of yellow lightning around his body. Natsu leaped above Escanor while shouting, "Arghhhh! LIGHTNING FIRE DRAGON'S FIRING HAMMER!"

  Natsu dived down with an axe handle causing a tremendous explosion. As the smoke was clearing Natsu could be seen punching Escanor's axe while he was standing with one leg back, holding him upright. Natsu was grunting as Escanor laughed, "Hmph, that attack was definitely formidable. That's too bad my Rhitta absorbed it." Natsu grunted, "Absorbed?!" Escanor chuckled, "But of course, I used my Sacred Treasure Release ability. Charge and Fire. When you two were relentlessly attacking me with fire I thought I'd just absorb it. And I did so now witness true power."

  Natsu flipped off the surface of Escanor's axe which began glowing brightly. Escanor complimented, "You two did nothing to harm me but for your efforts I shall release everything you attacked with. Next time think twice before underestimating me. Fire!" Escanor swung his axe shinning a blinding light that Natsu attempted to block with his arm.

  The light slowly died down revealing Escanor with his axe resting on his shoulder. Escanor chuckled half heartedly, "Heh, heh. I think I overdid it. Oh well as long as he didn't die." The smoke cleared revealing a crater sized hole in the stage which Escanor stood on the edge of. Smoke was still covering one figure making Escanor raise an eyebrow out of curiosity. A white scarf could be seen blowing in the wind then the smoke cleared revealing Natsu. Escanor was generally confused making him ask, "I could've sworn I hit you, did I miss? No that can't be right, I never miss."

  Natsu could be heard explaining, "It was the old man, he threw me out of the way right before the blast hit. I wasn't sure about him at first but now I'm sure of it, he's a good guy." Escanor looked up at the bleachers seeing Endeavor layed out on the bleachers, his costume was burnt. His facial flames were completely blew out and All Might was sitting next to him. All Might chuckled, "Good job out there." Endeavor wheezed, "But I saved an enemy. I didn't mean to it's just that my body moved on its own." All Might explained, "That was just your hero instinct, can't help it. We're heroes, we fight with a purpose to protect. Being placed in a tournament such as this one just lets us have some fun. Winning isn't really important." Endeavor stared at All Might before scoffing with a smile on his face, "I guess you're right Toshinari, I'll leave this one to our youth."

  Escanor asked, "Ah, that makes more sense. So will you now retreat in fear of my overwhelming prowess?" Natsu replied, "Nope, I'm gonna fight you head on until you fall. I need to avenge that old guy, he saved me so I'll repay him by eliminating you!" Natsu was suddenly surrounded by the flames of Igneel making Escanor sigh, "Do as you wish, it's all the same to me."

*Hey guys, this chapter was really tedious in the beginning. I was like wait all these people are like immune to fire. But then Escanor was just so fun to write, he's so overpowered. But yeah expect a Fairy Tail versus Escanor next chapter. Can we get a "Praise the Sun" in the comments? Please vote and comment who you wanna see fight.
