Chapter 51

A long sigh left Elizabeth mouth as she looked out of the window of her flight. Even with a great view over the dark ocean below and the shaded clouds under the plan, she couldn't help but wonder about her current situation of things. She's been around the world more then a few times, and have met being that the average human would either be amazed or terrified to see. Begin a negotiator between to waring nation and so, so, much more that she could right a book about it. Yet she never thought parenting would be the hardest.

Another sight left her mouth that caused her breath to become visible on the glass. She then took her eyes off of the night sky to look towards the cream colored inside of the private jet her and Martha was riding in to Japan. It was one investment she did not mind spending a little money on. It was nice and quiet, and gave her time to think about plans, reading, spending time with Martha or just decompress for life.

She heard then heard a sharp breath from Martha that made her look down at her daughter. A soft titter came from Elizabeth as she almost forgot Martha was resting her head on her lap.

"Sleep well, sweetheart." Elizabeth softly said as a smile came across her face. She gently pushed the hair that covered part of Martha's face to see her better. She knew Martha didn't do well when it came to planes, so she always gave her something to sleep most of the trip away. "You're my big baby," Elizabeth spoke as she heard a light snore come from her daughter.

Her attention was then drawn to a little device on a stand in front of her. It was roughly the size of a bobby pin, but resemble a chip in a lot of ways. It was a personal gift from Henrietta as a way to deal with her problems. She could still hear voice from the conversation she had.

"Here. Take this as well," Henrietta told Elizabeth as she passed her the tiny device in her gloved hand.

A puzzled and confused look came across her face as she looked at the little device. "I don't think I see anything like this before. What is it?," She said looking her niece in her eyes.

"It's a device my mother invented when she wanted to keep an eye on me during my "early years." A la mierda esa perra sobre protectora," she said slipping back into her native tongue when discussing her own mother. She could see a smile cross Elizabeth lips as she tried to hold back her laughter.

A sigh left her mouth as she couldn't help but giggle as well. "Presta atención, Harmana. She called it "Nanny." It's a device that allows you to sync your magic with someone to allow a mental link to be formed. It's a one way link to be more specific. You will be able to see and hear every thought they have at that moment, but they can't read yours." Henrietta explained. A numbed frown came across her face as she found out her mother had placed this device on her, when she snuck away.

"So it's like a monitor? Why are you giving it to me?" Elizabeth asked as she looked at the little thing.

"Kinda. Outside of allowing you to monitor someone and know their movements, you can use it to almost instantly teleport to their location at the cost of good amount of your mana. For someone like you, it would only make you nausea from the sudden action. But that's just for dire situations." She emphasized the last part by looking Elizabeth sternly in her eyes. She then continued. "Mother used it on use when we were younger to make sure we didn't do anything reckless. I use it to make sure my little flor pequeña is safe, when I do dangerous mission or just really far away from her."

"And your implying I should use it on my son?" Elizabeth said quickly putting together what she was getting at. She felt a guilty sensation fill her stomach as she thought of how much power that little device had. "I don't think I can take it." She said shaking her head a little and trying not to lock eyes with it.

"I'm not saying you should, but take it as a just incase situation. If you feel like something is wrong with him just tap into it to take a quick peek. No harm in that." Henrietta said while giving her a slight shake of her head. She then gently took Elizabeth hand and placed the small object in it and closed her hand. "If you don't want to use it, that's fine. Just promise you will use it, when it's necessary. It's our little secret."

Elizabeth let out a sigh as she looked Henrietta in her blue eyes. She didn't say a word, but her eyes were enough to give the bronzed sun kissed woman her answer.

Back in the present moment, she found her eyes looking at the gadget as if it had committed a heinous crime. She could feel her left hand shake slight and balled it into a fist to stop it. This small device made her question everything she stood for as a mother, yet she wanted to make sure her son would be safe.

"Would it be wrong? Would he hate me for doing it? What would I say if he found out? I would be doing it for his own good." Elizabeth thought to herself as these thoughts began to increase. She placed a hand on the small table next to the device and exhaled deeply.

"I still have a few hours before we get close to the destination. I should just relax for now and deal with it later." She told herself outloud before fixing her seating to be a little more comfortable and lay her head back for a moment. She slowly began to breath in and out as she allowed her body to relax for the night. With Martha still laying her head on her lap, Elizabeth began to stroke her head. Her mind then thought her baby boy and her best friend. She hoped they were alright on their own for the time being.

Back at home:

Lucas was breathing heavily as his whole body began to burn and ache from the long run to the safety of home. He was still holding onto Amay, who hasn't stop shaking yet. As he came to a stop, his body knelt down to allow Amay to get down and stand fully up herself.

Amay didn't say a word and just got up and went straight towards the porch like. She couldn't help but hold her own shoulders and looked around at each dark area around her. Her eyes then landed on Lucas, who was trying to find his doorkey. "Can you hurry up?" She asked in a snappy tone.

"I'm trying my best." He told her in a stern voice. He finally got the door unlocked and felt a slight push from Amay as she nearly bolted into the house. "Jesus, Amay." Lucas said catching his balance from nearly toppling over.

As soon as she was in the house bathed in the light, a wave of relief began to come over her. The feeling was so great that she almost fell to her feet, but a sudden sharp came from the middle of her chest. It felt like someone was stabbing and twisting a knife in it at the same time it started to burn. Amay began to grip at and nearly claw at her scar. Black blood began to leak from her scar and from her nose. She ached in pain as her finger gripped the floor as she tried to get it under control.

"Are you alright!?" Lucas said as he quickly went over to check on her. Before he could touch her Amay lashed out at him.

"DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME, ELIZABETH!!" Amay snarled at him as she was back in her true form. Her pupils had dilated to small dots as she was unsure of what he was going to do. She was breathing heavily as she wasn't sure what was going on.

Her sudden change caused Lucas to fall back a little as fear went down his spine. He could see it in her eyes. "She's scared." He told himself as he needed to get himself together. He slowly began to approach her again, this time without touching her.

"It's okay. I'm not my mother. I'm not going to hurt you." He said in a low voice. He was scared, but he couldn't imagine how scared she was right now. He slowly reached his hand out in an attempt to have her take it. "Please let me help you."

Amay paused for a moment as she looked at his extended hand. She slowly reverted back to her more human look with tears in her eyes. She hesitantly lifted her right hand and brought it up to his. She pulled her hand back for a moment as if she was having second thoughts, but slowly took his hand.

Lucas slowly stood up and gently helped Amay back to her feet. He then walked with her too the kitchen and asked her to take a seat at the table, while he looked for their first aid. After successfully finding it under the sink , he quickly went back to Amay. "Okay I can do this." He thought to himself as he felt his hand began to shake. He was nervous and fearful about this. His eyes then went to Amay who quietly sat in the chair in front of him. Her dress had a large black stain going down it from her wound.

"Amay. I need you....." He hesitated for a moment on what he was about to say or rather ask her. "I need you to lower dress, so I can see your scar." He found the words leaving his mouth and made him blush red. "Please, I will not look."

Amay didn't say anything as her face slightly blushed as well, but she did what he asked. She used her right hand to unzip the back of the dress and allowed some of the upper part to fall. While using her left hand to keep her dress from fully falling, she paused for a moment to look back a Lucas. She noticed he was holding cotton wipes. He stayed true to his word, so she fully lowered her dress until it was hugging her waist. She quickly moved her hair so it at least covered her chest. "You can look now." she said in a low monotoned voice.

Lucas felt his heart skip a beat as he heard her voice. With a sigh, he turned to face Amay. He was glad her hair did cover majority of her chest as he could see her scar fully now. "Okay. I can do this. Remember what mom did." Lucas told himself as he knelt down to Amay's level to better examine her scar. He first used the cotton balls to get most of the black blood up to see the wound fully. It was barely open and he watched as Amay's body was slowly closing it up.

He quickly backed up and grabbed the alcohol wiping pads. He couldn't help but look back at the wound and then at Amay who was watching his every move. "This will sting a little, but it's going to help make sure it doesn't get infected. Okay?" He explained to her.

"Okay." she said giving him the go head. She tensed up the moment the wipe touched her fresh and healing wound. Her claws gripped the bottom of the chair from the sudden pain as she held her composer.

"Okay." Lucas looking over her scar as it was finally clean and was nearly fully healed "Would you like a-"

"Why do you care so much?"

"Huh?" Lucas said not fully hearing her. "I didn't quite hear you?"

"I said why do you care?" Amay said again with anger in her voice. "Why do you always want to help me? Do I not scare you? People don't care this much without wanting something in return. So why are you helping me?" Amay said with tears in her eyes.

Lucas could feel her anger in her voice, and it made me take a step back. He then sighed. "Honestly, I am scared of you. However after spending a whole month and a half with you, I'm not as scared. Sure there are moments when you do scare me still. But, when I look into your eyes, I remember all those fun times and and those moments when you allow yourself to feel sad. Those things show me you're not a monster." He said standing straight up and looking away from her.

"The reason why I help is because you helped me a lot." He continued. "From that night onward, I wanted to be stronger and better then I was before then. I owe you so so much and I don't mind. As long as you're happy and having a good time, that's fine with me."

"Then why do you care so much?" Amay said standing up from the chair while holding onto her dress. She wasn't expecting his answer, and it frustrated her. She began to stamer for a moment before she finally found what she wanted to ask. "Earlier when we were leaving that house what where you going to say?" She said looking away from him with frustrated look on her face.

"I care...because I like you." Lucas confessed to her. "I was going to say that you look beautiful when you didn't wear make-up. It's stupid but I do like you. It's not the only reason why I care but it's-" His words were cut off by a soft feeling on his face. He turned to see that it was Amay looking him in his eyes.

"You're such an kind idiot." Amay said looking into his soft brown eyes. She could feel her heart began to beat fast as they locked eyes for a moment.

As they looked into each other's eyes, they both leaned in close and closed their eyes as they met for a kiss. Amay straighten her body and leaned on her tippy toes to wrap her arms around his shoulder and placed her right hand in his hair. She didn't realize nor cared that her dress feel to the ground and left her standing there in her a pair of shorts. She could feel Lucas hands guide up her body before resting on her face.

They pulled away from each other for a split moment, before looking at each other's face. Their hearts beat in sync for a moment as they both didn't have to say anything to each other. Lucas used his thumb to gently wiped away one of Amay's tears, before they went back in for another intimate kiss. Amay found feel Lucas pull her in closer, and felt her own body move to be closer to him.

All the feelings she had seemed to float away as she wanted to be closer to him. She felt as if his kisses and his touch were going to cause her to float away. It was like a drug she didn't want to stop. As they took another break, she removed her hands and held Lucas right hand. She gently kissed it and locked fingers with him. She then looked back at him and began to smile a little. The next thing she did, caught Lucas off guard. She began to walk while still holding his hand and began leading him to his bedroom.

Lucas hesitated for a moment, but follow behind her without saying a word. He was nervous, but felt like he wasn't the only one as well.
