Awkward Moments And Scolding From Him

The first thing Xavier could do when he saw a very frightened looking Tashina holding a shard of glass was to pull her into his side and embrace her deeply.

He was shocked when she opened her arms and buried herself in his chest, he was even more bewildered when he felt warm wet tears on his shirt.

"Tashina? Are you alright?" he whispered.

"How could you do this to me? You left me all alone. You didn't even care if I was alive or not!!" she pushed him violently in his chest and ranted as tears fell from her eyes.

He stood there, looking at her with wide open eyes, it was less than a second before the alpha let out peals of laughter. He even clutched his stomach to show how funny this situation was.

Tashina's face went pale red as she was angry and both embarrassed by the way Mr. Xavier was blatantly laughing at her.

He suddenly stopped laughing and stood up straight. He took step by step as he moved towards her. She tried to move back but the intensity of his eyes stopped her from moving.

"Did you really think I would leave you?" he asked in a hush tone and goosebumps filled her skin from his deep voice.

"Foolish girl" he chuckled lightly as he held her shoulders.

"I wouldn't dare leave you even if I could" he brought her hands which still held the glass and threw the glass on the floor. Slowly, he brought her hands to his lips and left a tiny peck on it.

So tiny that she barely felt it.

He cleaned off her tears as a small smile slipped through his lips.

Xavier was elated that she felt so devastated because she thought he had left her. His angel really was one of a kind, for her to think that he could leave her was quite funny and hilarious to him.

He clicked his tongue when he noticed the bruise that was forming on her forehead from the fall.

"Let's get that cleaned up" she followed him quietly to the bed and sat like an obedient girl with her eyes downcast.

She didn't know how to face him, thinking about it now, she realized that her reaction was a bit overboard.

A bit? You overreacted, Tashina.

She had the sudden urge to hit her head when he came with the aid kit box and sat besides her.

"Are vampires always like this? Healing from wounds and then inflicting others?" he remarked sarcastically.

When she didn't answer him, he frowned.

The Tashina he knew was never this quiet.

When he looked down, he saw the way her cheeks were very red and couldn't resist the urge to pinch her cheeks hard.

"Oww!! What was that for?" she jolted from the pinch.

"Oh, she talks!" he stated with sarcasm fully laced in his tone and she glared at him.

"What is wrong with you? I left because I had important work to do but what I didn't imagine to see was this mess" he pointed at the broken objects on the floor and she looked down with shame.

"I know I made a mistake by going out without telling you but you didn't have to punish the room like this" he continued scolding her.

"And next time, try not to put too much energy into the mind link, it sucks energy and you didn't have much to begin with which explains why you fainted and got yourself injured, dumb pire" he flicked her forehead at the end of it.

"Are you done scolding me?" she said, quietly.

She couldn't remember the last time she had been scolded for behaving irrational, and she thought she has grown up and was now mature.

She could literally feel her father, King Regor, scoffing at her.

When she was a child, she hated when they scolded her for misbehaving, especially when her father scolded her, she would always tell him that she was grown up and didn't needed any scolds from anyone.

Her father simply laughed and said 'The day you realize that you have never really grown up, I will be behind you, laughing at what you said today'

Xavier chuckled and pulled her to his side to raise her head with his hand.

"I am scolding you so you wouldn't make the same mistake again. You got just a small wound on your head but what about next time?"

"I would never leave you. I will be by your side and I assure you that you are going to get tired of me but even then, I would stay by your side like a piece of gum" he said it so lightly that she believed it was only a joke to make her smile.

Little did she know, that was the most sincere thing he had said to her since they met.

"There it is, that beautiful smile" he pointed at her smile and that little action made her laugh out loud.

"You don't look pretty when you cry" he muttered and she glared at him, playfully.

"Then you better leave a note and don't go all AWOL with me" she rolled her eyes.

"Yes, ma'am" he saluted.

"Where did you go by the way?" she asked with full curiosity.

"I was having problems at home so I went to resolve them" he told her the half truth.

"Home? You don't live here?" she furrowed her eyebrows.

"What? No? Why would I isolate myself from the entire Pack? What am I? A runaway fugitive?"

"You just asked five rhetorical questions in one sentence" she stated.

"Is there a Shakespearean law that says five rhetorical questions shouldn't be asked in one sentence?" he snorted.

"....."

"Thought as much" he smiled.

"I don't live here, this is just a secret place where I come when home gets too suffocating"

"OK, did you resolve the problem?" she asked with raised eyebrows.

"Pretty much" he shrugged.

"You are answering my questions very readily today" she snickered.

"Well, don't want you going all angry and destroying stuffs, Huh?" he scoffed and she brought her hand to hit his chest.

"Did you just hit me?" he asked with a smirk.

"Yes, I am going to keep on hitting you until you stop teasing me about earlier"

"Hmmm, on a condition"

"What's that?" she moved a little closer to hear him out.

"Tell me why you were so sad because you thought I left you?" he looked into her eyes and asked her sincerely, all jokes and humour had faded from his face.

"I...." she licked her dry lips.

"You...?" he taunted and moved closer to her.

"I don't know" she admitted and looked down at her hands as though it was the most fascinating thing on earth.

He drew closer to her and put her head on his chest and smiled because she didn't refuse his touch.

"You don't have to say anything, I understand, my angel"

Although she didn't understand what he meant by that, she hugged him tighter as though he was her lifeline.

And in a way, he truly was her lifeline.
