After leaving Old Flador's place, Prince Lane proceeded towards the outskirts of South-Mairak. The deep red vial buried deep into his pockets.
When he reached the bottom of the Borders Mountain, he paused and looked up the terrifyingly tall mountain.
He felt a sharp pierce stroke his heart as he began to imagine the way and manner his sister was attacked right here by a beast.
"I am doing this for her" he implored and began climbing as he clenched his fist.
The harsh wind was enough to drive anyone away from this unbefitting weather but the determination and tenacity of Prince Lane was much stronger than the wind.
With his sister in his heart and mind, he marched up the Mountain. When he reached the other side of the Mountain which was separated by a thick wall, he stood, observing his surroundings.
He put his backpack aside and took out the Forbidden from his pocket. He has never seen but only heard from the fairytales his nanny told him about this dangerous substance.
But he knew, this was the only way to get her back.
He opened the bottle and gulped it all in a single go without hesitation. When the substance absorbed completely into his body, the signs began to show.
First, he started growing long and dirty claws from his fingernails, then his body bent into an abnormal position as the bones were beginning to transform.
The sickly sound of the breaking and crushing up of bones to make a new one filled the dense air and he groaned in immense pain as his face was a pale shade of blue.
For a second, he felt as though the life was being sucked out of him but when he fell down and his breaths turned rugged, he was relieved he survived the process.
Gradually, huge lumps of hair began to grow on every part of his body and he looked up in fascination.
His body was exactly the same, just a little muscly and bulky but he did felt different. He used his tongue to feel his fang but was shocked when he didn't feel any.
Prince Lane started to chuckle, he had really been scared about what was to happen to him when he took the drug so he expressed his joy spontaneously.
All of a sudden, a deep howl came from somewhere and he looked around before he realized it was only him and shaked his head at his foolishness.
He was ready to step in and nobody would dare to stop him.
He climbed over the wall with ease and landed smoothly and then went down the mountain.
Upon the end of the mountain, he started seeing werewolves walking around the area and he blended easily with the Pack.
When he reached the market, he saw a pub and quickly went inside and sat on a chair.
"What would you like to have, sir?" a curvy waitress came to take his order with an over flirtatious smile.
"Just a glass of whiskey, my darling" he smiles at her and she literally melted at the cute gesture.
"Um, excuse me?" He called her back and she returned a little too eagerly.
"Yes, sir" she brought her head down for him to whisper into her ears.
"Have you heard of any vampire being brought in the kingdom?" he whispered as he watched his surroundings.
"What?! Great Heavens, there have no such news, sir" the girl's eyes widen and she left to bring him his order.
"Get out a full kettle of your best drink in the land!!!" four loud men came in and sat at the opposite seat of Prince Lane.
"Let's get some drinks before we reach the castle to give the Alpha his goods. I am so tired!!" one of the men groaned and Prince Lane's ears raised at the word of Alpha.
These people are headed towards the castle! He thought as he quietly observed them from behind.
After some minutes of contemplation, he stood up and went to the table the four men were seated and nearly drunk already.
"Good evening, gentlemen" he greeted and four pair of eyes rested on him.
"Good evening, young lad. How may we help you?" one of them said.
"I am feeling exceptionally good tonight because my wife would be giving birth soon to a bouncing baby boy and I feel like spending some money. Would you care for some free drinks?" He knew he had already won their hearts when he mentioned free drinks with the way their eyes shone vividly.
"Well, congratulations my friend. I am Sir Orldo. What's your name?" one of the men exclaimed amicably.
"Namere, call me Namere" he smiled.
----------
Prince Lane jolted up and looked around his surroundings. Everywhere was keenly silent except for the large snores of the four wasted bodies sprawled in every direction.
He moved towards one of them and carried him on his shoulders with ease as he moved towards a deserted area. He put the man down and took off his clothes, leaving him in only his underwear and tied his hands, legs and gagged his mouth.
The man began to regain consciousness and started squirming when he noticed that he was tied up. He looked up at Prince Lane with confusion and tried to scream for help but it didn't make a difference because he couldn't be heard by anyone.
Prince Lane took out his golden pocketwatch from his pocket and began swinging it in front of the man's eyes as he followed it.
"You are just a mad man with no purpose in life. You will go around the village and scream and dance and do whatever a mad man does. You never met me here, is that understood?" As Prince Lane whispered all these into the poor man's ears, he began falling into a deep slumber and fell down on the snow.
Satisfied with his work, Lane stood up and headed towards the other three men who were already starting to regain consciousness.
In the matter of a second, the prince hit them all on the head and made them look and follow the watch as he swinged it before their eyes.
"I am Namere, the apprentice of Sir Orldo. Unfortunately, sir Orldo was unable to come because he came down with a fever so I am delivering the goods instead. Now, let's head towards the castle" the men stood up and followed him like moths attracted to light.
They entered the cart and proceeded towards the castle by Prince Lane's orders.
Ever since Prince Lane was a kid and diagnosed with a severe heart disease, he lost all the will to live anymore because he heard his doctor telling his mother that there was no chance he would survive it.
When Tashina saw her brother so depressed, she was devastated, she knew she had to do something to show him that life was too precious to give up on so easily.
So the young princess bought a golden pocketwatch for her brother and taught him a little secret on how to hypnotize anyone just with a few chants.
Young Prince Lane, so fascinated by the power of the watch, he never let go of it and began showing some signs of life again and the princess was very happy.
As he grew up, he mastered the art of hypnosis and became the most famous hypnotizer in South-Mairak. He was often called to police stations with hidden identity so he could hypnotize criminals to confess to their crimes and he enjoyed it.
This little secret between the siblings was kept hidden from their mother, Queen Sania because they knew if she were to find out, nothing good were to come out of it.
Prince Lane's heart leaped at the thought of seeing his sister again and he let out a small smile.
Little did he know that a figure was behind the shadows watching him hypnotizing the men.
