Running Away And Living In Seclusion

Her name was Kiranzi, fondly called by her loved ones as Kiki. A brave, confident and chic personality was her strength in the harsh world she had to face from such a young age.

When she stood, her long slender body was a striking feet of five and eight inches. Although her curves was limited, the way she carried her lean, long limbs was far more beautiful than any curves her peers possessed.

Her brown wild chocolate hair was always put into a braid because she hated whenever her wild strands gets into her view and when she looked up at you, the grey mixed with green orbs was formidable.

Well, such marvelous beauty but yet a sad story was the prologue of her life.

Hiren Reigan was the wanted vampire in history, his crimes were quite too numerous to tell but all of it consisted of shady deeds that society deemed illegal.

While on the run, Hiren met a bar waitress and fell in love, the product of their love was little Kiranzi who later lost her mother at the tender age of three.

With the love of his life being stripped off him, the devasted Hiren took his life and left his baby with his mother who had no other choice but to raise Kiranzi as her daughter.

But as deep as a scar could get, the ones that Hiren directly or indirectly hurt during his vagabond came back looking for revenge and took out their anger OK little Kiranzi and her old Nana.

Because of that, Kiranzi and her old grandmother have been on the run for the past century, hiding from the loan sharks her father borrowed money from.

And the apple never falls far from the tree. Kiranzi, just like her father, ended up mixing with the wrong crowd who engaged in illicit deeds so she could earn money to feed her aging grandmother.

Which made turn into this dark, insolent person that everyone feared in her town. She became completely shut off from society life.

Unable to stay in South-Mairak anymore because of the constant attacks from her father's enemies, Kiki decided to take her grandmother and fly to the werewolves realm for safety.

She took The Forbidden and disguised herself and her old grandmother as one of the homeless werewolves so they could get food, clothes and shelter for free.

They began a new life in the North-Eastern Pack as too different individuals, free from debt and fear. The question was will they be able to hide forever?

"Get up!!" she rampantly shaked the flabby arm of the old lady lying and snoring loudly on the bed.

"Get up, Nana!" With frustration at every corner of her ovally shaped face, she pushed the untamed curls out of her face.

"Get up, you wrinkled sack of a person!"

Nana brought out her right hand and shoved up her middle finger towards her granddaughter's direction while her head was still buried deep into the blanket.

"Oh, come on, Nana. Don't you know what day it is?" she rolled her perfectly dark eyeballs and brought her hand up to braid her hair.

"Today is market day and we need to be there as early as possible so we could get the best quality of goods at the cheapest price, Nana. Get up, will you? I warned you against drinking scotch the night before market day but you never listen, do you?" she ranted as she walked around the room, putting on her jacket, taking her grocery bag and stepping into her black, worn out ankle boots.

"Nya, nya, nya. If there was a competition for nagging at old people, you would take the trophy without doubt" said Nana as she finally sat up and stretched her old, cracking bones.

"Ugh, sometimes I wonder if you raised me or it was the other way round" Kiki muttered under breath and before she stepped out of the room, her Nana quickly shouted.

"I heard you!!"

"Good morning, Mrs Kentucker" Kiki greeted her grumpy neighbour in the most polite tone Nana taught her.

The old Mrs Kentucker grumbled under her breath and stepped into her house without even lifting an eyelash towards the young lady's way.

They lived in a government built residence which is strictly for the poor, old and homeless. It's an apartment with five rooms adjacent to one another in a single building.

Kiki and her Nana have been living here in seclusion for almost five years now and they haven't been happier with the free water, clean toilets and well ventilated rooms.

They are given allowance every month by the government to cater for their secondary needs.

Although food were served on a daily basis, Kiki still bought groceries to prepare food for her sensitive grandmother's taste.

She washed her face from the tap outside and quickly cleaned the water before her face froze due to the enormously chilly weather in North-East outskirts.

Knowing Nana would take forever to get ready, Kiki stepped out of the compound and walked down the not too crowded streets just to kill time.

Kiki frowned her ruffled eyebrows when she noticed that the pub opposite the residence she lives in wasn't open.

The owner, Mr Loher, was a very punctual and accurate man, he never failed to open the pub as early as he could so she was surprised that he wasn't here yet.

When Kiranzi noticed that she couldn't continue the same line of business she did in South-Mairak here, she had to start working as a pub waitress to save up money for her and her grandmother's future.

The money they received every month was barely enough after she bought groceries for her Nana and used it for little errands here and there.

So she took the job of a waitress in Loher's Drinks so she could save up money in case they will have to run away anytime from now.

Since she was due for the night shift today at the pub, she was about going back to check on her Nana when she saw a man dragging another unconscious man somewhere far from the eyes of the people.

With her guided instincts, she followed him slowly and hid behind a tree when he stopped in a completely deserted area.

What her eyes saw, she couldn't believe. The young man putting on a black hoodie to cover his face took out a watch and began swinging it while muttering words she couldn't hear due to the far distance.

Suddenly, the other man fell asleep again. Kiki could have called somebody nearby for help but her frozen legs couldn't move an inch as her entire body was shocked from the magic the young lad possessed.

She also followed him when he went back to where he first came from and performed the same spell for three other men but instead of the men to fall unconscious like the other man, they stood up and entered a carriage with the magician.

Kiranzi was very confused. Her Nana did tell her about stories of powerful magicians and the powers they possessed but she always believed it to be just a stupid story her Nana crafted.

Never in any of her wildest daydreams did she thought she would be a witness to such magic, at the front seat for that matter.

Confused about what to do now, she went back to the other unconscious man and quickly untied him.

"Kiki, where have you been? I was looking everywhere for you!" Nana exclaimed when she finally found her wandering granddaughter.

Nana gasped when she saw a stranger on the floor, lying unconscious as her granddaughter removed ropes from his body.

"Goodness, Kiki. Wasn't it too early to kill someone, my dear? We could have done that this night!!"

"I didn't kill him, Nana. He's unconscious. Just stop talking and help me get him up!"

"Why do I have to live this long to suffer like this?" grumbled Nama as she helped Kiki take the sleeping man up and over her shoulders.

"You have a knife and you know where your vein is located, just slide the blade through it and it would be all over" the dark sarcasm that emitted from her statement was so deadly that Nana had to stand and wonder why she raised such a child.

"Whoever that bastard was that did this, I will find his ass and torment him for spoiling my mood this early" she swore as they took him to the residence.
