Chapter 12: Another character

The kids rushed outside as they went home. It was afternoon, I walked and sat on a swing in the school's playground I glance down and cried. I saw a glimpse of a figure in front of me, I looked up and a little girl looked at me.

"Why are you crying? Are you okay?" she gently asked. I glance down as I replied, "No, I failed on an exam and.."

"And my brother would kill me, he told me to have a great score for this exam. He helped me to study and.." I sobbed, crying. "And.. he told me if I don't have a great score, he will leave me."

The little girl looked at me with pity in her eyes, she sits beside me and started to swing. "That's a bad brother would do."

Tears streamed down my face, I don't want my brother to leave me. He is the only person I have right now since Mom and Dad died. She stopped swinging and looked at me, "I know your brother would understand about it. If you have your next exam.."

I looked at her, "You can do it!" A little girl said, smiling. I wiped my tears, "Believe it!"

She hops off the swing, "I should go now. You should go home too"

I glanced down, "No, I want to stay here for a while"

"okay" she said with a smile. "You can do it, okay?" and she turned her back on me, walking.

A 6 year old me that was crying because I failed an exam, that little girl is the reason why I'm always motivated. The reason why I should believe in myself.

"I hope we could cross our path," is what I said back then as I watched her slowly walks out. I join auditions but failed a few. That little girl's words always reminds me that I can do it. I join auditions and got debuted for few films. As I was being offered for a film, I didn't hesitate to turn it down. I went to the studio and I can't believe it.

I can't believe it that I'll be doing the film with her in it. That little girl is in front of me, in front of the camera, in front of all people. Back then, it was all a dream, and now... Daphne is in front of me. It's been days since Daphne and I had already filmed scenes and talking casually.

"Huh? What is it? Oh, I'm sorry. I was.." shaking my head, "thinking something"

"Oh, what I was saying is seems you are good and versatile of your character," Daphne said, smiling. I can feel a subtle red tint on my cheeks as Daphne said that. Why she is so beautiful saying that, I'm now embarrassed.

I smile at her, "Oh, I've watched many dramas so.. I applied them and yeah"

A sudden knock is heard on the door, "Excuse me" Daphne said as she stood up and open the door herself. A blonde quiff haired guy appeared with so much fashion sense, she smiles as the man she loves hugs her, Nathaniel.

"I never thought you'll come inside my trailer and I also thought that you are...." Daphne stated, smiling.

"I'm what?" Nathaniel asked as his hand pulled her waist, I wish I was Nathaniel.

"Busy"

"Oh, I miss my beautiful and cute girlfriend," he replied and kissed Daphne's cheeks. Daphne giggled and pinched his cheeks, "You are so cute"

I want to get out of this trailer, I can't stand the sight of them being so sweet together. I'm... jealous. Jealous of how Nathaniel had the girl that I like.

"Oh, Bry—"Nathaniel's sentence is cut off as the staff busted through Daphne's trailer door.

"Oh, Nathaniel. You're here" a staff said after opening the door and saw Nathaniel. She looked at me and Daphne, "Anyway, we're all set"

Daphne nodded and kissed Nathaniel's cheeks, "Gotta go now." and stormed out. Nathaniel watched the girl he loves and looked at me as if judging by my looks as I stormed out.

"Okay, cut!"

Daphne and I stopped as the director said cut.

"Mr. Flynn, what's wrong? Act naturally and why did you forget the lines you had?"

"Sorry"

As we redo some scenes, I don't know but I felt anxious as Nathaniel watch Daphne and me together, acting in front of the camera. He may be Daphne's boyfriend but I shouldn't be anxious. After we did some scenes, I watched Daphne as she went to Nathaniel. They talked, Nathaniel looked at me and I averted my gaze. I saw a girl. Her hair is dyed pink with purple streaks, standing by the side of the director.

"Gather around, I'd like to let you all meet a new character for the film," the director said as he sits on the chair. The staff and along with Nathaniel and Daphne gathered.

"So, I'd like you to meet Miss Tresha"
