THESky : You could've told us early. It was kinda short notice.


KSnow : Then what? you guys would come along?


KSnow: You guys know you can't do that!


KSnow: I'm not abandoning you, despite what you think. I'm not going to shirk my responsibility. It's just me taking some time off.


The light filtering through the curtains woke me up before the alarm on Monday morning. Thanks to all the unloading over the weekend I slept like a rock which resulted in a zero nightmare – zero dream sleep. I turned off the alarm before it rang and hopped out of bed. Grabbing my towel, toiletries, and clothes I walked to the bathroom for a quick shower.


I stared at myself in the mirror, my grey eyes scrutinizing every detail of my 'normal' look. I hadn't dressed normal, been normal in my sixteen years of existence – EVER and now here I was standing in my home wearing frayed jeans, a grey tank top, and converse' with zero makeup on my face and my hair in a messy bun. I turned in circles, examining myself a few times. With a sigh, I turned to pick up my black backpack and then froze.


My neighbor's window which faced mine was open. And all I could focus on at the moment was the well-sculpted tanned back visible through it. Tattoos covered his upper back and down his arms and something about that was mesmerizing. It was a phoenix with its wings spread open or maybe an eagle. Majestic yet dangerous at the same time.


Suddenly, the back turned into a torso with ripped abs and more tattoos across the chest and ribs. My eyes wandered up and met his which glowed like sapphires. I took in his chiseled face and raven hair and stopped at his lips just as his tongue darted out to wet them. That burst the dream bubble.


His lips were curled in an amused smile which turned into a smirk when my eyes met his again. I winked and his smirk vanished. I turned away and headed downstairs just as his smirk turned into a look of curiosity. If I stayed it could be perilous, this was the only guy that could fluster me.


Downstairs, everyone was laughing at some joke as they had breakfast. I sat down and filled my plate with eggs, hash browns, and English muffins trying to get rid of the distracting thoughts brought on by my hot neighbor. 


"Kara! You coming?", Killian hollered from the garage which successfully pulled me out from wherever I was.


I got up from my chair and headed outside where surprisingly Killian was already waiting in his (our) sleek black Challenger. My iPhone pinged just as I got out the door and I opened it to see a new message on my group chat.


That brought a smile on my face. Which is why I crashed into a wall of muscle and luckily instead of falling on my butt I was saved by a pair of arms.


"Sorry and Tha..nks...", I said and lost my train of thought. I was staring into those same sapphire eyes with a hint of playfulness in them.


"I have to go.", I said as Killian called me.


Just as I turned, he grabbed my wrist. I felt his breath near my ear.


"So, you enjoyed the show?", he asked and I finally got to hear his husky voice.


"Nothing I haven't seen before. Just average.", I said as I freed my wrist and hopped into the safety of the car.
