"Come on, take it off..."
She was trying to take off her robe and I was gonna be able to see it. Jeez, does she need my help or something, because I would be happy to assist her in her struggle. I adjusted my telescope to make sure I had the perfect angle and the best view of this amazing event. I could sell tickets in this apartment for men to see, but I want her all to myself and no one else. She then turned around and squinted her eyes near my direction. My heart dropped and I just hoped she didn't see the telescope and the creep staring at her. If I did move the scope then she would see that someone was looking at her, but I could say I was gazing at the birds on the apartment roof. Oh yes, that is a perfect idea. Yep, I'll say that for my backup plan.
She bent down to water the plants on her balcony and she went inside and closed the curtains. Dang it, maybe another time. She probably suspected someone was watching so she then played it off as if she wasn't about to take off her robe.
"Well buddy, not today once again." I told Fierce since he was definitely keeping track of the fails I've been getting to see this woman take it off. I could actually sell the pictures for mon-. Nah, that's not cool. I just want to see the pictures for myself and I'll have them forever.
Fierce jumped on the couch and circled it four times and laid down.
"Wanna watch tv bud?" I turned it on since he usually watches it and then he falls asleep. I went to the back room and put an "x" on the clipboard that was titled "Take off robe". Another day, an another fail. I expect to see mighty gestures happen to me, but they never happen. I've been waiting for weeks on end and now my deadline is almost up. If I don't see what I've been eagerly trying to see for months then it's time for me to move on to the next woman.
Night came, and I was laying on the couch till I heard someone talking in the complex. The voices were of a man and a woman; not old but sounded pretty young/young adult. I made out a few words they said but not a lot; I think they were a floor above me. I got up and laid Fierce down on the couch since me and him were cuddling up together. My door creaked a little when I cracked it open to hear the conversation.
"Mason, I could call you ---- if you."
"Yeah, ----- great. You have my num--- right?"
That's all I could make out. The walls and floors here were so thin that you could hear almost anything; these people could possibly be 2 floors up if everyone is asleep above me. As I was still listening by the door, Fierce's head popped between my arm. He definitely wanted to go outside and a little fresh air wouldn't hurt. It was a little chilly so I grabbed my jacket off of the hanger and ran to my bedroom to get his leash. I picked up his leash near his dog bed beside my dresser, then I ran to the door and snapped his lease on his collar. We headed out the door and down the stairs into the dark night. He was trained and stuff but dogs don't want to be cooped up in a house all day staring at walls and picture frames.
We walked down the sidewalk towards the street light; Fierce sniffed along with every step we took and he kept looking back at me.
"What's up bud? You gotta use it?" It didn't seem like he needed to use anything at all. He just wanted to escape from the four walls he's been kept in. We turned back around to the apartment complex and a girl with the same purple dress I saw today at Spencer's came outside to a car. It was probably Uber I'm guessing since she didn't open the passenger side front door. She turned her head a little and saw Fierce and smiled, but I held my head down and didn't show my face. I thought she would recognize me since I was the one asking if she needed help with anything, but who would remember an employee unless you come consistently.
She got in the Uber I suppose and the car sped off.
I bent down to Fierce and said, "Hey bud, I think you made her day. You cute buddy."
I rubbed his back and we walked up the stairs and went into the apartment. Well what should I eat? I took the leash off of Fierce and then I went straight into the kitchen, I pulled the fridge door open and well, what I saw was disappointing. I'm freaking poor; I need a side hustle to get food in this fridge. Ramen noodles again I guess, like I'm not a freaking college student, I'm a grown adult who has a job and I make money to support me and my dog. If I had a partner in life none of this would happen to me, but I'm stuck living alone eating Ramen noodles.
"Here we go AGAIN!!" I swiped the dishes off the counter and Fierce ran to me when he heard the crash of all the plates fall to the ground.
"I'm fine Fierce. I'm just upset." I didn't want to cook the noodles in the pot, frick that. I opened the cabinet door above me and took out a glass bowl. Fierce was still protective and a little scared for me by the look in his eyes . He basically told me, "Why the hell would you do that you stupid idiot?"
I understand I am dumb, but I'm suffering here and I need to escape this life I'm living in and I need to go back to my old ways that brought me joy. I stood there for a good five minutes thinking about the plan to go back and get my happy life to come back to me again, because I missed it and I bet it misses me too.
