Linked together

I walked back to the car and then I saw detective Parker leaning against mine.

"Got any good information Baxter?"

"Nope. The manager said he didn't recognize him. I gave him my card incase he saw him again."

"Good, good. Well let's go back to the station and review all the crimes linked together and see if we can get information from there. I think if we review them all we could piece them all together into one. We just gotta break them down into small pieces."

"Ok." I opened the car door and got it. I felt like the manager knew something, but maybe he didn't. Just a small gut feeling I guess. I cranked up the car and drove out of the parking lot and headed for the station.

The murder scenes had different tools used in each one, and they weren't pleasant at all. The ways the person killed his victims got worse and worse each time. I think there is a message in each one, maybe the killer was telling us something. Maybe about how he felt. I pulled up to the station and parked in the front of the building. Detective Parker and I walked in and went to grab the files. There were at least six murders linked together and this new one was the seventh. We went to the backroom and spread everything out.

"Baxter, look at clues or symbols that may be eye catching. Maybe the killer wants to tell us something. There is always a possibility."

"Yeah. I thought the same thing too. Could be a hidden message with these horrific scenes."

"Why did the killer hurt his victims this way? Out of jealousy maybe?"

"Could be. Most crimes are about cheating, or life insurance, or out of plain jealousy."

"The first crime scene was a woman being hanged, correct Baxter?"

"Yes, and we haven't seen one quite like it. We thought it was suicide." I said.

"Until we found fingerprints on the body. Then it turned into a homicide."

"Let's focus on one at a time. Why hang her though or was she already dead before then?"

"Well detective Parker he could have choked her and made it seem like a suicide so no one would go further with the case."

"But Baxter, our rates of solving crimes are low due to past investigators with zero to none experience. The whole city knew that and other cities did too."

"Exactly, therefore, if he knew that then why would it matter to cover up a crime like this unless he could easily get caught."

"Yes Baxter! We need to run the victim's name, address, and family contact information. When we get that we could interview them about past relationships and enemies the victim might have had in the past. A simple thing to as getting the address helps us to see if any neighbors saw someone go to her house daily or occasionally, ya know?"

"Yeah I got it. I'll ask Charlotte to get me the info." I went out the room and told Charlotte to run the info about the woman.Charlotte helps getting contact information at the station for different crimes. I think we could get really close to solving the first case and getting more clues. Once we get the victim's info we'll move on to the next step, interviewing family.
