Act Two: Chapter Ten: The Amulet

Daniel Grayson,

The cold wind was blowing violently, without creating a single ripple in the water. I stepped came forth and stepped on the surface of the still lake. The water was solid as if frozen in time. I walked across to the entrance, taking each step carefully. The entrance lead to a set of stairs leading down. I knew this time there won't be a fancy Study at the bottom.

The staircase ended in a single-wide hallway, lighted by the torches on the sides. The atmosphere felt cold and damp and the air fresh, all this took the appearance of a dungeon. The hallway ended in a room, but what I found at the end was not that simple. The room had a narrow path in the middle and water on each side. The large plates on the top of the water, with white flames burning in them, like a fluorescent bulb they gave off a white hue.

The roof was a dome reaching upward and on the curve were windows, from which sunlight was entering. At the end of the narrow path was a creature, on its knees. I didn't know how this room existed underwater, but so far I saw things that I couldn't explain, thus there was no point in questioning further.

I came closer to properly identify the creature in front of me on its knees. The monster had six arms and a slim body similar to a cat, black in color. Two pairs of arms on both sides, with the second set of pairs coming out of his shoulder. All of his arms were chained with glistening sliver chains connected to similar braces on his wrist. The chains were attached to the arched roof on top of the creature.

The creature had a large amount of braided hair on top of his head. Covering the face, as it was hunched and over and back, long enough reaching the bottom and extending even further, almost like a tail. The creature's size was not the same as mine, but rather it was massive. Its height reaching roughly 17 meters and its arms and legs were half of its body length. All of his hands had one thumb and two fingers and his feet's had 2 toes.

At first, I thought that the creature was dead, but as soon as, I stepped a little closer. Its hair started to change color, turning white, then the creature jolt to life. Snapping its head at me, just stopping a foot away from my face. Its face was similar to the previous monsters. But this time, the white mist was escaping from its eyes and body.

It also reviled the amulet, which was embedded inside its chest.

[Daniel!... Grayson!] It screamed at my face, though I didn't quite i understand where the voice exiting as if it was ringing inside my head [Dame, don't fucking scream] I said moving my face back [No! I... the guardian of the amulet!... first shall determine! if you are pure or not!] He screaming again [Really?] I asked tilting my head in annoyance

The Servent,

Saximus, one of my other loyal minions, not that they had any will of their own. Saximus pulled back, emitting a white aura. The white flames from the plates spewed in the air, wrapping themself around Daniel, engulfing him.

He covered his face, to protect himself, but I soon realized that they were cold. Upon contact with his body, the flames took on a black hue, then slowly dissipated into the ground.

[No! No! No!... You! are not worthy!] Saximus exclaimed [How the hell does that matter!] Daniel shouted angrily in retort [Your heart?... It is only filled with hatred!... Just like him! you do not care about this world! ... You!... Only want to!... Kill him!]

Daniel didn't take his word kindly, evident by his eyes turned neon red. Thought was quite simple and human, "I lost too much, and I wanted to kill the person responsible for it". A man like that wouldn't wait around to become worthy to bring about a change.

[That's fucking right...I want to kill him, so what...Give me the dame amulet] Daniel said lifting the Red Cross on his shoulder [No! Go away!] Saximus said while trying to attack Daniel, but found himself unable to because of the chains

However, The Amulet of the Shapphair king was close to Daniel. If he could touch it and he did, In a swift moment, Daniel touched the Amulet and glowed blue. It was quite simple to use the Amulet and Daniel knew it. bringing the user's will into reality, The amulet glowed bright blue in accordance with his will, simply to obtain it.

[Give it to me!] Daniel shouted at his face, It opened a hole in his chest and the amulet becomes free [No!...You!...Are!...Not!...Worthy!] Saximus blurted his last

Saximus started turning into stone.

Daniel Grayson,

It became quiet after his face became stone and broke off from the rest of his body. I backed off as his whole body disintegrated into dust. Just arms remained, dangling off the chains. I looked at the amulet, it was attached to a small chain. Just the size of my palm and it started glowing bright blue, a sense of numbing rushed through my body. if I were to explained what had happened, I would simply say that I found some sort of inner peace.

Which was disturbed momentarily by the room suddenly shaking and collapsing on itself. I looked back at the amulet, the thing of wanting to get out. The amulet shined bright blue and then I blinked and I was outside.

[Denial! You came back] I looked at Aurumai standing on the motorboat

I quickly looked around and I was already outside. And the entrance had vanished and the tree had repaired itself [How long was I gone for?] I asked looking at Arumai [For a second...You just disappeared and the tree came back together]

[Oh...]

I looked at the tree. which was joint with all of its scattered parts and form back to its original state, with the words still written as they were before. Surprisingly, Aurumai had a look of tiresome, after seeing something otherworldly.

[ Alright, come on let's get you to the guest house] Aurumai said starting the motor on the boat [Sure, rest is much needed] I said in agreement while climbing on the boat

Aurumai dropped me at "botanical getaway guest house", which was reserved just for me by the Chruch.

[Well, well...The church got you a fancy place, didn't they] I Aurumai out of the window of his car [Hmm...Well, it looks fancy...Anyways thanks for the help]

[Nah...I rather would thank you...You took away my family burden...Now I am going to get me a land, in the middle of a quiet forest and live my life in peace] Aurumai said having a peaceful expression on his face [Sure, you, do you...Goodbye]

And just like that, he left. I checked in the guest house and a room was already registered by my name. I came to my room, dropped my suitcase, which contained the amulet as well as the Red Cross. With two of the artifact now in my possession, I felt so satisfied in my life. Coming ever so close to killing that asshole. But right I now I only thought of sleeping. I felled on the soft and comfy bed and soon felled into a deep sleep.
