Years pass, and Madi learns how to drive the rover, hunt, and learn more English. She's very smart, and she's older now. I still radio everyone everyday, but there's always no response. Madi has learned about my whole journey in the sky and on the ground, and she's learned about everyone in it. She's even tried to draw everyone, and she's pretty good at it. "It's been six years and they're still not back yet. What if they never come back?" I ask Lexa. "They will. How about we go to the bunker? We haven't been there in all this time." Lexa says.

We go to the rover, and I drive to polis. It'll be a long drive, so we pack a lot of food and water, and extra just in case. When we get there, the tower is fallen over onto the top of the bunker. Rubble and ash is everywhere, and everything is destroyed. Lexa looks like she's about to cry, but I know she's trying to not show her feelings. We get out of the rover and I hug her. "You can show your feelings. No one is stopping you. I love you, I'm so sorry." I tell her. I feel one tear roll down my shirt from Lexa. Madi joins in on the hug and says she's sorry. Madi knows how much Polis means to Lexa, because of all the stories Lexa and I have told her. We stay like this for a minute, before Lexa breaks the hug. "I can't believe it's all gone. This was my home." She says. Another tear falls down her cheek, and I wipe it and pull her in for a quick hug again. I kiss her forehead. She holds my hand as we walk through the rubble. Madi walks beside us, and grabs Lexa free hand. Lexa smiles. She is a great mom.

We find the bunker under a huge pile of rubble. We try to open it, but it is locked. It must only be openable from the inside. Hopefully everyone will come out of the bunker soon, it's been six years after all. "We can sleep in the rover tonight, it's not safe to head back in the dark." I say, as night is starting to fall. We head back to the rover, and we try to get as comfortable as possible, even though it's hard to considering we're sleeping in a sitting position. "Goodnight Clarke and Madi." Lexa says, as she kisses me on the lips and Madi on the forehead. "Goodnight." Madi and I reply at the same time. I fall asleep quickly, with my head on Lexa's chest, hearing the soft beating of her heart.
