Chapter 2: Education

The brain is the strongest thing someone can have but it is the most corruptible.

"Sir the girl is only 6 years old. She isn't ready for such advanced books." The tutor said trying to let the young girl be a child.

"No child of mine will be uneducated." Frederick says.

"I'm not saying she shouldn't be educated. I'm saying she should be allowed to be a child as well. You're pushing her into teachings meant for 13 year olds." The tutor said

"Good, she needs to be educated since she has nothing else of value. She has yet to show her race or rank. She needs to be something that I can make use of. Leave me and make sure she isn't slacking off." Frederick walked away.

"As you wish sir." The tutor said. he walks to the young girls room to see her reading an even more advanced book.

"Young miss that is next weeks lesson." The tutor says surprised.

"I know. I might as well get started and just be done with it. I have nothing better to do except study. I'm isolated away from everything and my escape are these books so I read to not think of what's happening." Eclipse said sighing. She marked her page and stood as tall as she could. She was scolded any time she didn't act regal as she was a lords only daughter.

"I never realized. I thought you played with the other kids nearby." He said frowning.

"I have tried but I can't keep up nor can I transform. I am essentially a useless human when I'm supposed to be raised with drinkers and Were's. I'm alone." She said while putting the book away.

"You're just a late bloomer that's all. It will come you just have to be patient." He said smiling at the young miss.

"I hope but I have yet to receive my soul string." She said sadly.

"That is perfectly understandable. You haven't received rank yet. You get your string when you have a rank." He said while setting down a test for her to take.

"I hope so I'm quite sad." She said taking her test.

"I often forget that your only 6 and not a young adult with the way you talk." The tutor said looking out the window to see the city in the distance.

"Most people do. Father has been trying to select me a husband but I just don't know what he's thinking. I will not be eligible until I'm atleast 16 if I don't receive a string." she said sighing while answering the questions.

"I know but I have no choice, young miss. We will review dances since there is a ball tonight." The tutor said smiling at the young girl.

"Samuel must I go to the ball. I will stick out like a sore thumb." She said flipping the page. She really didn't want to deal with royals and their children.

"Unfortunately Eclipse I have no choice. Tonight we have the Poisoned coming. Your Father wishes to make amends with them. I would not be surprised with him if he has you entertain them." He said picking up the completed test.
