Chapter 003: The Ball
The lights and glamour of the life of have an illustrious way to blind their minds.
"Ah welcome everyone to this wonderful evening. We hope to enhance your night with food and drink." A random servant announced.
"This evening will mostly be a bore. I don't even see the Lord or his daughter." A guest complained not seeing any person of value except for the Poisoned.
"You must not have heard. This area is the formality section. The important people are in the secluded area." Another guest said sighing.
"Eclipse speak with the children while I speak with their Lord." Father said.
"I will even though they are much older. Hello My name is Rose Eclipse Matthews and I thank you for coming to the Ball. I am to help keep you entertained for some of the evening." I said monotonely not very excited.
"Ahh look at this little one. She acts like a grown up. Why don't we play a game of hide and seek. you go hide and well find you." A female said.
"I would rather not. I was told to speak and interact with you so I am going to. I am also aware that if I had said yes then you could control me with your powers Jennifer. I was informed of all the people coming and their abilities. I would recommend not trying to swindle me with tricks otherwise the guards will take action." I said walking to the table with food to grab a drink.
"What is wrong with that kid she's not normal. She speaks like Lord Frederick. She won't even act like a kid. Has anyone seen her smile tonight?" Jennifer asked.
"That is how the young miss is. She acts much older because she has been pushed away by everyone her age. She seeks friendship but doesn't trust it." A guard walked up about to help the young miss get a drink.
"Guard what time did Father say I can leave." I said after getting my drink.
"He said you could leave when he comes back. You may sit and rest my lady. You have been very busy studying." The guard said helping the young miss to a table.
"Very well. If you all must know I have yet to be assigned a race and rank at this very moment. I'm nothing more than a human." I said sighing.
"So your a late bloomer." A random guy said.
"Thats the hope but one must be realistic I'm mostly likely an anomaly and will be human." I said before taking a sip.
"Oooh if thats the case then why should we even think about making a treaty. Its obvious Frederick is weak if he spawned a human." The same guy popped off laughing.
"His strength doesn't correlate to me. I am an outlier in this land. I strive not to stand above my place but these days I have felt strange." I said feeling the tingling again starting around my heart.
"Probably guilt that your weak and useless." He said again. I didn't respond it was becoming painful.
"Guard get me out of here. I may be finding out what I am."
