The Mark of the Berserker

Detention room...

"Afternoon, boys and girls Welcome to detention. Now, I want to be here about as much as you do, so the sooner you get your homework done, the sooner we can all go home." Cunningham said, as the teacher speaks to one boy sitting on his own. "All right, Jacob? You okay?"

"Yeah." Jacob said.

"Mrs Pittman tells me you got into a fight. Now, that doesn't sound like you."

"What am I like then, Mister Cunningham?"

"No, you're a good kid. You're smart, funny. Is there anything wrong at home?"

Jacob has a strange mark on his palm, "No, everything's fine."

"Okay. You know you can always talk to me if you've got a problem." Cunningham said.

"Just told you, haven't I? I'm all right." Jacob said.

"Freak." Steve said.

"What was that?"

"All right, Steve, that's enough. Jacob, turn round and get on with your work." Cunningham said.

"What did you call me?" Jacob asked.

"Me? Nothing. I…" Steve said.

"Hey, I've asked you once. Now, both of you, be quiet and get on with your work." Cunningham said.

"Jacob's a freak!" Steve said, coughing a bit.

Rani is walking along the corridor.

"Just stop it! I've warned you, Steve. I've had enough. Don't push me." Jacob said.

"What are you going to do, freak!" Steve said, angrily.

"Right, that's it!" Cunningham said.

"Shut up! Shut up!" Jacob said.

And Steve can no longer make a sound.

"Hey, what's going on? Right, Steve, stop it! Stop messing about!" Cunningham said.

"You, too. Will the two of you just be quiet?" Jacob asked, and now Mister Cunningham is moving his lips but making no sounds. "Everyone, stay where you are. Don't move. Just, just be quiet."

Rani is watching through the glass partition in the door. Jacob turns his back on the others, laughing, then sees the strange mark on his hand extend itself up his forearm. He runs out.

Corridor…

"Jacob! Jacob!" Rani said.

Washroom…

Rani goes into the detention room while Jacob runs to the washroom to try and get rid of the marks. Instead, it grows up onto his face.

"No!" Jacob said.

Rani runs out of the room and knocks on the washroom door, "Jacob! Jacob?"

Jacob takes off a pendant he was wearing under his shirt. The design is the same as on his palm, and it is glowing.

"No! Make it stop!" Jacob said.

"Jacob?" Rani asked, nearby.

"Please! All of it, just stop!"

Detention room...

Their voices return.

"Oh! Is everyone okay?" Cunningham asked.

Outside the washroom…

Jacob throws the pendant onto the floor, and it stops glowing. Mister Cunningham and the three other detention students run away down the corridor.

"I'm coming in, so you'd better be decent." Rani said, while Jacob opens the door. "Jacob?"

Sorry." Jacob said.

There is a strange sound.

"What was that?" Rani asked.

Jacob runs away.

Washroom…

Rani finds the pendant, "Hello. Who are you, then?"

Her phone rings.

"Oh, hi, Dad." Rani said.

Corridor…

"Are you at the car park?" Rani asked.

Jacob sees Rani put the pendant in her pocket.

Outside the Langer home…

"If it's not a sleep-over, I don't understand." Luke said.

"Luke, you're just gonna stay with Clyde." Jared said, smiling. "It's not a sleep over. We're not girls, okay?"

"And I'll be sleeping over at Clyde's. Therefore it's a sleep-over." Luke said.

"I never know if you're being serious." Clyde said.

"I know." Luke said.

Momoko, Rena, and Kaede then exited 13 Bannerman Road.

"Sarah Jane!" Carla said.

"Carla! How are you?" Sarah Jane asked.

"Well, you know, I'd tell you over a cup of tea, if you ever had the time for one." Carla said.

"I have the time for a cup of tea." Jared said, laughing a little. "These three girls. One of them tells me off for getting into sticky situations. Which I usually do."

"Oh, sorry, I can't. Not today." Sarah Jane said. "But Jared says he's able to."

"I know, I know. Same old story. See, Clyde? Proper job keeps her busy. And Jared, he doesn't have a proper job. Has Clyde told you? He wants to be the new Banksy. Graffiti art, he calls it." Carla said.

"Yes, Mum. Come on, Luke, Jared, and Momoko." Clyde said. "Kaede, Rena, you can keep Rani company."

"Oi!" Sarah Jane said, and Luke hugs her. "Carla, thanks again for taking Luke in. And Momoko, Rena, Kaede, thanks for being here for Jared. Well, this weekend."

"Oh, he's not a problem. Luke is a sweet boy." Carla said.

"It's not a big deal. Not like we wanted to come to Ealing, anyway." Rena said, crossing her arms.

"What she's trying to say is." Momoko said, happily. "We wanted to help him."

"So, Tarminster?" Carla asked.

"I'm sorry?" Sarah Jane asked.

"Clyde says you're going to Tarminster."

"Oh, that's right. Oh, nothing too exciting. An article on hospital hygiene standards."

"Oh, don't you get me started on that MRSA. Beryl next door, face like a pineapple. I'll tell you all about it when you get back."

"Right, yes, well, I'd best be off, then. I'll pick him up Sunday night." Sarah Jane said.

"Bye, darling." Carla said.

Living room…

"What do you want to do? Football? Play on the computer?" Clyde asked.

"Oh, I don't think so. Friday night? Spagabola night? Get yourselves in that kitchen." Carla said.

"You cook?" Luke asked.

"Yeah. It's Mum's new thing." Clyde said.

"You, cook?"

"Oh, my baby boy's a demon in the kitchen." Carla said.

"Mum…" Clyde said.

"Oh, Clydie's all embarrassed." Carla said.

"Mum! Mum! Mum! Stop it." Clyde said.

"So, you wanted a nice, peaceful weekend." Momoko said.

"Yup." Jared said, looking back at the blonde. "I'm hungry. I could eat a whole house down, right about now."

Chandra home…

"Chinese or pizza?" Rani asked.

"Anything better than Mitama's cooking." Rena said, crossing her arms. "You would hate her cooking."

"As long as it isn't my dad's." Rani said.

"What's wrong with my cooking, exactly?" Haresh asked.

"Nothing, I just fancied a takeaway." Rani said.

"I like, um, a takeaway. A takeaway is good." Kaede said, smiling.

"Rani, just don't tell your mum. She goes away for the week and then suddenly you're in charge." Haresh said.

"Chinese?" Rani asked.

"You know I don't like Chinese." Haresh said.

"Oh, please, let's have Chinese."

"We'll have Chinese."

"What?"

"You said we should have Chinese."

"Um, this is weird." Kaede said, telepathically.

"Tell me about it." Rena said, telepathically. "Like, what's going on here?"

"I don't know." Kaede said, as Rani takes the glowing pendant from her pocket. "I think that might have something to do with it."

"Maybe. But that looks alien."

"What's Jared doing with Momoko?"

"Something normal, I guess. Shouldn't we be hunting Witches?"

"Why? Why do we have to fight them? When we know they're Magical Girls."

"Just saying."

"I'm telling you, this is brilliant." Rani said.

"It's brilliant." Haresh said.

"Dad, er, start hopping." Rani said, as Haresh obeys. "Now the other foot. Okay, stop it. Stop hopping. Do er, I know. Do Bianca, from EastEnders."

"Rick-ay. Whitney. Paaaat."

"Okay. Now, er, now be a lion." Rani said, and Haresh drops to all fours, and roars.

"This is a bit funny." Kaede said, laughing with Rani. "And amusing."

"Stop. You'd die if you could see yourself." Rani said.

"You want me to die?" Haresh asked.

"No, no. Please, Dad, I think you should just forget everything that just happened." Rani said, putting the pendant back in her pocket.

"Why am I down here?"

"I think you dropped some change. You er, going to order that pizza, then?" Rani asked, seeing the design from the pendant on her palm.

"Pass me the menu." Haresh said.

The doorbell rings.

"I'll get it." Rani said.

Rena then followed Rani.

Front door…

"Jacob. What are you doing here?" Rani asked.

"Show me your hand. It's already happening, isn't it?" Jacob asked.

"Okay, I don't know what's going on. And neither does Rani and Kaede. So tell us." Rena said.

Outside the Chandra home…

"You picked it up at school. I saw you. And you've used it." Jacob said.

"It's fading." Kaede said, looking down at Rani's hand.

"Yeah. It does that when you stop using it. I'm talking about this like it's normal. At first, I was just having fun. You know, I just wanted people to like me. That's not bad, is it?" Jacob asked.

"Jacob, we need to know where you found it." Rani said.

"Back of the school yard. You know, where they're putting those pipes in. It was lying there in the mud. And it looked really, really nice, so I picked it up." Jacob said.

"And now you've used it on people?" Rena asked. "Why? Are you trying to spread a Rumor or something?"

"It was an accident, at first. The more you use it, it's like it talks to you. It's like, glowing on the pendant, then in your hand and then. I think it's evil." Jacob said.

"We know someone who can get rid of it." Rena said. "It's one of two people. But the other, they happen to be out of town."

"What are you lot gonna do?" Jacob asked.

"It's going to be okay. I promise." Kaede said, smiling.

Attic…

A post-it note says - If it's Alien....LEAVE IT!! SJ.

"Yeah, right." Rena said, looking at the note. "Like your friends are gonna follow that."

And on the fireplace - I said leave it!!!

"I think that this is a bad idea." Kaede said, sadly. "We should follow what she says."

"Mister Smith, I need you. Hello? Mister Smith, I need you." Rani said

"Sorry, I'm not available right now. Sarah Jane has shut me down whilst she's away. If you'd like to leave a message, we'll get back to you when she returns." Mr Smith said.

"Whatever. Just er, look after this." Rani said, hanging up the pendant. "Guess it'll be a quiet weekend then."

Clyde's bedroom…

Luke is on a spare mattress on the floor. And Jared is lying down on the floor with Momoko. The four are laughing.

"Are you four still awake? Don't make me come in there." Carla said, outside the room.

"Mum, can you keep the noise down please? We're trying to get to sleep in here." Clyde said.

"Oi, cheeky. See you in the morning."

"Night, Mrs Langer." Luke said.

"It's Carla, Luke." Carla said, outside the room.

"Why did you want us here? If it's gonna be a relaxing weekend?" Momoko asked, telepathically.

"That's what I want to know." Rena said, telepathically.

"The truth is. It's not a relaxing weekend." Jared said, telepathically. "Clyde's dad. He's come to visit. And he's gonna go on a rampage. And I can't exactly track him. Without going unnoticed."

"So, you need some stealth. Great…"

"Is this a good idea?" Kaede asked, telepathically.

"It's easy for Rena. Since she can transform into anyone, right?" Jared asked, telepathically.

"But it drains my energy and magic." Rena said, telepathically.

"You think I don't know that. If Clyde's dad says to forget about us. You can recover for a couple minutes or so."

Jared then closed his eyes and he fell asleep. Knowing how stressed he'll be tomorrow. And how much it'll tire out Rena as a whole for becoming someone else constantly.

"Me? No. Well, yeah, all right, but don't tell anyone." Clyde said.

"Why not?" Luke asked.

"Well, Mrs Taylor said I had a natural talent or something, so she's got me doing extra work. Yeah, it's pretty cool, I guess." Clyde said.

"Wish I could draw."

"Yeah? Well, maybe I'll teach you, my son."

"Thanks, Dad. Oh, sorry."

"What?"

"I was trying be funny. Your dad, that's not funny."

"Oh no, it's old news. It's cool, I've got me old mum, anyway. I'm sorted. Night, then."

"This is why telepathy rocks." Jared said, telepathically.

"So, how will we keep up with Clyde's dad tomorrow?" Momoko asked, telepathically.

"Don't worry. I've got a plan."

"Like what?"

"One more word and I swear I'm coming in there." Carla said, outside the room.

"Night, Carla!" Luke and Clyde said, at the same time.

Langer home - various…

Luke wakes to the sight of Clyde's toe dangling above his head. Jared wakes to the sight of Momoko's breasts in eye view. Carla is bopping in the kitchen to Grace Kelly by Mika whilst pricking the sausages. The doorbell rings.

"Get that, will you, Clyde?" Carla asked.

"Yeah." Clyde said.

"Hello, son." Paul said.

"Dad?"

Chandra kitchen…

Rani has the same radio station blaring. The mark has gone from her palm.

"It's too early for music." Rena said, her hand on her hip. "Why are we listening to this?"

"It's slow paced." Kaede said, smiling. "I kinda like it."

Rani turns the radio off, "Do you want some breakfast?"

"Go on, then. So, what are you up to today with Rena and Kaede? Seeing Luke and Jared?" Haresh asked.

"And Clyde and Momoko, yeah." Rani said.

"Oh, right."

"Don't start."

"I never said anything. It's up to you who you're friends with, Rani. Just be careful with Clyde. Some people are trouble."

Living room…

"So, this is Clyde's dad." Rena said, telepathically. "What a wuss."

"He left Clyde and his mother." Jared said, kicking his foot back and forth.

"That doesn't give him the right to barge into Clyde's life again."

"You can talk." Jared said, his eyes closed.

"I live in Germany. I can't just pop round for tea. Actually, I could kill for a decent cuppa. All right, mate? I'm Paul." Paul said.

"I'm Luke, this is Jared and Momoko, we're Clyde's friends." Luke said.

"What the hell are you doing here? Don't you care about Clyde at all?" Carla asked.

Yeah. That's why I'm back." Paul said.

"Because you care about me? You know, when you left, at first I pretended it hadn't happened. That you'd just gone on holiday. And then I realised, no, you'd gone. Do you know what I did? I blamed Mum. I figured she must have done something really bad to drive you away. I messed about at school, got into trouble. I got expelled." Clyde said, angrily.

"Yeah, all right, I'm sorry, mate."

"You're sorry? Dad, one minute you were there and the next, I had no dad."

"Look, I'm putting me hands up. I've not been the best father in the world. But that's why I'm here."

"What do you want?"

"To spend some time with you. I just want us to get to know each other. You're still my son."

"No." Momoko said, crossing her arms.

"What?" Paul asked.

"I'm sorry, I am. But you can't be with Clyde."

"Momoko's right. He's my kid and I won't have you messing him up." Carla said.

"He's sixteen, Carla. He's not a kid." Paul said.

"Dad's right. I'm not a kid." Clyde said.

"I didn't mean it like that, but Clyde, if you want to see him, then I won't stop you. It's your choice." Carla said.

"You sure that this is a good idea?" Kaede asked, telepathically.

"No. It isn't." Jared said, letting out a sigh. "How's it going with the pendant?"

"I think it's still there."

"Good. For now."

"Will the three of you be all right here? I don't think I'll be long." Clyde said.

"Yeah." Luke said.

"I'll get dressed. Can you wait outside, please? I don't want you upsetting Mum."

"I'll be here for you. Afterwards." Carla said.

"Oh, and, by the way, Dad. I'm not sixteen. I'm fifteen."

Chandra home...

Up in Sarah Jane's attic, the pendant is flickering.

Rena is sipping on some milk tea Jared left for her and she got a text message from the fanboy, What? You're kidding me. Fine. I'll follow them."

The blue haired Magical Girl transformed into Kaede and walked out of the house.

"Dad?" Rani asked.

"Yes, love?" Haresh asked.

"Have you ever had something, I don't know, bother you?"

"You could be more specific."

"There's this report I'm doing for the school newspaper, and I wanted Sarah Jane's help, but she's away. I was gonna ask Jared, but he's trying to open up to people again. So I was wondering. Do I wait for Sarah Jane to come back, or do I try and work it out myself?"

"This is you we're talking about. Of course you're going to try and work it out yourself. And Jared told me, he got some help with that too."

"Yeah, you're right. Jared already asked Rena to help. See you later."

"That explains why she turned into me." Kaede said, sadly.

Kaede and Rani are walking away.

"Where are you lot going?" Haresh asked.

"Oh, we said we'd water Sarah Jane's plants. See you." Rani said.

Clyde's bedroom/Bannerman Road…

Luke is studying Clyde's artwork as Jared is listening to some μ's with Momoko. Mostly sci-fi subjects.

Luke's phone rings, "Hi, Rani."

"You, Clyde, Jared, and Momoko meet me and Kaede at the school now." Rani said.

"Not in the middle of Snow halation." Jared said, removing one headphones. "What's up Rani?"

"Not much. Are you lot coming or what?"

"We're hanging." Momoko said. "Also, Clyde's gone."

"Gone?" Kaede asked. "Um, what are you talking about? Momoko?"

"He's hanging out with his dad."

"His dad? Okay, we haven't got time for this now. I want you lot in the school field in ten minutes, right?" Rani asked.

"Okay. Let's go then." Momoko said, smiling.

Park…

Rena Minami disguised herself Yang Xiao Long, knowing that Clyde Langer hasn't met anyone else in Team RWBY besides Ruby Rose herself.

"Remember that park I used to take you to, back in Hounslow. You used to go on the swings, begging for me to push you higher and higher. Remember?" Paul asked.

"No." Clyde said.

"Yeah. You're so distant from Clyde." Rena said, leaning on a tree. "That you don't even know your own son."

"Why did you leave us?" Clyde asked.

"Sometimes, a bloke and his missus stop getting on. Me and your mum, well, that's what happened. I mean, it wasn't your fault." Paul said.

"I never thought it was and don't try that. You ran off with Auntie Mel."

"Yeah. Yeah, I know. I didn't do it right. I messed up."

"Messed up. You ran off to Germany with Mum's sister. You left us. You left me, Dad."

"If only he cared about you more, Clyde." Rena said, sadly.

Paul shows him a photo in his wallet, "I never forgot you, though."

Langer kitchen…

"You lot going out?" Carla asked.

"Yup, we're gonna see Rani and Kaede." Jared said, eating some custard filled donuts.

"Ah, they're lovely girls. You want to take sandwiches? I've got ham in the fridge."

"No thank you, we're good." Momoko said.

"I'm sure Clyde's going to be fine." Luke said.

"You think? Your dad's not around either, is he?" Carla asked.

"No, it's complicated."

"It usually is. Just promise me something. If he ever turns up, you know, out of the blue, whatever, just don't, don't forget your mum."

"I won't."

"Oh, anyway, you three, go. Go on. Because you should never keep friends waiting. Especially if they're girls."

Park…

"So, can you speak German?" Clyde asked.

"Ja." Paul said.

"Teach me something."

"Ich heisse Paul Langer."

"So, ich heisse Clyde Langer. I am Clyde Langer?"

"How's things with Clyde's dad?" Jared asked, telepathically. "Has he gone berserk yet?"

"No." Rena said, telepathically. "Everything looks normal. But what are you doing?"

"Eating custard filled donuts."

"Really? Can I have some?"

"Maybe later."

"Maybe we can swap places." Rena said, crossing her arms. "You watch them. And I can…"

"No."

"That's not why I hang out with him. He's my mate for real." Clyde said.

"Oh, yeah, yeah. Sorry. So, what else do you do?" Paul asked.

"Well, there is something. There's this thing I do that I haven't really told anyone about, but, yeah, I can't really say what it is." Clyde said.

"You a rebel, like your old man? What is it? You drop litter on the streets? Come on. We shouldn't have secrets." Paul said, and his phone rings.

"If he reveals everything." Rena said, telepathically. "Then this could be bad."

It is Mel. Paul rejects the call.

"Dad? Dad? I save the world." Clyde said.

School yard…

"Gah, this is so boring." Jared said, as they're looking amongst the building equipment. "I hate this."

"I bet Sarah Jane never does anything like this. And Jared, you've never done this with Team RWBY." Rani said, looking back at Jared.

"What are you looking for?" Momoko asked.

"Jacob West found something here. Something alien." Rani said.

"I hope Clyde's okay." Kaede said, sadly. "And that Rena isn't in any danger."

"They'll be fine, Kaede. The two of them can look after themselves, you know. It's Clyde and Rena." Rani said.

"Yeah, I guess. But, but I'm still worried about them."

"Maybe there's nothing else down there." Jared said, smiling. "Come on, I hope Mr Smith is working. I could rely on Yui, but then again…"

"Maybe he'll work for me. Let's go." Luke said.

Park...

"If it wasn't for me, all these people, they wouldn't be here. I've saved them loads of times and they don't know." Clyde said.

"Clyde…" Rena said, rolling her eyes. "What are you even doing?"

"Is everything okay?" Jared asked, telepathically.

"No, no, I'm not saying that. It's just, you and this Luke, the two of you, saving the world?" Paul asked.

"You don't know what we've seen. Slitheens, Sontarans. And Jared has seen stuff with his friends, they saved the world too together. From Witches, Familiars, Uwasa, Grimm, and Noise. We've stopped them, all of them." Clyde said.

"You and Luke? And Jared stopped them with his friends?" Paul asked.

"You don't believe me, do you. Fine. I'll prove it to you."

"Clyde's gonna show him everything." Rena said, looking between Clyde and his dad.

"Good. Wait! Not good." Jared said, telepathically. "As long as you don't interfere…"

"Things will go as you remember. Mostly."

"Bannerman Road. It's where it all happens." Clyde said.

Attic...

"And then up here is the attic." Clyde said.

Paul is out of breath from all the stairs, "Whoa! Look at all this stuff. You could make a fortune on eBay. What is all this?"

"Dad, it's not about money."

"No, no. Course not."

"It isn't. Some of this stuff, it's alien. Do you get what that means?"

"Alien? Yeah, right. You mean like those Dalek and Noise things."

"Yeah, but there's loads more. Some of them are pretty cool."

"Clyde, what are you doing?" Rena asked, still using the appearance of Yang.

"Well, we have this mate who lives in America, and Jared has loads of mates who live in Japan or in another universe, but Sarah Jane has this." Clyde said, projecting a hologram of himself.

"Hey, hey, Maria! This friend of Sarah Jane's given her this holographic postcard whatsit thing, so…" Holo-Clyde said.

"Hi, Maria. We miss you." Holo-Luke said.

"Soft boy. We don't miss you. We've moved on. You're gone and forgotten. Maria Who, I say."

"See? Alien tech." Clyde said.

"It's true. I thought it was just the government and the army, they dealt with all that. But you? My lad meets aliens." Paul said.

"All in a day's work."

"Clyde, you're gonna mess up." Rena said, crossing her arms.

"Oh, I know." Jared said, telepathically. "Put on the perception filter TARDIS key soon."

"These aliens. Do they bring stuff like this?" Paul asked.

"Yeah, sometimes." Clyde said.

"If we could just mass produce this…"

"Is that all you think about? Don't you get it? There's millions of worlds out there. It's, it's magic."

"Okay, okay. So, it's you, Luke and this, er, Sarah Jane and Jared."

"Yeah. Oh, but behind that wall there, that's Mister Smith. He's basically this big, alien computer. You say, Mister Smith and then you say something else, but I wouldn't do that because then he'd tell Sarah Jane, and then it's all whoosh, and out he comes. Pretty cool." Clyde said, and Paul has found the pendant Rani and Kaede left.

"You've got to be kidding me." Rena said, watching Paul put the pendant in his pocket. "Jared, things have got a lot worse."

"Dad, what are you doing?" Clyde asked.

"Just looking. So, yeah, aliens. Aliens come to Ealing and meet you." Paul said.

"Yeah. Who's the daddy, now?"

Outside Sarah Jane's home…

Haresh spots Clyde putting the front door key back under the flowerpot, "Clyde Langer! What are you doing here? Sarah Jane's away for the weekend. And who are you?"

Rena hid behind a column for a moment to turn back to normal.

"Paul Langer, Clyde's dad." Paul said.

"Rena, this is why I needed you today." Jared said, telepathically. "Heading your way now."

"Where are you?" Rena asked, telepathically.

"We're heading back from Park Vale."

"Clyde, Rani, and Luke's school?"

"Yeah."

Paul and Clyde laugh.

"Can I ask what the three of you are doing here?" Haresh asked.

"Er, watering the plants. Yeah, Sarah Jane asked me and Rena to water the plants when she was away." Clyde said.

"That's interesting, because apparently she asked Rani and Kaede to do that as well."

"Er, there's lots of plants."

"I'm sure you think you're funny, Clyde, but this is serious."

"Oh, come on, mate. It's not that serious. Just drop it, eh?" Paul asked, while Haresh drops the pizza boxes he is holding. "You okay?"

"What could possibly go wrong?" Rena asked, telepathically.

"Everything." Kaede said, telepathically.

"Yeah." Momoko said, telepathically.

"Are you guys back yet?" Rena asked, telepathically.

"Give us a couple more minutes." Jared said, telepathically. "I bought some more custard filled donuts."

"Now? Really?

"I'm hungry. Okay!"

Haresh starts running on the spot.

"Mister Chandra." Clyde said.

"Is he? He is. He's doing what I tell him. Oi, mate. Jogging's for wimps. Get doing some push-ups, yeah?" Paul asked, and Haresh obeys.

Rani, Luke, Jared, Momoko, and Kaede come round the corner.

"Mister Chandra." Kaede said. "Um, what are you doing?"

"Jogging's for wimps. I'm doing press-ups." Haresh said.

"What's happened? Who are you?" Rani asked, looking at Paul.

"Oh, Rani, this is my dad." Clyde said.

"Did you go to the attic?" Kaede asked.

"Yeah! So?" Paul asked.

"Mum and Jared don't like anyone going in there." Luke said.

"And you always do what you're told, do you? Clyde reckons you lot saved the world."

"Have you told him what we do?" Luke asked, looking at Clyde.

"Mister Langer, did you take something that doesn't belong to you?" Momoko asked.

"Hey, that's my dad you're talking to." Clyde said.

"He's nicked something alien. There was this pendant at school. Jacob West was using it to brainwash people." Rani said.

"Don't you go accusing my dad of nicking stuff. Who do you think you are?" Clyde asked.

"You take your dad up to the attic, he comes back down and suddenly my dad's doing what your dad tells him to. And Rena, why didn't you stop him?" Rani asked. "You have the ability to turn into anyone you want."

"Come on, mate. I really can't be bothered with all this." Paul said.

"Rani, Jared, KMR triangle, perhaps we should go inside and speak to Mister Smith." Luke said.

"You calling my dad a thief? What is your problem?" Clyde asked.

"Um, he, he stole the pendant." Kaede said, frowning. "It's dangerous."

Behind their backs, Paul puts the pendant around his neck.

"What do you mean, it's dangerous? What are you talking about?" Clyde asked.

"Clyde!" Paul said, angrily.

"Yeah, I'm coming, Dad."

"Good. Oh, and Clyde, forget about those six."

"You see. He's got it." Rani said.

"I want you to forget about them completely. Clyde?" Paul asked.

"I'm fine." Clyde said.

"Clyde. Clyde, wait." Luke said, and Clyde walked away.

"Sorry, do I know you?"

"What? Clyde!"

"How do you know my name?"

"It's me. Luke."

"Nah, sorry, mate. Never seen you before in my life. Come on, Dad."

"Clyde!"

"Forget it. Clyde's gone." Rena said, putting the perception filter around her neck, which has the shape of the TARDIS key before walking away. "I'll be back. I promise."

Street…

"Are you okay, son?" Paul asked.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." Clyde said.

"You don't want to go back to Luke, Rani, and Jared and his friends, then?" Paul asked.

"Who?"

"Oh, er, it doesn't matter."

Clyde notices the pendant around his father's neck, "Dad, what's that?"

Rena has been following Paul and Clyde without using her magic whatsoever, "So, he still remembers the pendant."

"Yup." Jared said, telepathically. "You keep following them, okay?"

"Fine. You'll have to repay me back with an idol concert."

"I will. I can afford it. I'm on the UNIT payroll. And I got money when I was working with Torchwood."

"I don't need to call my mum." Clyde said.

"No. So, you want to go on a trip?" Paul asked.

"Have you got a car?"

"Oh, yeah. Back in Germany. But we could always get a new one."

Attic…

"He can do anything. He has the pendant. And he used it to make Clyde forget who we are." Momoko said.

"Yup, Sarah Jane would know what to do." Jared said, pacing back and forth.

"Um, if we call her." Kaede said, sadly. "We, we would have to tell her that Clyde brought his dad up here."

"She'll be really pissed. You didn't listen to me or Sarah."

"But, if we don't then. No, it doesn't matter. Just call her." Rani said.

Hospital corridor…

Disguised as a nurse, Sarah Jane is scanning with her lipstick, "It's no good, Travast Polong. I'm going to find you."

A giant slug, or extremely agile Horta, nips out of a side room and around the corner. Then three eyes on stalks look back at her. Sarah Jane walks past a No Mobile Phone sign.

Attic…

"No answer." Luke said.

"I just don't know what to do." Rani said.

"I do." Jared said, turning on the 'ordinary' Magpie Electricals computer. "And I don't need Yui or Elfnein this time."

Washington DC / Attic…

"Wakey, wakey!" Alan said, angrily.

"What is it, Dad?" Maria asked.

"Your computer is beeping. Someone wants to talk to you. Stop it beeping."

"Luke! Jared!" Maria said, looking at the computer screen.

"Tell them what time it is here!"

"Shut up. Hey, how are the both of you?"

"Luke's fine." Jared said, smiling. "I'm fine too. Sorry about the Sontaran a while back."

"It's okay. It was months ago for me. And for you too. Are you okay?" Maria asked.

"Nope. I need your help. I mean, we need your help."

"Maria." Rani said.

"Hi Maria Jackson." Momoko said.

"Uh, hi." Kaede said, sadly.

"Hi! Rani, Momoko, and Kaede, yeah? Luke and Jared told me all about you guys. Rani, how are you finding the whole alien thing? And Momoko, Kaede, how's it going with the Witch hunting?" Maria asked.

"Yeah, it's cool, finding, seeing, stopping, or helping aliens. All right, it's more than that. It's uber cool." Rani said.

"Besides us helping to defeat the Walpurgisnacht." Momoko said. "Everything's been great."

"Tell me about it. You lot saving the world. So, what can I do for you?" Maria asked.

"Actually, we need your dad." Jared said, kicking his foot back and forth. "I'm trying to not use Yui. Despite her being an amazing AI. And I don't want to bother Elfnein. In case she's busy helping out Hibiki and the others."

"Dad?" Maria asked.

"Yes, love?" Alan asked.

"They want to talk to you."

"Me? Cool. Uber cool, in fact. Hey, Luke, Jared."

"Mister Jackson, Sarah Jane's not here and Jared sent Rena Minami to spy on people. We need you the most." Luke said.

"We're sending over a picture now. It's a drawing of an alien pendant. I'm Rani, by the way." Rani said.

"Nice to meet you, Rani. What do you want me to do?" Alan asked.

"Well, you're able to hack into any computer like Kirito and Asuna's artificial intelligence daughter Yui. Right now, she's busy." Jared said, looking around. "And Japan is 13 to 14 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. We want you to hack into UNIT databases and tell us about the pendant. Or at least what it's made of. I kinda forgot what is the full potential of it. "

"What's UNIT?" Alan asked.

"Unified Intelligence Taskforce. They're similar to S.O.N.G, in terms of the core. And the two of them are like the army, but they deal with aliens and stuff." Maria said.

"I won't even ask how you know that. Okay, okay, let's do it."

Porsche showroom…

"Good afternoon, sir. Can I help you?" A salesman asked.

"They're buying a Porsche." Rena said, telepathically. "Are they made of money?"

The blue haired Magical Girl is leaning against one of the cars.

"Nope." Jared said, telepathically. "They're not. I'm gonna send you a suit."

"Oh, money's not a problem." Paul said.

"We do, of course, offer a number of different payment schemes." The salesman said.

"Save the patter, mate. I'm having this one." Paul said, looking at the red Porsche.

"How will you get the suit here?" Rena asked, telepathically.

"Aqours. Give Rena Minami one of the more agile suits." Jared said.

"Yes, Master." Aqours said.

A suit came right out of the TARDIS key Jared gave Rena Minami earlier.

"Wow." Rena said, telepathically. "You didn't have to give me this."

Paul checks his arm. The blue lines are getting longer. Then Clyde's phone rings. It says Luke.

"Hello?" Clyde asked.

Attic / Porsche showroom…

"Hi, Clyde. You think you don't know me, but you do, so please just listen." Luke said.

"Look, who are you? And why is your number in my phone?" Clyde asked.

"I just, I'm your best friend."

"You're a freak. Get lost."

Porsche showroom…

The salesman has handed over the keys.

Rena looked down at the blue and white nanotechnology suit she is wearing, "Oh. A car close to 200 miles per hour. I wouldn't be able to keep up with it by running. And they got the car for free."

"You ready?" Paul asked.

"You betcha." Clyde said.

Attic…

"I gave my dad some water, but he won't stop." Rani said.

HG07FKD roars out of the showroom. And Rena leaped up into the sky and activated the thrusters of the suit. She then followed the car.

"How's Rena?" Momoko asked, looking at Jared. "Is she okay?"

Washington DC…

"How's it going?" Maria asked.

"Getting there. They've got a whole load of firewalls, though. An artificial intelligence 14 years in the future would have broken through this easily. I did think we'd left this sort of thing behind us. Ah ha. Got it. Oh, my God." Alan said.

"Dad?"

"It's the UNIT archives. A photo. December, 1940."

"What is it?"

"It's what happens to you when you use the pendant."

You turn into a blue-veined Hulk.

Porsche…

"Do you remember when you were a kid and I said one day, I'd show you the world? Well, that's today, my son." Paul said.

Rena is flying above the Porsche and she is keeping up with it, "Jared, it's getting worse. The mark."

"Shit." Jared said, telepathically. "We're running out of time."

The mark on Paul's palm is bothering him.

"What's that?" Clyde asked.

"Don't worry about it." Paul said.

"I won't worry about it."

Paul looks in the rear view mirror, and briefly sees himself as a monster.

Washington DC / Attic…

"UNIT knows about it. The pendant belongs to this race of creatures, the Berserkers." Maria said.

"Aren't they from Norse mythology?" Luke asked.

"Still the brainbox, Luke."

"The Berserkers were warriors who put on animal skins as armour."

"And they were vicious, and mad and…"

"Berserk. They're the equivalent to the Ignite Modules on the Symphogear suits. But that makes the user go berserk if an attempt to activate the Ignite Module fails. Or if their being is fused with a Relic and they go mad. Like what happened with Hibiki Tachibana." Jared said, recalling what happened on the Symphogear side of things. "This is really old school. But similar in every way."

"Exactly. Only according to UNIT, they're actually this old race of superbad alien soldiers who, to build up their army, sent out loads of these pendants." Alan said. "And not as modern and human as the Relics Symphogear uses."

"How did one end up at the school?" Kaede asked.

"The last sighting of it was at the Park Vale army barracks in Ealing. In December, 1940, the base was destroyed by a German bomb. And fifty years later, that's where they built the school." Maria said.

"What does it actually do to you?" Momoko asked.

"Every time you use it, it changes you. The Beserkers weren't wearing animal skins, they were changing into something people at the time couldn't recognise. If Clyde's dad is using the pendant, he's turning into one of the Berserkers. Luke, Clyde's in real danger." Maria said.

"Okay. Well, we'll deal with it. We'll find them." Luke said.

"How? He won't tell us where he is. He doesn't know us any more." Rani said.

"I reckon I can help with that. Well, UNIT can. They've got a satellite tracking system. All I need to do is put in Clyde's mobile phone number. Got him!" Alan said. "And Rena's giving an overhead view of them too. So, she's there to give Jared constant updates. But it depends on how she wants to do so. Until she has to hunt down a Witch."

Porsche…

"You having fun?" Paul asked.

"Oh, yeah!" Clyde said.

"Want more fun?"

"Oh, yeah."

So Paul and Clyde park in a No Parking area and go shopping, while Rena does a superhero landing nearby. The blue haired Magical Girl senses a Witch nearby and she took off the nanotechnology super suit. She transformed into her Magical Girl form and she entered the Witch's labyrinth alone. Luke, Rani, Jared, Momoko, and Kaede run down Bannerman Road to Clyde's house.

Street...

New clothes, shades, an electric guitar.

"Look at that. Put it on. Put these on." Paul said.

"They're cool. They're cool." Clyde said.

"Get in the car. We don't have time."

"Can I can play later, then."

"Play it later. I want some more stuff."

They drive off just before the traffic warden can get the ticket on the windscreen.

Langer home…

"Hi, Mrs Langer." Luke said.

"What have I told you, Luke?" Carla asked.

"Sorry, Carla."

"We need your help. It's about Clyde." Rani said.

Carla's car / Jared's hoverbike…

"Okay, kids. Belt up." Carla said, looking back at Rani and Luke.

"They're heading out of London." Jared said, looking over at Kaede who's in the sidecar. "Rena must have encountered a Witch. Momoko, hang on tight."

Porsche…

"Pretty cool, yeah? We can do anything, go anywhere. We're kings of the road. Kings of the world! You okay? Come on, what is it?" Paul asked.

"It doesn't matter." Clyde said.

"Just tell me what you're thinking."

"Why did you leave me?"

Side road…

They park near an overgrown roundabout.

"Me and your mum, we weren't working." Paul said.

"I know, but did you even try?" Clyde asked.

"Yeah, of course I did but, but these things happen."

"But you left me. I mean, today, it's been brilliant and mad and everything, but you left me. I was just a kid and you died."

"I didn't die."

"That's what it was like. My whole life up until that point had been you, Mum and me. The three of us. And then suddenly it was just me and Mum. And I was so scared. Every night, when I went to bed, I thought, what if Mum leaves me? What if I wake up and it's just me, alone?"

"I never realised. I'm sorry."

"Yeah, I know."

"Look, I just want to make it up to you. I want to make it better. I just. Look at me. I want you to forget all those feelings. Forget how I left you. Forget how you were scared and lonely. Forget it all." Paul said.

"I'll forget it all." Clyde said.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Come on then, Dad. Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise."

"Ah, tell me. You did say no secrets."

"All right. I always said I'd show you the world, right? Let's go and see it. Let's get a boat. A yacht. We'll go everywhere. Europe, America, Australia. This is the chance of a lifetime. Around the world, in a yacht."

"I know but, but Mum." Clyde said.

"What about her?" Paul asked.

"We should let her know if we're just going away."

"I thought we were cool. Right. Just forget about her, okay? Forget about your mum."

"I'll forget about Mum."

Carla's car / Jared's hoverbike…

"So, what did he say when you spoke to him?" Carla asked.

"Voicemail." Momoko said. "That's not good."

Momoko's phone, Rena, Kaede, and Jared's are linked up together in one massive voice call with Rani's. Who's in turn is linked up with Maria Jackson's phone.

"He's not answering his phone." Kaede said. "Um, what do we do?"

"I don't know." Jared said, speeding ahead. "I'm happy I have you guys by my side for this."

"Oh, he'll answer mine if he knows what's good for him." Carla said.

Porsche...

Clyde's phone rings, "Dad, what's Mum?"

"It doesn't matter, mate. It's just us from now on." Paul said.

Carla's car / Jared's hoverbike...

"Why isn't he answering? Where is he?" Carla asked.

"Luke's got it switched on. Can you get it to work?" Rani asked.

"Like, come on, this bike is running off of recyclables.." Jared said. "Please tell me you can find him. While Rena is fighting the Witch."

"And who are you lot talking to?" Carla asked.

"Oh, just one of Luke and Jared's geeky mates." Rani said.

Washington DC / Carla's car / Jared's hoverbike…

"Geeky? Cheers for that, Rani." Alan said.

"What are you doing to my sat-nav?" Carla asked.

"Oh, we're doing a simple GPS upgrade." Jared said, smiling.

"Yeah. Luke did it at Science Club." Rani said.

"Yeah? Okay." Carla said.

"OK, it should be just about, just about there. Any luck?" Alan asked.

The UNIT tracker downloads to the Sat Nav in Carla's and on the hologram GPS that's on the sidecar where Kaede is sitting in.

"Yes." Luke said.

"Yup." Momoko said, looking to her left to see a tracker that Kaede is looking at.

"It worked, thank you so much." Rani said.

"Um, thank you." Kaede said, seeing the dot that represents Clyde and the arrow that represents the hoverbike. "Jared, weave around the traffic."

"And that's definitely my Clyde on there?" Carla asked.

"Yup." Jared said, smiling. "It is. Straight, got it."

"Now listen to me. I want you to promise you'll talk to Sarah Jane as soon as possible, yeah?" Alan asked.

"Yeah, promise." Rani said.

"If Clyde's dad is, you know? You're putting yourselves in danger."

"I know. And we promise we'll be careful. We'll call you later."

Washington DC...

"And that's it? We just sit here and wait?" Maria asked.

"What else can we do?" Alan asked.

"I've got an idea. Get typing, Dad. And you thought we'd left it all behind."

Porsche…

"We're going to have such fun. You and me, travelling the world. The Langer boys in a yacht. It's going to be, it's going to be cool." Paul said, as he pulls in to a marina. "We're here."

Carla's car / Jared's hoverbike...

"They've stopped moving. You need to turn left here." Luke said.

"What he said." Kaede said. "Turn left."

"Crap." Jared said, his eyes widening. "I forgot where this adventure ends."

"The marina? He wants to take him away? He wants to take my baby! I don't think so." Carla said, angrily.

Lynport Marina…

Paul is clutching his arm and staggering a bit, "Look at it. There's nothing stopping us. We can go anywhere out there. Ow!"

"Dad? Dad? Dad? What's happening to you?" Clyde asked.

"We just need a boat. Argh! Clyde, help me!" Paul said.

"Help! Someone help me, please! Please help my dad." Clyde said, and Carla and Jared drove in. "It's OK, Dad. Someone's coming."

"You two, stay here." Carla said.

"Momoko, Kaede, stay here." Jared said, looking at the two Magical Girls as he got off the bike. "Actually, come."

"R...right." Kaede said, exiting the sidecar. "What are we gonna do?"

"She's going to see the pendant. She's going to see everything." Rani said.

"Yeah." Momoko said, jumping off the bike. "This is some really bad timing on my part."

"Clyde! Clyde!" Carla said.

"Please, please help us. My dad is ill and…" Clyde said.

"Oh!" Carla said, hugging Clyde.

"What are you doing? Get off me, you! Who are you?"

"Clyde, that's not funny. Seriously, don't mess about. Not now."

"How do you know my name? How does everyone know my name? You've got to help my dad, he's all I've got." Clyde said.

"It's me. It's Mum. What have you done to him, Paul? I knew you were trouble, but I never knew you could be such a monster." Carla said.

"That's not good." Kaede said, while Paul is covered in luminous blue veins, and has white irises. "What? What do we do?"

"He's not a monster. Dad? Please, will you help us?" Clyde asked.

"What's happening to me?" Paul asked.

"Mister Langer, it's the pendant. Every time you use it, it overpowers you." Momoko said.

"Clyde, get back. It's not safe." Carla said.

Paul grabs Clyde's arm, "He's my soldier and you can't stop us, because if you do, if you try to, I'll tell you to walk into the water. I'll destroy you all. Bwahahahahaha! This whole world will do as I say."

"Dad, please." Clyde said.

"I'm a Berserker and you will follow my orders." Paul said.

"Oh, I don't think so." Sarah Jane said.

"I had to deal with Candy. That bunny Witch." Rena said, exiting Sarah Jane's car. "Hi. Clyde won't do whatever you say."

"Sarah Jane! I don't understand what's happening. These people reckon I should know them, but I don't. Who are they?" Clyde asked.

"They are the most important people in your life. Okay, Clyde, I need you to trust me. You and me, we're going to sort all this out. Now we're going to put your dad right, before it's too late. Now, come on. Paul, now listen to me. You love your son, yes?" Sarah Jane asked.

"The war. I need him for the war. He's my soldier and he's going to be just like me." Paul said.

"Dad, no. Turn yourself back. Tell yourself to be human again." Clyde said.

"I'm better like this. I'm not useless or cool or scared. I'm a soldier. I'm a Berserker."

"I could get the pendant, put things right."

"No, Clyde. I'm not gonna lose you. By becoming berserk." Jared said, looking down at his charm. "Aqours, set up."

The armor then began being placed on Jared's body and he took out Ebb and Flow in bow form. The fanboy is looking around the place and he is coming up with a plan.

"Well, what then? I can't lose him." Clyde said.

"Clyde, um, you may not remember me." Kaede said, smiling. "But you have to make him remember. Make him remember who he really is. Deep, deep down, he's still your dad. Look at him."

"Clyde, be careful." Carla said.

"Yeah, be careful." Momoko said.

"Dad? Remember the park in Hounslow where you used to take me? Just think back to that." Clyde said.

"Be careful, Clyde." Luke said.

"Remember, ich heisse Clyde Langer." Clyde said.

"Remember how you felt when you first met me." Carla said.

"Remember how you came back for me." Clyde said.

"I remember." Paul said.

"Look in the pier." Jared said, looking at Paul. "Your reflection. Look at the ocean. Come on, this isn't you! Remember what you are! You're human! Paul Langer. Remember your life before the pendant! With your wife, Carla. And your son Clyde. Remember all of that! It didn't have Berserkers! You need to remember who you are!"

Paul screams and writhes until all the blue veins are gone.

"That's it. You're human, like the rest of us." Jared said, and Paul rips off the pendant and throws it onto the concrete slipway. "You're no Berserker!"

There is a big flash. Haresh collapses from exhaustion.

Porsche salesroom...

"Where's the car gone?" The salesman asked.

Lynport Marina…

The pendant stops glowing.

"Clyde?" Luke asked.

"You're not going to cry, are you? All right, Rani, Kaede? Hi, Mum." Clyde said.

"Oh, my darling!" Carla said, happily.

"I love you, Mum. Dad?"

"Come on, Jared, why did you leave me to take on the Witch by myself?" Rena asked. "Got something for me?"

"Yeah." Jared said, as Aqours produced a Grief Seed for the blue haired Magical Girl, from inside the metal plating. "There you go."

The Grief Seed is new and untouched, and it's been reinvigorated for Magical Girls. From the massive amount of grief from the fanboy.

"We tried calling you." Luke said.

"Alan searched the NHS database and found out which hospital I was in, and he managed to get a message to me. Rena came out from a Witch's Labyrinth and I picked her up. A Magical Girl here in Ealing stole her kill. So she couldn't get a Grief Seed. I've got some very clever friends." Sarah Jane said.

Clyde picks up the amulet, "What about this?"

"You know what to do." Jared said, walking towards Clyde. "Yang's gonna do the same to her mother someday. Maybe soon. When she confronts her."

"How much grief did you gather?" Momoko asked. "Was it a lot?"

"Within the last day?" Jared asked, looking back at Momoko. "A good amount. For a Grief Seed. It didn't use up my Aura at all. Since it's separate."

"So, um." Kaede said. "You designed this suit to create Grief Seeds for us. For, for us Magical Girls. And to fight Grimm, Noise, and Witches. To save people along the way."

"Yup. You girls carry a great burden. Fighting Witches forever. Going into despair. Better have a good power source somewhere."

"Doesn't it hurt?" Rena asked. "Doing all that? Like an idiot."

"Physically, yes. Mentally, only if I overthink things. Emotionally, definitely." Jared said, smirking. "Traveling with the Doctor. Defeating Grimm with Team RWBY. I lose a good amount of despair by turning it into Grief Seeds. For you Magical Girls, since you girls still need it. It's a win win."

"Hence why you haven't gone fully into despair nowadays." Momoko said, her eyes widening. "You're sad sometimes. But not all the time."

"Yup. Now come on! I saw this new ice cream place a while back! I want to go there!" Jared said, dragging Kaede away. "Come on!"

The fanboy hopped onto the hoverbike, with Kaede getting the sidecar, and Momoko is holding onto Jared, and Rena is holding onto Momoko.

"I'm sorry." Paul said, and under the picture of young Clyde, is an ultrasound scan of a foetus. "Mel is pregnant."

"What?" Clyde asked.

"That's why I ran away. I remembered what a useless dad I was to you."

"But I needed you."

"You're not a kid any more. You're cool. You don't need me."

"You're right. I don't need you. I've got Mum, Sarah Jane, Luke, Rani, Maria. Like how Jared has Team RWBY and Team JNPR. So I don't need you, but I think that baby does. Try not to mess it up. And you can take the car back, the clothes, everything. I'll go home with Mum." Clyde said, as Paul drives away.

Carla goes to Clyde, "So, what was that all about?"

"It was just what I do." Clyde said.

"It's dangerous. I tried so hard to keep you safe. Clyde, I can't cope with this." Carla said.

"And I want to keep you safe. I want you to be happy. Mum, forget about the pendant, forget about the aliens, and forget about what I do." Clyde said, while the pendant glows.

"Oh, flipping heck, it's cold. Where's your Dad?" Carla asked.

"Dad's gone."

"Sorry, Clyde."

"Me too. Let's go home." Clyde said, throwing the pendant into the water.

Attic...

"Knock, knock." Clyde said.

"Come in, Clyde." Sarah Jane said.

"I came to say…"

"I know."

"I shouldn't have brought him here."

"You wanted to impress your Dad. I'd probably have done the same. And Jared always wants to impress Team RWBY."

"Do you miss your Mum and Dad?"

"I can't really remember them. I was a baby when they died. Yes, sometimes I think I'd do anything to see them again. Go on, tell me what you're thinking." Sarah Jane said.

"Sometimes, sometimes people think I'm not bothered by stuff. That I'm always…" Clyde said.

"Clyde, you don't have to be cool all the time."

"There's a lot of my Dad in me. I saw that today, and I think, I think if it wasn't for you lot, I'd be weaker, like him."

"And I think you underestimate yourself. Now go on, get home. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Thank you." Clyde said, leaving the attic.

Sarah Jane goes to a drawer and takes out an old photograph of her parents from 1951.
