Escape
It eats.
Eats away at everything.
Every single piece of her, it eats away.
Little by little or just all at once. There isn't anything to stop this.
All she can do is defend against it, not that it helps much.
White, she stares at white.
For seconds into minutes, she stares into white.
Darkness, she dreams. Not at night, not anymore.
It haunts her all the time now.
Taunting and taunting. It never seems to end, the only light she sees is the white of the ceiling.
Irritated, she appears. Sure, it's one of many faces she shows. But her mask is the best of all. She hides and hides, buries and buries until she is driven to insanity.
The mind, her mind, it races and runs.
Like a movie, forcing her to relive the life she wished to be rid of.
She has tried, time and time again.
But it's no use, it can't be done so she gives up until the shadows taunt.
You know it? I'm sure you don't. How can you?
Understand that is, it's not something you can by sight.
You have to feel it, endure it and finally, live with it before you know it.
A curse? Maybe. When she thinks about it, that sounds about right. For a curse is a malicious cast that one is forever invaded by until the day they die.
It comes and goes but always comes and stays.
She sighs, again, the what, fifth time now? She lost count a long time ago.
Empty.
That's another one. Much different from Lonely. Why? Because you can never fill the void.
She listens to the song in her head, the ones she uses to cope.
She runs away into her dreams that always seem to cause more harm than good.
Dreams are beautifully dangerous for they are nothingness and only are given life to the imagination.
She is fine, for now. Calmed down by the illusions of her mind.
What's better? She thinks.
Life here in bliss, but crushed by reality? Or destroyed by the real.
Honestly, both sound equally as horrible.
She cries no more, she can't remember when.
The tears seem nothing but shame.
There's no need for it, she believes, allowing the frustrations a chance she can never have.
