Part IV

"She's not picking my calls anymore," Jessica stared at her phone "I just wanted to let her know I'll be leaving by noon tomorrow. What I said really must've annoyed her. I blurted tie words out without thinking how it would affect her. I was only thinking about myself, and I made it seem like I was the only one attached. I'm really a terrible person. I'm not worthy to be friends with anyone after all my mistakes. I'm really sorry Lijuan, and I hope you'll be happy without someone like me around."

Jessica wished she could see her again. At least for the last time. She'd miss her and the eleven years of knowing her. Their friendship was one she never thought she'd have after a past that made her think so low of herself. Despite their differences, and all that was happening in their lives, Jessica was still grateful to have met her and she'd always have that special place for her best friend in her heart.
