The group of Martial Saints and Human Immortals rethought everything they had ever known about the emperor. He came from a lower realm, he was the son of the grand elder and spent decades in the Foundation Establishment realm. He arrived in the Thousand Flames upper realm in the midst of war some 250 years ago. He married into the Creation God sect and conquered the entire world 200 years ago.
Most importantly of all, 200 years ago he defeated a True Immortal with the aid of his throne and the Zodiac formation. The golden ape they had just witness possessed power on par with that True Immortal. It easily dwarfed even Long Chi Bai at his best. Yet the emperor killed it.
You must know that it was impossible for anything below a True Immortal to kill a True Immortal as their bodies are one with the heavens. That ape might've had power on par with a True Immortal but it was fundamentally still mortal. But still, for the emperor to defeat it without any assistance with pure spell work was incredible.
"Sam as an Ozaru was barely a match for that Immortal 200 years ago. He had power but no control. I would only consider him barely a True Immortal" Hu Wenxi calmly said without looking at them. But a True Immortal's power was still legendary even if it was barely one. They knew the Immortal 200 years ago was very weak for a True Immortal yet his power suppressed the entire world the moment he stepped in.
Human Immortals were powerless the face of True Immortals, Immortals they may be but they were still humans. This was even worse for Martial Saints, they were even less then ants in the face of a True Immortal.
Hu Wenxi calmly observed the smouldering corpse beneath him. He raised his hand and one sandy gear appeared above him began charging power. It fired a concentrated beam of energy at the corpse reducing it further. The sand cloud from earlier re-condensed into a massive boar. This beast breathed fire attempting to roast the corpse further.
Hu Wenxi fired another gear and then another and then another. Even the dragon beneath him charged a beam of its own. Very soon the smouldering crater where the corpse lay increased a dozen kilometres more. The various experts were looking at their emperor in shock, 'He's already dead? Why are you doing this?'
In truth Sam brought forth painful memories of webnove.com to Wenxi. He knew he was being childish but he couldn't help himself. For the first time in centuries he was giddily firing energy blasts to destroy what's left of Sam. At this point there wasn't enough left of him to identify a body anymore.
After a while, the Tun Shan mountain range which was once thousands of kilometres long and hundreds tall disappeared forever off the face of Thousand Flames upper realm. This left many experts in a dazed state. Down below only remnants of ash remained.
"Good lord he's durable" mumbled Hu Wenxi as the dragon, boar and gears gradually disappeared. He dispelled the shield around the various experts and descended to the crater below. After examining the ashes for a bit he came to a shocking discovery. Admits the ashes of Sam there was a small palm sized silvery orb marked with various runes.
Hu Wenxi picked the orb up and examined it. He could make out the sexton the orb but he discovered that he could not see inside the orb nor figure out its mysteries. On top of the orb it read "Anime system Mark:04", on the back it read "If lost, please return to Kan Hon palace, 26th heaven".
"This is from the heavenly realm?" Hu Wenxi exclaimed in shock. The complete universe consisted of the Heavenly realm, the material universe and the netherworld. The Heavenly realm consisted of the High Heavens, a large landmass built around Mt Meru and housed many ancient lifeforms from the primordial era. It was orbited by 33 gargantuan landmasses called the 33 heavens.
If this orb belonged to one of these heavens then that's a powerhouse he cannot afford to offend. True Immortals are rare in the material universe but in the Heavenly realm they were far more common. The phrase Heaven's army of 100,000 Immortals was literal. The heavenly court really did posses armies of hundreds of thousands of True Immortals. What's scary was that many of them were Profound Immortals and even Primordial Immortals. Hu Wenxi didn't even want to think about the higher powers.
The orb gave off no energy signature but Hu Wenxi was sure that the energy it had was too profound for him to sense. "Should I leave it here? No, better to put it in a secure location. If its owner arrives then I can say I was safeguarding it for him. As a Human Immortal I have no way to enter the Heavenly realm".
"Either way, I would be dead if he wants me to be. No point coming up with contingencies" it was true, if a higher power from the Heavenly realm descend Hu Wenxi stood no chance of survival.
Putting the orb away into his inter spacial ring he greeted the arriving experts. "Wang Tian, I do not blame you so don't worry." Firstly he reassured his cousin and uncle before thinking about what to do with the Tun Shan Mountains or at least what was left of it.
"Do you lot have any suggestions for this place" he decided to receive the advise of his contemporaries instead. Looking around Qiang Mei Hua frowned, "Shen'er's house was here". Hu Wenxi felt a bit flustered but replied anyway, "I'll get him a villa at the northern mountains, it has a better view anyway".
Qiang Mei Hua nodded but still frowned. To the side the Human Immortals and Martial Saint experts began several suggestions. Taoist Infinity Heaven suggested rebuilding the mountains but Qiang Wang argued agains it and suggested a military base.
Someone suggested a resort while Lao Fu wanted to build a dedicated buddhist temple. The Buddhist temple wasn't actually a bad idea, 'if its big enough maybe we could convince on of the buddhism powerhouses to protect us'. Hu Wenxi was seriously giving it a though.
"Its an empty crater, why not fill it with water" Hu Wang Tian mumbled in a joking manner. But this got Hu Wenxi thinking, 'The space is big enough for many temples so yes we'll do this.
"I have decided, all your ideas hold merit, as such we will remake this place a lake. Then we will build the buddha temple onto of it. Since its water you could also invite some of your demon tribesmen to live here" that last bit was directed at the Demonic Ascendents. They all agreed. Tun Shan mountains had no true value aside from being a secluded training spot. There were plenty like it.
Satisfied the emperor left with the experts back to the capital. When they arrived at the stadium they discovered that Sam 'friends' were standing about in a daze. Varies Azure Sky continent elders were checking them over and helping them. Some of them even asked what was going on.
It seems in Sam's delusions, he tricked both him and them into believing they were 'friends' and his 'precious people'. It made Hu Wenxi pity these poor fellows. When he greeted his subjects before him they all bowed in respect and thanks.
Finally the menace that was Sam was eliminated. No longer will the Azure Sky continent suffer under him. However this incident made Hu Wenxi wary. He was now aware people like anime system SIs exist in this world, he would have to be more wary from now on. Nevertheless the major threat was now gone.
After the incident with Sam was fully exclaimed, many people praised the emperor. By the next morning newspapers were signing his praise left right and centre. Now that Sam's place was effectively removed Hu Wang Tian suggested putting Hu Jin Shen back in the tournament to fill in the slots. However Hu Jin Shen already soundly lost hence Hu Wenxi decided against allowing Jin Shen to participate.
He knew Hu Wang Tian was likely trying to curry favour with him. As a member of the imperial clan Hu Wang Tian held a lot of sway, he could affect who participated in the tournaments by using his status as the emperor's cousin. Overall Sam did not cause too much damage, unfortunately the imperial clan's image did dip thanks to them hosting such a man.
However this was mainly gossip by housewives. The Imperial clan did have it better then most. Their position was still very high up. Aside from this the emperor was still beloved by the people for removing this criminal, to cultivator faction's higher ups on the other hand received a wake up call to the emperor's power.
The remaining participants received the news that only one fight will continue and one participant will skip to the final round. Due to ungodly amounts of luck Yun Xiao Che skipped to the finals much to the displeasure of the Luo kingdom.
Inside the Hu compounds in the imperial palace, Hu Wang Tian was having a heated argument with his son.
"Dad, Sam was a guest of ours and my friend. How could you sit back and watch him die?"
"Son let this matter drop, his majesty doesn't blame us so its fine"
"But dad, he was going to marry cousin Hu Lan Yue you said so. Even the lady concubine was giving it some though".
"That was because she was incompetent, do you really think the emperor will marry the princess off because you said so?"
"Then what about cousin Xinxin? Sam took a liking to her, and he was a strong expert. With him around the empress can never threaten us"
"Don't go down that train of though son. The emperor and empress have always been gracious to us".
"No dad, you always bend over backwards to that outsider"
PA! Hu Wang Tian backhanded his son across the face. Hu Diyi had always hated ever since he was born that Hu Wenxi was the absolute leader of the Hu clan. He had heard stories about his father in his youth that his line was once the main line and led the Hu family for centuries. He had always considered Hu Wenxi an outsider as despite their blood relations he married the saints of the Creation God sect. What's more Hu Wenxi chose to distance himself with his family when he became emperor.
This planted a deep hatred and a desire to remove Hu Wenxi as emperor. As his father Hu Wang Tian was a mighty expert at the Martial Saint realm he though he could challenge Hu Wenxi for the throne. After all its not too difficult for talented individuals to battle those a realm above them.
However Hu Diyi grossly misunderstood that concept. You see at the lower realms, the power difference is nowhere near as huge as in higher realms. A Foundation Establishment expert could defeat a Golden Core expert just like how a Spirit Transformation like Hu Diyi can win against weaker Xiantian experts. However the difference between a Martial Saint and Human Immortals was immense. It was larger then the difference between Qi condensation to Crossing Tribulation.
This was also why so few saints ever become Human Immortals, the gap was simply ridiculous. Hu Diyi was used to challenging Xiantian experts on equal footing so he grossly underestimated his father's ability. This was because Hu Wang Tian had defeated a Heavenly Connection elder before as a Xiantian realm expert.
"No son, remember this. Hu Wenxi can easily destroy you, me, your grandfather and the entire Hu clan if he wants to. Don't think about going against him. I tried once. Once" with that said Hu Wang Tian left Hu Diyi behind to contemplate.
Far away at the location of Sam's corpse a slit in reality opened. Out stepped a middle aged sloppy man wearing casual clothing and messy hair. There was stubs of hair on his chin.
"Damn, and the testing wasn't even done" this man signed in retreat. He looked towards the imperial palace's location in the distance. "I can't stay here long else I'll get in trouble. But I also need to retrieve that device".
The middle age men tensed, he could already feel experts in the heavens noticing his descent. He doesn't have much time so he turned to the ash pile. "You can be of some use again" he waved his hand and the ash slowly began to reform into the shape of a teenager.
"G-god?" He questioned weakly seeing the vague image of the man who reincarnated him. Sam's mind was in chaos and couldn't make coherent thoughts. The middle age man looked at the teenager, "I gave you an opportunity but you squandered it. Oh well you were just a test subject to begin with. I'll give you one last chance to be useful"
Sam felt something penetrate his very essence. This was changing him. Soon the middle age man left leaving behind something far more sinister.
