CHAPTER 88: AFTERMATH (1)

"You really did it..."

When I wake up, I am in the inner soul. I must have fainted after using draconic energy. Immediately, I notice that something is wrong. The trees that were previously full of leaves are now like dead trees, and there are no leaves on them. But that's not all, Sitting there, I see Cissa, sitting on a tree stump but she is grey like a stone statue.

"What happened here?"

"Depletion." I hear Cissa's voice everywhere. "You have used almost all the draconic energy that was gathered until now."

"I see. And when will you return to normal?"

"Soon enough. I would say around three weeks. But our soul is unstable now because you have a premature power. At this rate, you might not be able to use draconic energy again."

"Shit. And there is no solution?"

"One of the dragons who are in this world resonated with us. We should seek him out."

"Asking for help from somebody, no thanks. I have seen how it ends."

"That or you won't be able to use draconic energy the same way. Dragons are not like humans from what I can see."

"And where can we find him? If there were really dragons in Shcamerin, people would talk about them, instead of describing lizards."

"Don't worry. You will know in time. For now, head east."

"Okay, I will try to find him, at least. I am not sure about asking for help, however."

"Do as you wish, it's not like I can stop you. Also, you have been asleep for a day. So that means you won't be able to use Angas for another six days. Keep it in mind before trying something crazy again."

"Yeah, I know."

When I go back to reality, K'nor is all over me. His tail is covering me like a blanket, and my head is on his belly.

"Hello, slept well K'nor?" I pat his head, waking him up. He starts licking my face.

We are in the forest near Nargil. I wonder how I manage to come here after what happened; I can't remember. Or maybe K'nor came to pick me up. I stand up and look at myself. My clothes are even dirtier than before, torn up, stretched, and bloodied everywhere. Even Selene's coat is now torn up with holes. I can see with both of my eyes, so Cissa managed to heal it. Mark's slash was pretty bad now that I think about it.

"That fucking betrayer!!"

I bring out my raizen and look at my reflection. Although it is not that visible, I have a scar on my left eye, going through my eyebrow and a bit below my eyelids. When I close my right eye, the left one sees perfectly, so I guess there is no problem.

"Let's get out of here K'nor."

"Woof!" There are some bones near K'nor when he stands up. Must be gragoras.

We walk through the forest walking normally, and after ten minutes, I see it—the remnants of Nargil. The walls have disappeared, the guild, everything. You can see some buildings that somehow survived far away, but that's it. There is still smoke coming from the center of the crater that is at least twenty meters deep.

"So, that's draconic energy…" Last time I used it; the crater was not that big. Or maybe it is because I used more energy this time?

I turn around and head towards the east like Cissa said.

"K'nor, you will have to carry me a bit, sorry."

"Woof! Woof!" I climb on K'nor back, and he starts running.

"Oh shi-" When he accelerates, my neck almost breaks from the change of speed. It is my first time riding him, and I must admit, this guy is too fast. Running using physical and wind Angas, he cuts through the air like there is no resistance at all. It takes everything I have to stay on him and not fall. And he can even take turns while running that fast like nothing.

***

"Stop!! Stop!!" K'nor finally stops when I tell him to after running for a good while, I don't even know where we are, but I am sure we have covered a very long distance. No, we went too far, actually. When I look behind me, I see a village with three watchtowers. I wonder which village it is.

"You went too far." He whines and looks at me with a sad look.

I wanted to ask the people there where is the next city but seeing as I just destroyed Nargil, I might look suspicious, so it is better this way. We continue walking with K'nor but slowly this time. When the night falls, we stop, and I cut a tree with my raizen. It is relatively easy with my sharp raizen. When I finish cutting the branches of the tree, I place my hand trying to use fire Angas.

"Ah, fuck." I forgot I couldn't use Angas. What can I do? I wanted to cook something, but without fire, it is impossible. Oh, well, no can do, I will find something tomorrow morning. We go hunting and after bringing some meat back, I cut it and give it to K'nor. He just gulps it down since they were cut in small size.
