An Entirely New Place

"Wake up jackass!!" I groan at the yelling of Ashley as she walks into my room to see that I was no where near ready to leave yet.

"Jeez girl. You get so excited to go throw down a couple of monsters so you wake up early, but yet you don't wake up for anything else? I will never understand you."

I feel myself drifting off to sleep once again after hearing Ashley's little speech. I feel so at peace when I sleep. Its a place where I can imagine whatever I want or just simply relax in the calm and silent place where I can let all of my worries wash away. But of course I feel myself being poked by Ashley who is probably giggling like there's no tomorrow. I sit straight up as I feel myself punch something that was poking me as I scream,

"DON'T WAKE ME UP IN THE MORNING!!" I look around my room confused as no one was around. Odd. I could have sworn that someone or something was poking me. I get out of bed only to see that my window was broken. I went over to it to see Ashley hanging off of the side with pure terror in her eyes. I stare blankly at her before walking back to my bed. Wait a minute.

"ASHLEY!!" I scream realizing that I must have punched her when I woke up. As I helped her back in from the window, she curled herself up in a ball as tears stream down her face for a moment. She gets up pretty fast before looking at me.

"Remind me to never wake you up from your sleep."

"Sorry..." I say scratching the back of my bed head. After taking a nice warm shower, I get changed into a multi colored light off one shoulder shirt with only one sleeve, and my grayish black skirt along with my favorite boots to wear. I walk out of the bathroom to see that Ashley was packing up my stuff. I completely forgot that we were going to earth today. I walk over to Ashley who was wearing her hair up in a high pony tail, her usual light blue off the shoulders long sleeve sweater that had royal markings all over it. She also wore a bit of a longer skirt the same color as mine, and shorter boots. As she takes my back full of clothes down towards the carriage, I stare back into my room as I carry another smaller bag on my shoulder. Goodbye for now I thought as I closed the door to my room. In a way it was sad to be leaving this place. I'm not sure how much I'm going to miss it, but I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens at this new world. I walk down the halls of the castle for possibly the last time for a while. My footprints echo throughout the silent empty halls. some of the servants saw me walking and waved at me. I waved back knowing that I wouldn't see them for a long time. In a way it was kinda sad. These people took care of me basically my entire life. Its really hard to see them knowing that I wouldn't see their faces for possibly a really long time. I walk through this hall with my mind overwhelmed with my thoughts, my memories. It instantly became the halls of memories as I walk towards the open door. The light from outside blinded me for a moment before I get used to the light of the early morning. As my eyes adjusted to the glowing sun, I spot Ashley helping my mom pack in all of her stuff along with the two bags that I had packed.

"Geez Ash. Did you pack your whole room?" I ask her sarcastically as she rolls her eyes at me with slight annoyance.

"For your information, we have absolutely no clue how long we are going to be gone for. I like to be prepared unlike others who prefer not to think ahead."

"Sure. Just keep telling yourself that weirdo." I pat her on her left shoulder as I walk over to the carriage to put my bag into it. I walk back over to Ashley to find her staring off into the direction of the castle. I follow her gaze confused when I saw what she was looking at. At the front of the castle, you could see my mom and father arguing. This was nothing new. I expected it. I look back at Ashley who was giving me a worried look.

"I'm fine Ash.This is normal for me. I try not to let it get to me." She smiled a little at the fact that I can see past my parents bickering. Ashley and I step into the carriage while my parents continue to argue. Ashley and I played games and talked for about 20 minutes when my mom and father entered the carriage. my father glares at me as I glare back. He turns away annoyed at my expression. The carriage starts to move breaking the acward tension between me and my father. As the carriage started to move I heard something like a tear into space and time. I climbed out the window to the door as I climbed onto the roof of the carriage. I could hear the distant panic from Ashley as I climbed up here. My father was cursing while my mother was silent. in front of the carriage was a portal to the other universe that I was heading into. It looked like a tear in the sky as it was filled with a variety of colors. Blue, Green, Purple, Pink, Red, Orange and Yellow. it was like I was staring into the night sky and the sunsets of Isla all at once. It was so beautiful. As we entered the portal, a bright light blinded me for a second before my eyes could adjust to the new scenery. I was in aw of how similar Isla and this 'earth' was. But at the same time, they were different. I looked around, studying earths features. From the lush green looking trees to the weird shaped buildings all over the place. Instead of tiny villages, they had big weird shaped buildings. There were almost little to no homeless in this place. Everyone had a place to call home. It was so odd to see so many things that I had never seen before. There were people walking a small creature with four legs ears and a tail. Other people were looking down at a small box in their hands as well. some carried bags on their backs as well. The carriage stops in front of a huge building that had multiple ways into the building. The structure of the place looked very strange from what I was used to back in Isla. I was so lost in some sort of transe by this place that I almost didn't notice the carriage stop. I hop off the top of the carriage as the other people living in this place start to stare at me. Ashley eminently rushed up to me. Tackling me in a bear hug.

"Don't ever scare me like that again you weirdo!" I swore that she was going to break my ribs if she didn't stop squeezing me so hard.

"Ash....I can't....breathe.." I manage to squeak out while she lets go of me. I breathed in hard quickly catching air as she apologizes to me. As I quickly catched my breath, I look at Ashley who was a bit nervous.

"Geez Ash. Are you trying to kill me??"

"Sorry. You gave me a heart attack with that stunt from earlier."

"Sorry. Curiosity gets the best of me."

"Sure it does." Ashley says with a blank stare. I start to walk over to my mom who was just getting out of the carriage when I feel my foot slip from underneath me. I stare up into the sky as I had fallen to the ground.

"28th time this month!" I shout sarcastically as I quickly hoist myself off the ground. Before I could take another step forward, my mom starts to drag me into this weird looking huge building that we had stopped in front of. This place looked even more strange from the inside. People all around us were staring. Some were holding what looked to be ancient scrolls in the shape of a box. I don't know why these people would need to study ancient scrolls but maybe that's an earth custom? others had a backpack on their backs which made me wonder why they needed those. Although, dispite the weird things they hold or have on their backs, I was very intrigued by the type of clothes they wore. My clothing looked to be like the overdressed fancy person compared to everyone else. I'm now more curious to what this place has in store for us. Suddenly I feel myself drop to the ground. I got up to find that my parents stopped at a door. I was confused for a minute before I see the words on it. It said 'Principals office.' My parents walked in dragging me and Ashley in with them. Sitting their, at a small table with papers all over it, was a man. He seemed to be one of the only people in this place that seemed like the fancy type. He had his hair slicked back and his hands were folded on the table.

"Can I help you?" His voice was deep and serious. I wondered if he was in charge here.

"Hello Mr. Sullivan. My name is Annabeth Dragonheart. This is my Husband, Aaron Dragonheart and our Daughter Crystal Dragonheart. This is Ashley Gold, Crystal's friend. We would like to enroll them at this High School." High School?? What the hell is a High School?

"Where are you from?"

"Another universe."

"How do you expect me to believe that you all are from another universe?" Just as he said this my parents pull out a chest full of gold, jewelry, and rare minerals.

"Welcome to Richfield High School!!" I giggled a little to see the expression on his face after my parents pulled out the gold. As I was looking around the room, I saw this weird little switch on the wall. I flipped it down to find that the lights went out. Oh shit! did I break the lights? I panicked in my head. I quickly switched the tiny switch again to see that the lights came on again.

"Woah! Ashley! Look at this weird thing!" I said as she walks over to me with a confused facial expression. I flipped the small switch as the light went off. Ashley looked at the light with aww as she stares wide eyed at light. I switched the light on and off in delight as the light flickers on and off. We both turn back around in a bit of confusion after this so called 'Principal' says to my parents,

"These two are going to need a guide." My parents agreed as Ashley and I look at each other with wonder. We stopped playing with the interesting switch that controlled the lights as my parents started to leave the room out to the front where the carriage was. When we arrived at the front of this weird place, my mom pulls ash and I aside as my father emptied the back of the carriage.

"Crystal, Ashley, I have to go now. Watch after each other. Make sure she is safe Ashley. I am counting on you."

"Yes my queen." Ashely says as she bows. My mom looks at me. I focus my attention towards her. She looks into my eyes with a serious expression on her face.

"Crystal. I think you will really like it here, but don't get too attached. When we know it is safe for you to come home, we are going to want you to come back ok?"

"Yes, I know mom."

"I also have to warn you. Don't use your powers in front of these people. If they knew about your powers, we may never see you again. Do you understand." I was silent for a moment. I had a feeling she would mention my powers. That is one thing that I didn't want her to mention.

"I understand mom." She hugs me as Ashley walks over towards the carriage to grab her stuff.

"Stay safe my rebel queen." I smile as I hug her back. Rebel Queen. I haven't heard that nickname in a long time. My mom breaks away from the hug as she walks over to the carriage. I noticed that Ashley Took my stuff out of the back before I even got the chance too. I walked over to her as my mom walks into the carriage. She looks back at me. I give her a sweet smile. She smiled back at me as the servant driving the carriage closes the door. The carriage takes off with a portal in front of them wide open. I watch as the carriage disappears into the magical void of the portal. Moments later, it vanishes into thin air, leaving Ashley and I standing there in this strange place that could do literally anything to us.

"Ok then." I said out loud as I start to run all over the place taking in all my surroundings.

"Crystal! What are you doing?!" Ashley yells as I run towards the top of this huge metal pole with some sort of flag on top of it while ignoring her question. I run over to this concrete wall as I jump up on top of it climbing all the way to the top of this weird building. I look around to see that there were tons if not thousands of weird looking buildings all over the place. There were odd looking paths on the road along with these carriages that don't need horses to move. What the hell is with this place? I thought in my head as I start to climb back down from the top of the building. As I started to climb down I feel my foot slip. My grip on the cracks of the wall slips as I feel myself freefalling towards the ground. Shit! I can't use my powers in front of these people. I close my eyes as I brace for impact only to be stopped by something below me breaking my fall.
