Ashley and I were struck dumb at what we were hearing.
"Wha??" We both said in unison.
"You and Ashley leave first thing in the morning. There will be two different families waiting there for you two. They will get you settled in until it is safe to come back home. Sound fair?"
"Y-Yes father."
"Hmm. For once you listened to me. That's a first. Anyway, have your things packed and all ready to go by dawn." My father and mother left me there as they headed back to the castle that was close to being fully repaired from the whole pterodactyl thing. I couldn't believe what just happened. I was leaving Isla? My home? What is so bad that he would want to send me away like this?
.....
Ashley's Point of View
I headed back to the house packing everything I could possibly need for the trip. In all honesty, I never expected to be traveling to a place I don't have a clue about. I would be surprised if Crystal was taking this the wrong way. I was so lost in thought that I was shocked by the sudden slam from downstairs. I heard a familiar voice echoing through the house. I walk down the stairs of my home to see that very same servant that Crystal and I helped the other day. He was out of breath a d sweating so much that my mom had to grab not only a cold glass of water but a small rag soaked with cold water in it. How the literal hell did he know where I was? As I walk over to the servant he noticed me. He tried to move but had no luck in doing so.
"Mom. What's going on?" I asked as she looked back at me with a surprised look.
"Oh! Ashley! This servant says he was searching all over the place to find you."
"Why??" I asked confused. My mom looked away from me with a worried expression on her face before saying,
"According to this messenger, Crystal has gone missing." My eyes widened. I rushed out the door in a hurry as I pass by multiple villagers who were confused to see me running through the village instead of Crystal. You god damn idiot Crystal! Why do you all the sudden decide to run off like that. I yell in my head with frustration. I stop in front of the palace breathing heavily. I felt a small rock fall on my head as I was about to check the entire castle for her. I looked up at the highest point of the castle. I sighed. Still exhausted from running all the way over here. I knew where she was. The other guards of the palace see me as I walk into the palace.
"Miss Gold! Have you seen the princess?"
"No need to worry about that maniac. She's tougher than she looks."
"Do you know where she is?"
"Call off the search party. There's no need to get her even more stressed out than she already is." The guard was confused but agreed as he ran over to tell the other guards that were searching high and low for this crazy ass chick. After an hour or so climbing step after step of the castle stairs, I reach a large open window in a small tower at the top of the huge castle. Looks like I was right. I looked out the open window to see her sitting there with her black hair floating in the wind. Her legs were tucked into her chest as she had her arms wrapped around them. I step out of the open window to see one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen of Isla. Its really sad how much I'm going to miss this place. I walk over to Crystal. I punch her in the shoulder as she winches and looks up at me.
"What was that for?!"
"Hey dofus, you scared the living crap out of everyone in the palace."
"One of the servants went to go find you didn't he."
"Well duh! You can't up and run off like that without giving somebody in the castle a freaking heart attack you know!"
"I know..." She didn't look like herself let alone act like it either.
"What's wrong? I know you have something on your mind Crystal." She stayed silent for a while before answering my question.
"OK. You caught me. I'm nervous." I look at her confused.
"Since when do you get nervous? I thought you were miss tough girl who never got nervous."
"This is different Ashley!" She didn't use my nickname like she normally would at times.
"Is it about this place that were going to?" She nodded. I get it now. We've never been to this place before, who knows what we should be expecting to see there. She has every right to be nervous about that.
"I don't know what Earth is going to be like either. We're in the same boat Crystal."
"I know I shouldn't be worried about it, but what if it's worse than the torcher chamber? Why else would he want to send me away like this?"
"Probably because he still has a heart. I know that you have had bad experiences with your father, but if he is sending both you and me to a entirely different universe, than he has a good reason for doing so."
"But you don't know what he has done to me."
"Yes I do Crystal. I've seen what happens to you when you get extremely sad or upset before. I know what he has done to you because you would always talk to me about this stuff." She looked at me with worried eyes. I hate that look. I place my hand on her shoulder and said to her with a comforting smile,
"I will always have your back in the end. whatever happens, we'll face together." She smiled at me as I spoke to her. I stand up from where I was sitting.
"Now quit moping and face this place head on like you always do!" She stands up from where she was sitting as well with massive confidence.
"What did I do to deserve a great friend like you Ashley Gold?"
"In all honesty, some part of me thinks that you may have forced this relationship in some way." She laughs at my response as I laugh along with her. There's the Crystal Dragonheart that I remember.
.....
Crystal's Point Of View
Ashely's right. I can't keep moping around anymore. That's not the way I do things. I do things my way.
"Alright then. Since your all better now, why don't we head back in." Ashley starts walking towards the window that I had come out of when I stopped her.
"Thats not the way I get down from here. Thats the easy way in and out."
"Ok? what's the other way then?" I gave her an evil and iritating grin as she looks at me with confusion.
"Whats with that look on your face?" She asks me still confused. Just before she reacts to my expression, I pick her up while saying,
"Welcome to the fun way down!" I threw her off the tower as I jump off laughing my ass off as she screams with flailing arms all over the place. that ground comes closer and closer in sight. As the ground comes into view I see that Ashley lands right into the humongous pile of hay that I put there for safety measures. I fly into the pile of hay feeling much better from before. I stand up as if nothing had happened I walk towards the solid ground and start to sprint away from a angry Ashley that was soon about to erupt from the hay pile. I am grateful though. She helped me so much with that crazy meltdown. I think she'll appreciate the note that I left for her when she finds it. After all, what kind of person would I be without my best friend by my side.
