A Sinister Plot

Walking into the hall, saw her parents come in. She ran towards them to welcome them home but stopped in her tracks when she saw two unknown guests enter behind them. Surprisingly they were two teenagers - a boy and a girl. The boy looked a few years older than her and had a tall posture with a charming face and extremely calm eyes, moreover there existed an extraordinary aura around him.

The girl who came in was about the same age as her, and had features astonishingly similar to her. What was more intriguing was that her mother was holding the girl's hand as if she was afraid of the girl disappearing. Suddenly she noticed that not only her, but her mother also shared similar features with the girl.

The girl had her beautiful eyes fixated on her, with joy and excitement flashing in her eyes. Meiling's heart skipped a beat as she thought of something.

'Could it possibly be?'

As if giving an answer to her question, Ling Xiu walked over with the girl before grabbing both their hands and clasping them together in her palm.

"Xiao Ling, she... she is your long lost sister - Meimei!" she said with a smiling face, trying her best to hold her tears.

Both girls stood rooted for a while, observing each other before embracing each other and crying out "Sister!" in unison. Then they both started chatting excitedly.

Seeing the scene, everyone felt warm in their hearts but Ling Hong felt bitter at the same time. He thought about how helpless his sister had been in his previous life. Seeing the two girls happily chat, he clenched his fists reminding himself that he should become strong enough so that he could cut off any and everything that blocked their path to happiness.

At this moment, a middle aged woman came into the hall hearing the voices. She was dressed in a housekeeper attire - she was the head housekeeper Ms. Liu.

"Sir and Madam, welcome back." she said with a smile but soon froze on the spot as she saw the Young Mistress chat with another girl who looked very similar to her. Having been in the house for so long, she realized who she was at first glance.

"Congratulations to Sir and Madam for finding the missing Young Mistress" she said with a bow and added "The meal has been prepared and has been laid out. I am feeling a bit tired today so I'll be taking a rest."

Ling Hong had been observing the place with his divine sense all the time, knowing that there may be someone aiming to hurt his sister. True to his deduction, the moment the new lady eyed Meimei, her soul began to fluctuate as an malicious intention flickered for a while. Seeing this, he frowned. Looks the enemy already had people inside, even in high places!

Just as she turned around and left, he saw her pulling out her phone, apparently messaging someone. He flicked his sleeves as a silver needle appeared in his hands. While everyone was surprised, he quickly dashed over to her back and knocked her out with a chop. His hands danced around as he pricked several acupoints, which made sure that she would sleep for some time and her memory muddled.

By this point, everyone in the hall were surprised at his sudden reaction. Hua Jun's face was gloomy - he had invited the young man to his home but the first thing he did was knock out their housekeeper. Just as he was about to raise his voice, Ling Hong made a gesture of staying still.

Hua Jun was an intelligent man, he soon figured out the situation - Ling Hong never met her so it wasn't a personal grudge and he would only take action for his sister. He also believed in his judgement of the young man, so he patiently waited for an explanation.

Ling Hong walked over to the now unconscious Ms. Liu and grabbed the phone from her hands. As he saw the screen he knew his guess had been right - she had indeed sent a message to someone relaying the news of Meimei's arrival. He walked over to the others and handed the phone to Hua Jun, who received it and studied the screen before his face grew ugly with anger apparent on his face.

"What a good housekeeper! Over 20 years of working and this is her gratitude." he sneered. Turning back to Ling Hong, he said with a solemn voice "Little Ling, I am really ashamed. If you hadn't taken action then we would've never noticed her!"

"I'm afraid the matter is not so simple!" Ling Hong sighed in response.

"What do you mean?" Hua Jun asked, puzzled.

"Uncle Hua, think about it - she had been with your family all these years - and as soon as you returned 14 years ago mishaps have been occurring one after the other. I'm afraid she was a chess piece someone has been using against you all this time!" Ling Hong replied.

He suddenly stared at Hua Meiling for a while before walking across the room towards the girl. Meiling just looked in surprise at this man who her parents brought back - who exactly was he?

Ling Hong grabbed Meiling's hands before checking her pulse a few times. He suddenly laughed aloud and looked back, puzzling everyone.

"It's exactly like I thought." he said. "There has never been a heart disease from the start, it's much more sinister - a Gu Insect that grows as it sucks blood from the heart! That is why nobody could cure her."

"Gu Insect? You mean Voodoo arts?" Hua Jun was horrified. Never in his wildest dreams he thought that his little girl was in such a predicament.

"Yes" Ling Hong nodded and relayed his thoughts to Hua Jun.

"There is a very high chance that everything, starting from Meimei's disappearance 14 years ago was all panned by someone. The other party is very calculative and powerful, he even got your housekeeper under him. I'm afraid that your family has been the center of a decade long scheme!" he said with a cold glint in his eyes.

Hua Jun was shocked by the hypothesis in front oh him, scared even. But what made him sweat was that it seemed very probable. If it wasn't exposed by Ling Hong, they would not even find this hidden danger. Seeing the kid's sharp thoughts, he decided to turn to him for further actions.

"Little Ling, what do you think we should do now? And how to deal with the spies?" he asked.

Ling Hong silently sat down as he played several scenarios in his head. Although the Hua family were strangers to him, his little sister was one of them now and he wanted to give it his all in protecting her. Undoubtedly, he had to pull up this scheme by the roots to ensure a smooth future for her. After a few seconds, he had come up with a plan that could solve all problems in on go.

"Uncle Hua, in my opinion the best idea is to pretend as if nothing happened and let the spies as they are." he said.

"What?" Hua Jun was surprised by the reply.

"Let me finish" Ling Hong said, smiling "We let the spies as they are and observe Ms. Liu. She is possibly the highest point of contact for them in this villa. So by watching her we can catch all the spies in one swoop."

"Later, by tracking their accounts and calls we can find the trail that leads to the mastermind. The person himself won't be involved but it would atleast be on of his personal men. As such, when we catch the guy, the identity of the mastermind would be unveiled." he finished.

"Great plan!" Hua Jun said, slapping his thigh. Although he had his doubts, following Ling Hong's plan would definitely be the safest way.

"Then I'll leave it to Uncle Hua then. I'll also see if I can do anything, one of the kids from the orphanage had great hacking skills so I'll look for him. We used to call him 'Crazy Chen'." Ling Hong said.

"Crazy Chen?" Hua Jun was surprised as this name sounded familiar. He then remembered the conversation in the morning as he obtained the information.

"Could the person you are referring to be Guo Chen?" he asked cautiously.

"You know him?" Ling Hong was surprised.

"He started working for me a year ago. I even got your information from him. That's right, he also mentioned that you might be his acquaintance! So it is indeed true." Hua Jun replied while laughing.

"That's good then. I'll not have no worries if I leave this task to him, I'll meet him soon." Ling Hong said and stood up.

"Now, lets get started on curing your daughter."
