The Parking Lot

Third-person POV

(Flashback to the last class)

The teacher started with the lesson and in between gave time for the students to interact and solve the questions that she posed.

Noah, Geroge, and Katie were getting along quite well. Although it was not much, this is the most talkative Noah had been from the past few days. Katie was the one who kept making advances for Noah to interact.

"Noah, you think we should write in this format. I don't think it seems to be right. How about this one.", Katie asked.

"Or this one... I think this seems better than the one we tried before.", Katie looked cheerful. This made Noah smile.

Katie was getting a feeling that Noah was a bit upset or lost and she kind of hinted at George too to make Noah feel better. So, she would ask him little-little questions even though she knew the answers or did understand what it meant. This made Noah a bit busy not giving him enough time to get lost in his thoughts again.

But to Ava, it looked like Noah giving all the attention to Katie. She gritted her teeth. She did not understand why she was feeling all weird every time Katie and Noah got closer. She did not like what she was feeling. She just wanted them to disappear from her sight but well, she was the one who was constantly staring at the two. She kept looking at the clock hoping the time would pass soon.

Ava POV

Looks like you finally got some guts. You are not going to submit anymore, huh? So, you are planning to go against me? Just because that 'Principal's daughter' is being friendly with you, you think you can escape me. You can't. I will not let you. You think she can save you. Well, you are wrong. I will make you understand that you are MINE. Mine to torment. No one. I mean no one ever stood up against me.

You just wait for the class to finish.

Noah's POV

She hurt my friend. My only friend. I have started bringing trouble to the people around me. No, this cannot be happening. I need to get out of this mess. George has nothing to do with anything. This is why I do not make friends. I can't get others in trouble because of me. I just can't let this happen. Not again.

I am not going to take it anymore. I thought she was just going to play around for a while and I can deal with that but this is going out of hand.

*Sigh

I need to step up..... again.

Third-person POV

..

"So, it's about time you make up for what happened today. Let's go.", Ava takes Noah's arm and drags him out of the class.

Ava drags Noah to the parking lot, the others rush behind them. Noah shrugs his hand free and stands tall in front of her.

"What do you want?", Noah demands.

"Are you forgetting your place? Talking to me in that tone?", Ava goes near Noah.

"You broke the deal. I don't have to listen to you anymore. You..."

Ava grabs Noah's jaws.

"Listen... I am the one who makes the deal and I am the one who can destroy it. It was your stupid friend who interrupted. So, he had to pay for it, alright?", Ava leaves Noah's jaw.

Noah staggered trying to balance himself. George stepped up.

"No, don't. Stay back.", Noah warned George. He can't get him into any more trouble.

"I don't care about your deal. You hurt my friend, the deal is over.", Noah said in a rather cold tone.

'Again with his friend. What is so special about him that you don't even care about yourself?', Ava thought. Ava punches Noah.

George rushes in front of Noah.

"Don't hurt him. Please don't.", George pleads.

Ava was furious to see George. 'You... you are the reason he stands up against me. I am going to destroy you.'

Ava kicked George. George fell. Allen was going to help George but stopped when Noah held him. Allen was not liking the entire situation for some reason. Somehow it hurt him to see Noah and George being bullied by Ava. Well, this was the first time he felt like that.

"I told you to stay back. Why did you?", Noah holds on to George helping him stand up.

"So, you said the deal is over. Sure. That means I can hurt both of you since you are not going to listen to me anyway.", Ava said.

"You better stay away from us.", Noah took a step ahead. George held his hand to stop him.

Noah looked at George. George was in pain. His eyes were pleading him to not get into the trouble

"Oh, I am so scared. Is the scaredy-cat trying to turn into a wild cat?", Ava mocked.

"How childish.", Noah scoffs.

This infuriated Ava. She took a step towards Noah and George but Allen was quick to notice this. He immediately interrupted.

"Ava, I think we should look for some other solution.", Allen said not sounding so confident as anything could make Ava turn mad.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean you did break the deal, you see.", Allen said in a low voice.

"WHAT?", Ava said in disbelief.

"I mean you are always fair about everything, you know? You are the one who says 'The rule is the rule'. So...", Allen lowered his gaze as Ava got near him.

"Are you really siding with them instead of me?", Ava's aura was intimidating Allen.

"No, I just wanted to suggest that we find some other way out.", Allen managed to spill to.

"Didn't I say I will be the only one to deal with him? I don't need any suggestions.", Ava did not seem to calm down.

Allen's lowered his head. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"I just do not want anyone to suffer as Cole did.", Allen said in a painful voice.

Ava stood silently. She did not expect Allen to break down. She could not say anything as what Allen said did have an impact on her.

"Ava, Allen does not mean any harm and you know that. Please, let's not create any issue within the group. We already suffered a lot last few days.", Olivia comes to release the tension going on between Ava and Allen.

Ava took a moment to organize her thoughts. She saw Allen and Olivia and then turned to Noah and George.

"Alright. Since I was the one who broke the deal. I will not bother you. Unless...", Ava pauses.

"Unless?", Noah asked in confusion.

"Unless you give me another reason to get back at you. So, be careful not to offend me or any of my friends."

Ava walks towards her car without saying anything to Allen and Olivia. Allen takes a last glance at Noah and George before walking away.

Noah was confused about the whole situation. Why did Ava leave him so easily he could not understand? He helped George to the car and went to sit on the passenger seat before looking at the disappearing figure of Ava for the last time.
