Chapter 22: The truth

Arlo and Finn walked side by side giving each side looks as they entered the living room. Both men stopped and gazed at Lily as she was sitting legs crossed, reading the children's book that Finn had given her. She looked so elegant and sexy. Arlo took a deep breathe as he admired his beautiful wife. Her thick thighs pushed so closely together really made his heart race. Finn walked over to her and looked into her crystal blue eyes. "So how's the reading coming along?" Finn reached out a hand to help Lily stand up as she uncrossed her legs. "Really great actually. Thanks to you and some practice, I can almost read this cover to cover without help." Lily smiled at Finn. Finn just smiled back, big, so Arlo could see. Finn likes Lily more and he was going to prove that with fulfilling any task she asked of him. "Lily what is it you wanted help with?" Finn spoke softly. "Yes right... well first things first, have a seat on the couch. Lily sat down and patted the seat next to her for Finn to sit. Finn pranced over happily to show off in front of Arlo. Arlo rolled his eyes and walked over and sat in the chair facing Lily. He wanted to be present for anything serious she had to say. "Okay so the truth... I want to hear yours and I'm going to tell you mine okay." Lily nodded toward Finn and he nodded back in agreement. Lily pressed her lips together not wanting to say it out loud. This would be the first time saying it and I'm doing so she was recognizing what Arlo said to her to be true. "Finn I am.... I am not fully human.." Finn laughed as he watched how serious she was. "I could have told you that.." he said jokingly. Lily smacked his arm. "I'm being serious goofball." Lily smirked. Arlo instantly felt a rage of jealousy. He had seen multiple sides to Lily so far but this carefree joking side was one he hadn't seen. The fact she was acting this way toward Finn got under his skin.

"Okay continue" Finn said sitting up more straight like to take her seriously. "So I'm half human and apparently half demon." Finn's jaw fell open. "That's why you smell so amazing." Finn whispered to himself. "What? Lily probed to hear him again. Finn embarrassed, shook his head to change the subject. "I thought the demon race died out long ago and I speculated it was just legend anyway.I thought if they were real or any left it certainly wouldn't be a female." Finn Explained to Lily. "Well I have just discovered this truth from Arlo. My mother was a demon and my father a human. They were both murdered when I was young because of my mother being....." Lily clenched her dress tightly as it pulled upward to expose her knees. Finn reached forward and touched Lily's hand. "Okay Lily, don't worry so much about it. Who cares what you really are. You already know I'm not human and I'm sure you know by now Arlo isn't either. Not all non-humans are evil or harmful. I know what you went through with those men scared you but from now on I will protect you from that threat." Arlo growled a little bit and Finn adjusted his statement "and Arlo..... We will protect you." Lily smiled as she started to cry a little. Lily felt so weak to cry in front of them but the memory was too scary. A few tears fell and Arlo felt his heart pulling. He walked towards her and crouched down to kiss her face and wiped away her tears. This embarrassed Lily because it was so intimate in front of Finn. Finn looked away to give them privacy, even though he secretly he wished it was him comforting Lily. Arlo stood up quickly. " I will fetch you something to drink and a water bowl for you dog." Arlo left without looking Finn's way. Finn stuck his tongue out in retaliation behind his back. Lily snickered. "You're such a child." Finn instantly blushed as he knew he looked uncool in front of her. Arlo basically tossed the cup of water to Finn and handed Lily her water glass. She slowly brought it to her lips. Even the way she drank was erotic. We're they both just madly in love with her or had they become perverts? Lily took a deep breathe. "I'm okay now.. sorry." She exhaled and turned to Finn. "So Finn, Arlo is a dragon and I'm half demon. What are you?" Lily squeezed the glass waiting for his answer. Finn stood up, smiled and pushed his thumb into his chest. "I'm a werewolf." Lily snickered again and Finn felt his coolness slowly draining away. "What so funny!?" Finn said upset. "It just matches you. I thought maybe you were a lion or panther or something but that suits you so much better. Especially since your loyalty is second to none." Lily smiled as she continued to drink the water. Finn sat back down on the couch. "Well that was anticlimactic..." Finn huffed. Lily suddenly jumped off the couch and her hair floated down to catch up with her. "Okay now that all that awkwardness is out of the way and everyone knows everything, let's get started!" Finn gulped at the fiery look in her eyes. "With what....." Finn asked reluctantly.
