Chapter 21: Make up

The morning was painfully cold. Lily walked across the stiff wooden floor and slowly got dressed. She was still feeling stings of pain here and there. She headed downstairs and saw Arlo in the study searching for something. "My lady..." a voice came from behind that made Lily jump. "Ahhh. Gerald! You scared me!" Lily exclaimed. Gerald beckoned her into the dining room where everything was immaculate as usual. "Have a seat, I'm making some bacon and eggs for you. Meat is the best substance after a lady such as yourself needs to build her energy back." He grinned and headed back into the kitchen. "Great, Gerald knows too...." Lily thought.

Awhile later Lily had scarfed down two plates of breakfast and decided to check on Arlo once more. As she started into his study, a knock came at the door. Lily was closest so she offered to answer it. "I got it." Lily slowly opened the large door and saw Finn standing there smiling worriedly at her. Lily felt a little angry and started to close the door when Finn stopped the door with his foot and grabbed Lily by the wrist, forcing her outside. "What is it?" She growled. Finn bowed his head to her and pleaded. "I'm so sorry Lily! I'm sorry for not telling you the whole truth but I'm ready to do that now." "I was scared that if you knew, you wouldn't want to be my friend anymore.." Lily looked into Finns deep brown eyes and knew she couldn't stay mad at him. "Okay. But I want the truth.. and I have a favor to ask of you." Lily pressed. Finns eyes lit up like the embers on firewood. "Thank you Lily!" Finn lurched forward and picked Lily up and spun her around.

Right in that moment Arlo saw what was happening through the front doors glass paneling and got highly annoyed. Arlo ran to the front door and swung it open. "Put her down dog!" He yelled. Finn set Lily back down on her feet lightly and slowly stepped up to Arlo. While Arlo was significantly taller, Finn was more muscular, almost thicker. Arlo breathed slowly as steam came out from his lips. "She is my bride, you will not touch her at all." Arlo hissed. Finn bucked up his chest. "Last time I checked, Lily was an independent woman and can decide who touches her." Finn growled. The pair just got closer until Lily intervened. "Okay that's enough. I need both of your help so if you can tone down the testosterone for today, all will be okay." Lily looked at both parties. "I'm going inside to warm back up, meet me in the living room when you're both done." Lily flipped her long bouncy hair that wafted a scent into the men's noses that they inhaled. They were both utterly smitten with it. Arlo turned to follow Lily and tried to close the door on Finn when he fought back. "Umm I am needed for a favor." "And dogs are kept outside." Arlo smiled pleased with himself. "Come on, both of you! Lily screamed. I'm ready to start." "Start what?" Finn whispered as he overtook Arlo, stepping inside and slowly shutting the door behind him.
