MYA

Ben, Patrick and Fred impatiently sat edged on as they waited endlessly in the car for Mya. Fred glanced through the car's window, examining the dense cloud coupled with the howling wind and the streaks of lightening which enveloped the hard- driving rain.

It was actually raining cat and dog with basically no sign of ending soon, which made the penetrating cold weather unbearable. He huffed, brushing his palms together.

" How long are we gonna keep watch over here– I'm actually freezing dead over here ".

He winced which made Patrick instinctively elude to prevent any further clash of words with Ben again.

" As long as she comes out, Fred. Don't just act like you're not aware of the outcome of this mission if we fail – just think for once".

With a sharp breath, he leaned back on the seat, took a quick glance at Ben who just sat unconcerned with his eyes fixed on Mya's car and back at Fred who just let out an inaudible sigh and returned back to his position with his arms wrapped around himself.

After hours of endless wait, Mya trod out of the store. The rain was still showering but not as heavy as earlier which made the road safer to journey through.

Ben and Patrick swiftly sat alert on noticing her.

" There she is– time to end everything, now. So sick and tired of all this." Ben stated as he kept his fixed, wolfish gaze on her while she settled in her car.

Mya,without knowledge of what was going on, turned on the engine and drove off, taking the road with trees and bushes along it which to her, was a shorter route home. Ben quickly drove off after her, not making it so obvious for her to notice.

It was already 9pm but the street leading to the Roberts' mansion were extremely quieter than usual due to the heavy down pour. And the moon neither gave its bright lights due to the heavy, gray clouds which prevented it's possibility.

As she drove on, she noticed the screen of her phone kept flashing. She instinctively stole glances at it as she balanced her gaze between the phone and the road. It was a call from Mrs Amy, her mother. She stared for awhile and ignored. Just then, Kelvin's call followed. She jilted, slightly rolling her eyes in frustration as she picked up.

"Hello, Kelvin– What's up with the call" She queried.

"Where are you, Mya?" He asked without answering her question. " Mum is so worried about you, don't you get it?"

She sighed "Cut it with the lecturing, Kelvin– I'm already on my way" She mumbled, her eyes traveled to the side mirror as she gazed at the car which kept flashing its light, distracting her in the process" What's wrong with this guy?" She stuttered. "Why flashing a light, now?"

"Huh?–I didn't get what you said, Mya" Kelvin's voice interrupted which drew her attention back to the phone.

"Oh, not you, Kelvin– Let's talk when I get home. Got something to take care of." She eluded with her eyes still fixed on the mirror as she pounded over the driver's absurd behavior. She dropped the phone on the seat next to hers.

"Is something behind my car or what?" She thoughtfully mumbled. "Let me find out from them". She instinctively strayed the car off the road as she parked along it.

RUBIN'S HOUSE

Laura sat by the window with an ear pin plugged in her ears. Her mind wondered off as she glanced out through the glass. Flashes of her fun time together with Mya and Kelvin kept playing back to her. She felt choked up with sorrow as tears soaked her eyes.

"Hey, Laura" Rubin called as he sauntered in from the bathroom. Laura instinctively dried her eyes as she swiftly turned towards him.

"Oh, my God, Rubin" She shouted, returning to her previous position. " Do you need to come out like that?" she yelled.

"I had no option, Laura." He mumbled; his lips curved in a sheepish grin. "I was actually calling you to bring me a shirt since I forgot to pick one but you were too lost to hear."

"Go cover your bare chest!" She shouted as she instinctively threw a blue shirt at him, without gazing back. Rubin grabbed it midway with a chuckle and trod back to the washroom. Laura gazed back at the closed door and scoffed as she leaned back. Just then, a strange feeling hit her.

"Mya!" She loud whispered as she sprang to her feet. Her eyes, evident with fury and her aura became cold. She glared in the air and vanished.

" Is my body that disgusting ?" He queried from the washroom but had no response. It felt strangely quiet. " Why is she so quiet– The Laura I know never let issues like this slip past her. Is she okay? " He wondered. "Need to find out from her ."

He quickly slid on the shirt.

"What's with you, Laura? " He mumbled as he sauntered from behind the door; only to be welcomed by an empty room. He swiftly paced to the middle of the room, his eyes earnestly lurked around.

"Laura?–Laura! " He called but had no response. He instinctively glanced out of the window and around the room but there was basically no sign of her anywhere. "Laura!" He called again, his nervousness and worry written all over his face as he swung the door opened but was instinctively met by the sight of his mother.

"Going somewhere? " She asked with a sceptical gaze as she examined his anxiousness. He fidgeted, ignoring his mother's gaze as a faint smile explored his face.

"No, mum " He stuttered but his eyes said otherwise as he kept glancing over her shoulder thoughtfully; in search of who knows what. Mrs Audrey instinctively followed his gaze as she tried to lay fingers on what he was looking for but found nothing.

She swiftly glanced back at him with furrowed eye brow. " Is everything okay, Rubin? " She queried with a sceptical gaze which drew his attention.

"Yes–Yes, mum " He instinctively tilted his head.

"But your eyes are saying otherwise, dear–It seems you're looking for something " She insisted which made him chuckled, sheepishly.

"There's nothing, mum– I'm off to bed now. Got early class tomorrow " He ended with a kiss on her cheeks and sped into his room as he locked the door behind. Audrey gazed at the door with a little loosed lip, marvelled at his unusual attitude.

"Goodnight, mum!"He shouted.

"Goodnight, dear– But don't get too worked out with whatever you're holding back, okay? " She eluded and Rubin answered. She sighed and trod off towards Annabella's room.

Rubin sauntered over to the bed and settled down on it, lost in thoughts. "Where could she be ?"
