HAUNTED

Mya pulled up along the road; she glanced back from the side mirror at the car which also came to a halt a few distance behind her. The driver instinctively waved her over. She sighed and gave a thumbs up. Ben smirked, a roguish glare lingered in her eyes.

"You know what to do, Patrick" He stated and Patrick tilted his head in response. His gaze was blank and cold.

" Come with me, Fred" Ben called as he swung the door opened. Fred instinctively sighed.

"How did I even get myself into this mess?" He cried. "I'm sick and tired of all this –Can't I just have a normal high schooler's life" He lamented as he jerked down.

Mya instinctively tucked a lock of hair behind her ear as she reached out for her coat from the seat next to her. She shoved it on and sighed.

"This day couldn't be any better " She cried as she sauntered down the car. The street was so quiet with no other passing car apart from theirs. And the only source of light was the streetlights along the road.

"Hey, guys, how may I help you?" She eluded as she neared them. "I saw your signals – Hope there's no problem"

"Sorry for stopping you so rudely in the middle of the road like this, Miss" Ben stuttered. His lips curved in a faint smile as he approached her. " My friend and I noticed something unusual with your car" He added and Mya instinctively glanced back at her car and back at them with a sceptical gaze. "Really?" She asked with a creased brow.

With an increased pitch voice, Fred eluded. "Yes, I think it's coming from down there" he pointed beneath the car. " One of your tanks was actually, leaking " He stated.

"Awwn " She cried as she run her hands aggressively through her hair. "This can't be happening –Not in the middle of this lonely road. This is definitely a dead end" She sighed as she crunched down, checking where the problem could be from.

Ben's lips curved in a slight close smile as he stared down at Mya whose attention was keenly fixed on her car as she tried to examine it; her back faced them.

"Here, let me help you– I'm good with stuffs like this" He exposed. Mya instinctively glanced up at her and nodded. "I'll be glad "

Without looking up at him, she swiftly scot over to make way for him to check. Ben smiled, "Okay, let's see." He stuttered. With raised eyebrows and slightly tucked chin, he signaled Patrick, who stood a step behind him. Patrick tilted his head in approval.

Ben kept her engaged while Fred and Patrick kept to their plan. Patrick slowly reached out for a club while Fred looked out for them.

Mya, who had no idea of what their plan was; nor what was going on, just kept staring at Ben as he fidgeted with the car. Patrick slowly lifted the club about to hit her. Just then, the street lights twittered on and off – then it finally blacked out which flinched them out.

Mya just remained in her posture without any movement ; her face buried down as her long curry hair dangled down, covering her face. They trembled.

" Why are the lights out?" Fred stuttered with darting eyes. "Why isn't she moving either ?"

Just then, they heard a pleasing sound far off which took their attention. It was more or less like a herd of goats, trotting in the distance. At first, they confused it with the pattering of rain ; they instinctively gazed up to the sky but it wasn't raining.

They trembled with widen eyes and their breath quickened. The trees danced violently and its violent gale breeze was like a blast from a hair dryer. The loud giggles of kids; soon engulfed the atmosphere.

"What's that sound –where is it coming from? " Ben stammered. He froze– all his breath trapped and his pulse ramped up.

"Something, surely isn't right over here" He cried. There was suddenly a swift movement from the woods like animals pacing back and forth with unbelievable impatience. Patrick instinctively dropped the club, his pulse roared and confusion flashed through him. They then noticed something with slumped shoulders, standing on the far end of the road. Something like a glowing kid– Just at the blink of the eye, it closed up on them. They whipped around, a cry breaking from their lips.

Every inch of their skin broke out in gooseflesh. Their chest tightened. Every gut and muscle of their body seemed to come unwound. Their hair stood up and their eyesockets seemed to be expanding and their eyeballs contrasting, as if their heads were trying to turn into skulls. The babbling giggles came again and the lightening flashed.

They trembled and their heart pounded louder. Their breathing became harsh. Mya instinctively chuckled as she slowly lifted her head. Her eyes gleamed fiercely. Their stomach tightened up in knots as her eyes met theirs. They felt their face break our in a sweat and their heart leaped out of their chest.

Her lips stretched taut into a feral grin of bow–mouthed mockery –She was actually possessed by Laura's ghost.

"Well, well, well " She gloated sardonically at a voice that was deep with menace. They instinctively let out a sick whimper as they sauntered back with hunched shoulders. Their chest became tight and their stomach rotten.

"Miss Mya" They whispered.

"I'm not Mya Roberts" She rumbled, still with that taut and hideous grin. "Well, then, I'll do you the honour of introducing myself–I'm Laura Roberts" She howled.

Ben, Fred and Patrick instinctively staggered backwards with wide eye and shrink back. They swiftly turned to escape only to meet face on with her. They let out a strange strangled yelp of panic.

Mya let out a tiny creepy laughter which sounded like a mockery.

"Going–Some–where?"

THE ROBERTS MANSION

Mrs Amy sat in the hall, her eyes fixed on the door with a worried gaze. Kelvin watched her from the stairs as she fidgeted and kept massaging her temples. He sighed and sauntered over to her end. "Mum?" He called and she instinctively jerked towards his direction, her gaze was pale and tensed.

He smiled but Amy just stared, expectantly. He took her hand as he settled beside her.

"Keep calm, Mum– I already spoke to Mya and she's already on her way" He stated. "She should be here in a few minutes, huh?" He tilted his head with a faint smile and she nodded; a faint smile dazzled on her lips.

Kelvin instinctively hugged her. " Everything is gonna be alright, mum " He cried.
