CHAPTER 45: RIGHT-SIDE PASSENGER

Leo's POV

It's been a few days since I met Sophie Hills.

It was one of the strangest encounters I have ever had with anyone, she was so confident and upfront about what she was saying and if I didn't know better, I would have almost believed her.

What did she want from me anyways?

If she already knew everything then why come upto me and act all friendly and try to get me to leak whatever she wanted to?

People can be really weird sometimes.

How could she be Nat's cousin?

It's really weird.

If she was Nat would have mentioned her.

But, what if Nat's keeping secrets from me as I keep them?

I know none of us should keep secrets but this is not the first the possibility of her keeping secrets has crossed my mind.

And boy don't I miss her?

I thought it was impossible for people to fall for each other in such a short time until now.

I pull out my phone from my pocket and open her contact and stare at it.

Should I call?

Or not?

I know she wants her distance but I think about time. I'm just being selfish but I wanna talk to her too.

I stare at the call sign and sigh.

This is really hard. I suck at interpreting people, I should have firsthand experience but unfortunately, I don't.

This is my first goddamn relationship.

Girls never drooled over me earlier. I used to be this really fat boy with pimples and braces. People never even considered me cute. So once I started going to the gym and stopped eating a lot of stuff, I became a sight for sore eyes. I had a masculine body with abs and my pimples and braces were gone.

But even then I never got that attention because my parents shipped me off to London for me to study.

That even a boy school and I was a dork so no one ever introduced me to girls and I kept mostly to myself.

I am kinda glad that I haven't really dated a lot of people on the same hand too, I don't think Nat is really one of those super possessive girls but if she happens to be one of them, she has nothing to get mad at.

Even without having such complex relationships, I am not such a bad boyfriend. Some might even say I'm one of the good ones, not trying to get ahead of myself of course.

Sighing, I look up towards the sky and close my eyes.

The wind is breezy and cool against my face and therapeutic.

So here I am with zero relationship help.

As I was thinking about the not-so-good-old-times, I don't realize that I had accidentally hit the call button and Nat had picked up the phone and was screaming hello-hello.

Why is she screaming tho?

I regain my posture and put the phone close to my ear.

"Hey," I say.

"Leo?" she asks.

She must have picked up the phone and not seen who called. Or she must have deleted my contact and must not be remembering my number.

I don't think the latter is true though.

Weird, she only went to Italy and I'm thinking about all these things.

"Yeah, it's me," I say and chuckle.

Lame joke.

"Oh hi! I didn't realize," she said.

"Yeah, I kinda figured that out," I say and she laughs.

Would it be cheesy if I say that I missed her laugh?

It really doesn't matter because I did miss her laugh.

"Natania!"I hear someone say on her side.

"I gotta go," she says and hangs up.

What?

"Okay," I say but the phone was already hung up.

That wasn't what I expected but I guess life is all about expectation versus reality.

Whose Natania?

Is that her full name?

Natania Smith?

Her house says 'Smith'.

And her cousin is Sophie Hills so I see where this comes from.

It's a weird name but she does say that she's part Italian.

Must be her mother because her surname's Smith.

I should probably go to Italy and talk to the Albergo's about the deal.

I book the earliest flight for two people to Italy and text Alejandro to meet me at the airport as soon as possible.

The flight leaves in an hour.

I go to my room and pack a bag and head towards my car.

As soon as the car starts the song 'Take me to church' starts playing.

I can't help but laugh at the lyrics.

They're so goddamn true right now.

I reach the airport and pack my car there and rush to the terminal.

I hustle through the people and find my terminal. The plane is about to leave and I see Alejandro already standing in the boarding line.

I run and reach at the end of the line.

I'm excited to go to Italy because maybe I'll be able to meet Nat there.

The flight attendant checks my ticket and lets me in.

I sit at my seat and look at where Alejandro is sitting.

He's sitting two rows behind me.

I look at my neighbor on the left side.

It's an old man sleeping his ass off.

On my right side, there's no one.

I'm hoping it'll be the same for the rest of the flight.

I get comfortable in my seat and pull out my headphones and phone and put them.

The soothing music fills my ear and I turn my head to the left side.

There's a comfortable side there as the oldie has his head against the window.

This flight is really comfortable.

I can finally sleep after hours of planning my next move.

As I'm about to doze off someone bastard comes and sits right next to me, disturbing my sleep.

I turn my head around and see the passenger next to me.

It's Marco.

"You!" we both say in unison.

This is gonna be one hell of a flight.
