Cousins

Alluring his gaze to the left, Delion spots a fine woman sitting nearby, perhaps taller than him but this one isn't Ambers.

Giving a slight definition of what she brings to the table, the big fit lady starts rubbing the detective where no stranger should be rubbed, on his upper leg and almost touching what has limited access.

Grabbing her hand and moving it away, Delion hears the lady state out the obvious after. "I haven't seen you here before."

"I know, this is my first time here." Delion reveals, seeing no bad thing about revealing such personal information.

Wanting to plant seeds for the sake of a good connection, the big lady asks. "Then what brings you in this city? You're some big businessman aren't ya?"

And from such a question, Delion can understand what this woman wants, basing it on the previous actions, the theory has a solid foundation.

"She wants coins." Delion thought but wants to filter this situation for the better and therefore interjects. "I'm looking for someone, my cousins. They go by the name, Corbelli."

"What possibly could you want with the Corbelli? I know they aren't your cousins." The big lady slightly yells, captures a bit of attention from the other customers here.

Holding his cool, Delion uses what can be believable. "Well I am, my father split ways decades ago with the family."

Sensing benefits, the large lady explains. "I see, well I can find the Corbelli for you but I have to take care of some other stuff first."

Standing up, she walks for the exit and speaks up. "Meet me at midnight behind this tavern."

Now this... well it's troubling to decide upon. This lady showed gestures that in one way projects too friendly but in a few other ways she projects unfriendly.

That's all based on the topics, things just don't build up for the better, quite actually the opposite.

All of that regardless, this lady looks a bit bigger than Ambers even, and carries a firm form that points more towards the feminine side but yet powerful.

Specifically, he is scared of getting mugged from this lady. As Delion doesn't exactly portray a poor man, quite the opposite come to think of it.

Only midnight will tell how it will play out.

...

"A bird told me that you're looking for someone." A thick male tone whispered through the shadows.

"Corbelli, I'm looking for my cousins." Delion repeated his words, making sure to not add anything extra.

Whoever this man is, that big lady in the tavern has likely chirped word by word what Delion said, adding something extra right now can get him in trouble in terms of trust.

But yet still trying to prove a firm stand, he points out. "You don't sound like that lady in the tavern."

"Obviously you dumb fuck." The man slightly yells, escaping the shadows and facing Delion.

This man... he looks a bit shorter than Delion, which really says something because this detective isn't the tallest.

This approacher carries a black short beard, there is little hair on his head and for some reason he's carrying a wooden club.

"The Corbellis have no cousins, what are you really here for?" The man with the club asks, ready to beat Delion down to hell and back.

"Oh so you're their friend, sounds like you got lied to, man. The Corbellis have cousins in Blenar, Tommy and Big Jill. Do those names sound familiar to you?" These are full on lies, but whoever the Corbellis are, they are dangerous.

So it's a grand idea to make his way there with lies and lay down what this really is about.

Abnormally conflicted, not knocking if he should attack or help, the almost bald man adds. "I don't know those names, you're lying."

Understanding that this man is holding back, Delion adds another layer of lies. "You don't know those names because the family split decades ago. Barney, another cousin of mine, got killed and we need help."

"Big Maso has to handle this." The approacher murmured and gave out a little whistle.

Two more men emerged from the shadows, one actually has walked just a couple of feet behind Delion, carrying a club and ready to strike.

Pointing at Delion, the bald guy demands. "Search him for weapons, gold, strings. Big Maso has to handle this, I can't tell if this fool is lying or not."

Pulling out a dagger before the two got close, handing it to the closest one, Delion deciphers. "I only have a dagger, search my backpack how you please."

After a minute, one of the men states. "He's clean."

Handing the backpack to Delion, the bald man deciphers. "Alright, you're about to meet Big Maso. If shit adds up, you can keep your dick."

...

"So, you're my cousin apparently." A large, fat man questions, not sure how to accept this man here.

"What's with the hat?" The same large man questions, not liking Delion's fedora.

"I like hats, but anyway. We have to discuss something." Delion tries to get straight to the point, spotting that the same large lady is by this big man's side.

"I'm listening." Big Maso answers, leaning in a bit closer as his large arms take half of the table. This man has to be 200 kilos heavy.

Remembering exactly what he said for the sake of not getting caught, Delion utters. "I'm your cousin, our families split decades ago because of some murder. You have family in Blenar, Barney got killed there."

Contradicting it, Big Maso lays down a bit of history. "My family didn't split, we always stay together."

Knowing how to oppose it, Delion lays down another family fact for the sake of enhancing his own lies. "But we did, when our grandmother was killed back in 1,215."

"Oh..." The big fat man sighs, understanding that not many people are supposed to know that.

Sure rumours spread wild when a murder happens, but it should be long forgotten by everyone now considering the year being 1,265. No rumour would last that long and no banter could be that ambitious.

Getting to the case, forming lies for the sake of squeezing information, Delion adds. "Our grandmother has returned in a ghostly form and is killing everyone, I'm scared for my family although I know she wouldn't hurt family."

In order to gain trust and get information at the same time, Delion instantly adds. "I want to know who killed our grandmother, so I can take revenge against anyone who was involved. Maybe that will stop her killing spree."
