Chapter 24

First POV

After Shinsou's first successful takedown, we continued to scour the city. He took down a couple more people, but the perpetrators weren't doing anything big. Just some muggins and an attempted kidnapping. Nothing major.

However, as we were going through the city, it seemed like Aizawa was looking or was cautious of something. No, someone. He's probably looking for Stain, I surely am.

It was around evening time so we stopped at the nearby building to cool down, "Okay, this will conclude our patrol and we will head back in a few-"

Aizy was cut off when we heard crashing and loud roaring in the distance. Startled we rushed over to the scene, but what we saw was horrifying. Buildings were burning and destroyed, civilians scattered and in a panic. Though, what was most shocking was the giant deformed creature in the middle of it all.

"Nomu," I mumbled. Aizy seemed surprised I knew what it was and gave me a look saying that I will have to explain later.

He yelled out,"Hijack, get all the civilians out of here and to somewhere safe, Z you're with me!"

We nodded. Shinsou went around, gathering civilians and getting them out of harm's way as Aizy and I charged at the Nomu.

"Even though you are a Nomu, for hateration and holleration of the dancery, you have thus failed the vibe check!" I screamed.

The Nomu screamed and tried to lay a powerful punch on us, but it seemed to lose balance and got much slower than before. Aizy used his scarf and restrained Nomu's legs. I know these creatures as good as the people who made them, and their weakness was the brain. There is a certain main control point in the center of their brain, once it's destroyed, they die. It's their only weakness in order to get rid of them quickly.

I jumped on top of the Nomu as it struggled in Aizawa's binds. Quickly I pulled out one of my knives and plunged it right through the center of the Nomu's brain, effectively killing it. It's body stilled as it stopped roaring, "Eraserhead! It's dead, you can let it go!"

His scarf retracted and I jumped off the Nomu, its body fell to the floor with a thud, completely still. I sighed and double-checked for any civilians nearby, "Good, Hijack got them all out of here."

"How did you know to do that?" Crap.

I turned to see a skeptical Aizawa with his arms crossed. I responded, "I just know, and it's not important right now. There are probably more of those things around the city. The exposed brain is the weakness, destroying the center of the brain will kill it," I handed Aizawa one of my knives, "Use this I doubt you'd want Nomu brain on your hands."

He took the knife and sighed, "Fine, you are allowed full quirk use under my permission, but if you even think about running away then it won't be pretty."

I smiled, "Yes, sir!"

I began to run off when I heard him again behind me, "And you are going to explain how you knew it's weakness later!"

I looked back and nodded, before continuing. I absorbed fear from the people around me, which there was a lot of, and made my senses become sharper. I killed another Nomu and helped out some more civilians until I heard a beep come from my phone. I quickly looked at the contact and saw Izuku. Why did he send me a message right now?

I checked what it was and saw coordinates, "Coordinates? Why would he send me his location…"

My eyes widened, he would only do that if he was in trouble!

Quickly I rushed over to his location which seemed to be a couple of blocks away from where I was. Please be alright Izuku!

Midoriya POV

Iida and pro hero Native were paralyzed on the floor. Me and Todoroki were constantly dodging knives that flew at us at high speeds from Stain.

"Why am I fighting THE HERO KILLER! This guy is called that for a reason! He's known for killing heroes!" I thought, panicking internally. I can't lose my cool, I have to be a hero and keep a smile on my face like All Might. I will save Iida and we will get back to UA!

Me and Todoroki had a strategy. He would stick with long-range attacks while I created distractions and openings for him. I said to myself as I felt power surge throughout my body, "One for All: Full Cowling!"

We were in an alleyway which gave me walls to bounce off of. I did as I saw Gran Torino do when he was training me and bounced quickly wall to wall. Many times I tried to land a punch or a kick Stain, but he was fast. He continuously dodged my blows, as I felt my leg being grazed by something sharp, and a warm liquid run down to my ankle. I felt my body once again go weak and eventually fall limp.

"Dammit," I mumbled as I tried desperately to move my muscles. To force them to work, but nothing happened.

From the cold floor, I watched in horror as Stain started to overwhelm Todoroki. His arm was bleeding badly from the knives that were still piercing his skin. Even, though he didn't have any drawbacks from over using only one side of his quirk, he was starting to get sluggish. His body looked tired and like it was taking everything he had to even move. Stain threw another knife, lodging into Todoroki's right calf making him fall to his knee.

"This is the last of you, may your death bring peace to the world," Stain said with a crazed yet satisfied look as he raised his sword above Todoroki's head.

Tears pricked my eyes as my vision went blurry and I yelled, "TODOROKI!"

I felt a gust of wind and heard two grunts paired with the sound of metal making contact with each other. I slowly opened my eyes and saw the familiar black hair flowing in front of me. Alex…

"A-Alex?" I asked in surprise.

Their head turned as they looked at me with a small smile, "Hey, sorry I'm late, it took a while to get over here."

I felt tears in my eyes again, however, these tears weren't of sadness, but of happiness and relief. Relief that we might make it out of here. Alex was crouched slightly protective over Todoroki's body as he leaned against the wall.

"Alex? So, that's the name you go by now, huh Zavage?" Stain said with a sick smile. Wait, what!?

"Alex, Alex Kurosaki is my name now Stainy and you will address me as such. I'm upset that we must fight against each other, but I cannot let you kill them," Alex said while glaring daggers at Stain. So, they know each other, but what's this about a name? Is Alex not their real name?

"You were never able to beat me before, what makes you so sure you will be able to now?"

I saw Alex smirk as they stood up straight and said, "Cause you Stain my dear, have failed the vibe check."

Stain's eyes widened. Suddenly, I felt that my body became lighter again as my fingers slightly moved. Though it wasn't easy, I slowly pushed my body up and stood using the wall to support me.

"Hey, Deku?"

I looked at Alex, "Since, you can move, I'm gonna ask you to help the others out of here. I kind of have my hands full."

I nodded and rushed over to Iida and Todoroki. Each one's arms around my shoulders as my arm around their waists to help them stand. Luckily Todoroki's ice had pushed Native out of the alley so I didn't have to worry about him.

Alex and Stain were having a staredown, daring the other to make the first move. Once, we were out I heard the sounds of fighting commence. The sound of metal clashing, grunts, groans, and footsteps all echoed from the alleyway. Carefully, I placed Todoroki and Iida down leaning on the wall before going to Native. He was the worst off out of the four of us and couldn't stand in the slightest even without the effects of Stain's quirk.

I grabbed him and placed him laying down next to the others. I tore off loose pieces of my hero suit and used them to put some pressure on his injuries and to try to slow the bleeding. Todoroki used his ice to seal off his open wounds as well as Iida's.

"Why are you siding with the heroes!? Most of them aren't even deserving of the title and just want fame and money!" Stain yelled.

"Ha, are you still stuck on your boring philosophy that only All Might is a true hero? How delusional, you may be older than me, but you are still holding onto your childish ideals," I heard Alex say cooly. They definitely have a history and by the sound of it, they probably worked together for a while.

I could only make out bits and pieces of the conversation. Only small words, nothing of significance.

Suddenly there was a loud boom, as Stain flew out of the alleyway and into the car across the street, completely demolishing it. His body was covered in cuts and bruises as he groaned in pain.

I heard slow and even footsteps emerge from the alleyway. Alex's figure emerged, with a dark aura around them, "I'd advise you to not try to fight me again Stain, it won't end well for you."

Alex's clothes were torn in a few spots and looked heavily battered. They had a cut on their left cheek right under the eye, and another cut on their temple that was leaking quite a bit of blood.

I heard heroes run up to us, and a familiar small old man in yellow jump angrily in front of me, "I thought I told you to stay on the train!"

I gulped, "W-Well I couldn't help myself, plus I needed t-to help my friends."

He sighed and shook his head, though he seemed to accept the answer.

"Alright, everyone!" I heard Alex shout. Everyone including the heroes turned to look at them, "This right here is the hero killer Stain. He is unconscious, though I don't know for how long. Pro hero Native is heavily injured and needs immediate medical attention. The creatures attacking the city are called "Nomu" and were created by the League of Villains. They are extremely powerful but have a weakness. The exposed brain, if you puncture the center of the brain or damage it enough, then the creature will die. Please, relay that to all your fellow heroes!"

One of the heroes spoke up, "How do you know this and who are you?"

"Experience, trial, and error, and my name is Z. I am a hero in training from UA high under pro hero Eraserhead's supervision. He allowed me to split off and help as many people as I could!" Alex introduced, "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to help the other heroes!"

Two heroes walked up and restrained Stain with quirk canceling cuffs. Though, right after they did, a flying Nomu roared in the sky. Faster than I could register, the Nomu had snatched me up from the ground with its talon slightly piercing my side. I grunted in pain as my eyes went wide with panic.

I heard a chorus of screams from the road below, some of fear, and some of worry. The Nomu's talon continued to dig into my side, sending shooting pain throughout my body. The Nomu screamed again, but it didn't sound the same. Its grip on my body weakened and I was securely swept into two strong arms as me and the person landed safely onto the ground. I looked to see who it was, only to see Alex holding me.

I smiled and said a small thank you, they saved me again. (a/n: yup I know another long chapter, but still it was worth it and I couldn't find a good place to cut it off sooo ta-da!) (other a/n: Lmaooooooo love that.)
