I'll Be Right By Your Side

We had to skip school today because Toma got sick. I had to take care of him or he might get even more sick. When I touched his forehead, his temperature is really high and he's even trembling more because of the fever.

"Why did you even think of going under the rain and getting yourself sick? I'll blame you if one of the professors fail me." I told him as I tuck him in his bed. He only smiles and think positively about it.

"I'll treat you well on the weekend then. Let me be your sugar daddy." He joked.

"Seriously?" I gave him a disgusted look.

"Hey I'm serious about treating you."

"Then I'll take on that offer."

"Great, I guess your good with taking care of me today." He looked happy as he said that.

I sighed, already feeling tired of taking care of him. "You're, .

lucky I'm here." Then I sat beside him as I checked on my phone.

"Yeah, I'm lucky you love me."

"Eww that's so gay of you."

He coughed a bit and laughed. "But seriously though, thanks for taking care of me." He reached for my hand and held it tight with a big smile on his face. It made me a bit uncomfortable so I shoved the pillow that was at the corner of his bed to his face.

"You're welcome."

"Pwah! You're so rude!" He complained, getting off the pillow on his face.

I chuckled and felt a little nervous, so I tried to get away from him for a bit. "I'm gonna make porridge, so you just rest and sleep there. I'll wake you up when it's ready."

"Okay!"

When I got out of his sight, I couldn't hold it. What's with this weird feeling!? I looked at myself on the mirror and saw my face. My face is red as a tomato. Damn it! What's so embarassing!? Geez. I really hate it when Toma makes me feel this way.

Ever since we were in highschool, there would be times I feel this way when he acts strangely too sweet on me. But I do my best to hide this expression, which might cause some sort of misunderstanding.

Sometimes I just find him really… cute. And I won't tell a soul that I just fucking thought about that.

"Toma, your porridge is ready." I woke him up right after I prepared his food. Then his eyes opened quickly as if he woke up from a nightmare. And when his gaze landed on me, his face suddenly looked relieved. "Damn, that was some bad dream."

"What did you dream about?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Well, uh… it's… about you." He honestly said. And that surprised me.

"Heh, we've probably been together our whole lives that even in your dreams we're together. What was that bad dream about anyway?"

"Uhh, well, in that dream you tried to leave me."

"What?"

"You were going some place, far from me. It made me sad actually, we're… best friends. You're my best friend. I think I can't live a life without you by my side." Well damn that's the most cheesy thing I ever hear from him.

"Toma, someday we have to part ways too. We'll build our own family and focus about the future of our families. You know well that you shouldn't be so attach to me."

He sighed and turned his back on me. "I know." He whispered.

"Hey, even if we have to part ways, we can still remain as friends and talk sometimes."

"…yeah." Then he takes a peek at me like a kid, and ask. "Even though things may be like that in the future, please stay with me..." he goes back facing the wall and continued. "…it doesn't have to be forever, just stay with me until the time comes."

His childishness made me chuckle, I patted his arm and gave him the response he deserved. "You don't really have to tell me all that, I'll be right your side whenever you need me."
