I took a deep relaxing breath before looking up at Danny. I was caught off my guard by a low menacing growl. Danny looked up raising his eyebrow as if to ask who the hell would dare growl at him. I looked over my shoulder and saw Logan, he was glaring at us with his fists clenched. I was confused. I gently pulled away from Danny "Logan he was just giving me a hug and ch-" he angrily cut me off "There is no reason another man should be holding you!" he boomed. I was taken aback. I walked over to Logan confidently and cupped his face forcing him to look at me "Do you trust me?" I asked him. He looked at me his expression seemed like he was hurt "I do trust you I just don't trust other males around you, Eva..." he whispered. I sighed and smiled "Danny is your brother I see him as my big brother you don't have anything to worry about here, besides I'm your mate right?" I asked in a way to reassure him. He silently nodded his head in agreement. I gave him a quick peck. He smiled and hugged me.
I giggled and shook my head he was like a possessive little puppy at times. I patted his shoulder "All right you guys have to come up with a game plan. You boys need to be careful, please." I told them before leaving the room just as a couple of pack members walked in. I was nervous, I hoped that no one got injured on this mission or worse. I went upstairs and used Logan's laptop to put on some music before browsing the internet. I made the mistake of logging into my social media and saw the news and condolences plastered everywhere. His mugshot next to Tyson's school picture he took a couple of weeks ago... I slammed the laptop shut. Shit that was a bad idea, don't cry, don't cry. I got up and tried to jump around to get rid of this feeling. I grabbed a sweater out of one of my packed bags and decided I needed some fresh air.
It seemed like Logan and the others had already left which probably meant the hunter had 'escaped' from the basement. I walked back to that little clearing I had gone to before. I wondered if I would see that black wolf with the ember eyes again. I don't know when but at some point I had fallen asleep in the clearing. When I woke up I raised my hand to my face and rubbed my eyes before looking around. Shit, it was dark out, nothing but the moonlight lighting up my surroundings. Then I realized that there was something in my hand. I lifted it to see a lovely bouquet of wildflowers. Perhaps that wolf came back when I had fallen asleep, if so at least I know they're not dangerous.
I groaned as I stood up stretching my body from its stiffness. The ground clearly wasn't the best bed. I jumped as the corner of my eye caught a flash of white at the edge of the meadow. I studied the trees for a few minutes but there was no movement, perhaps my eyes were playing tricks on me. I best get home before it's too late and they send a search party after me.
~Logan's P.O.V ~
My brother had ordered one of the wolves to 'accidentally' let the prisoner escape. Then we waited. Thankfully after about an hour that slimy greasball came poking his head out of the mansion door. That dumbass really though he managed to escape on his own. We had already shifted and made sure to quietly follow him. Alya was the smallest one among us so she was able to follow more closely and relay the direction in which he was heading. Our grey colored fur made it much easier for us to blend in with our surroundings, though I will admit the most stealthy are those with brown fur our pack, however, consisted of mostly grey wolves. We stopped as we had made it well past our territory and that of another pack's as well. Before us stood what looked like some run-down stadium in the middle of the bush like that's not weird.
I looked towards Danny who nodded we all shifted back and got dressed in the spare clothes that one of our pack members had carried along with him. We managed to find an unguarded entrance, the guy was probably taking a piss, well sucks to be you buddy. We all got in. Danny and two other pack members headed upstairs towards the sounds of a crowd cheering and I along with the others headed lower down. I paused as I could hear speaking further ahead. I motioned for the others to hide around the corner while I distracted them. I smirked at the two hunters once they had come into view. I flashed my golden yellow eyes to let them know what I was. I chuckled as they carelessly ran towards me and were ambushed by the others. The snaping sound only confirmed that their necks had been broken. We all headed to where they came from and saw a heavily fortified door with a large metal bar running across to keep something out, or maybe keep something in...
Two of the wolves grabbed onto the bar to open the door but yelled in pain. I snarled, of course, the door would be infused with silver. We needed to get through so fuck it I'll move it. I grabbed onto the bar searing pain shooting up my arms as I lifted the heavy barricade. I tossed it aside and forced the door open. It smelt like death and disease when the door opened. Cells lined the walls almost all of them filled with wolves. I growled loudly "Get them all out of here! No one gets left behind!" I ordered. We did everything to open those cages like grabbing scrap metal we could find as a crowbar or finding the key to some of the cells. Once they were all out of the cells we began sneaking everyone out just as the yelling started. I was worried about Danny he was the only family I had left "Those of you that can fight head to the arena to help our Alpha the rest follow Alya she will guide you back to our territory and get you the help you need." I said before rushing off to help my brother. I had about another ten wolves following me. I saw my brother in the middle of the arena saving a woman who was chained to a post. I also saw two wolves chained up at the other end of the arena. I motioned for a few of them to go help the chained wolves. I ran to my brother as he was trying to pry open a gate in the arena. There was a small boy on the other side. Danny was a beast he practically tore the gate out with the wall to get to the boy. The young woman picked up the boy rocking him and Danny then picked her up. He whispered in her ear and she nuzzled into him. Wait was she...no way! She has to be. I shook my head "The majority of the wolves have headed back with Alya, the others came out here to help. We should leave before we get surrounded." I informed him. Danny nodded and let out a howl signaling that it was time to retreat. I stayed close to Danny as we all retreated back to the woods as the hunters were left to deal with the damage we left behind.
