Heads of Hewdraw

Skyworld…

Pit and Jared rush to the door to start the adventure.

"Hurry, Pit, Jared!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"What's the matter?" Pit asked.

Pit and Jared leap through the door and fly into Underworld-infested skies.

"Medusa has brought the fight to our realm. Her forces are invading Skyworld!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"She must be getting back at us for taking down Dark Lord Gaol." Pit said.

"I guess she's a Dark Lord Gal." Jared said, coming up with a bad pun.

"Really? Was that pun necessary?"

"Medusa's venom knows no bounds. But I know the two of you can stop her Underworld Army." Palutena said, telepathically.

"You sure have a lot of faith in us, Lady Palutena." Pit said.

"Y'know, it's nice to rely on a goddess instead of Team RWBY. I love them since they're like family to me. But I need a bit of a break of constantly going to Remnant." Jared said, looking at Pit.

"Remnant? Why did you stop going there? Why do you keep talking about it?"

"Right. Forgot that in another universe, you and Ruby are a couple."

"How am I in a relationship with a girl I don't know in this universe?"

"Beats me."

"If you're struggling with a large group of enemies, you can use a Special Attack. Just tap a blue circle on the Touch Screen to launch one. It'll take out enemy fire too." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Don't these guys ever get tired?" Pit asked.

"Defeating Underworld troops is as annoying as fighting Grimm. They're rip offs of each other." Jared said, shooting down another Underworld troop.

"At this rate, the power of flight is going to expire before they do." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Then let's go after the commander!" Pit said.

"There's just one thing you should know. Their commander is Hewdraw." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Hewdraw? Like, this guy?" Pit asked.

Jared's eyes turned blue for a moment for him to see the classic, 8-bit appearance of Hewdraw from the original Kid Icarus. It then turned back to the normal brown hue it is normally.

"And speak of the devil...there he is!" Palutena said, telepathically.

Hewdraw appears in the distance, flying with a group of Underworld troops. Nanoha Takamachi, Fate Testarossa, and Hayate Yagami appeared in a flash of light and flew towards Pit and Jared.

"He can fly?" Pit asked.

"I think the only one who can't fly by himself is you." Fate said, looking at Pit.

"Ouch. That's harsh!" Hayate said.

"Don't sulk, Pit. It's undignified. But you're right: attacking the leader is a good plan." Palutena said.

"Let's do it!" Pit said.

"This is gonna be mad annoying." Jared said, holding Palutena's Bow and looking at his fairy wings.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate fly in front of Hewdraw's heads.

"Hello there!" Blue head said.

"It's snack time!" Violet head said.

"Mm! What tender little morsels!" Red head said.

"We are NOT pieces of meat!" Jared said, angrily. "We're human beings and an angel!"

"What did you say?" Red head asked.

"Technically, you five are." Violet head said.

"Just come a little closer." Blue head said.

"Get ready, 'cause it's time for…" Pit said.

"Total annihilation!" Red head said.

"Bone-crushing destruction!" Blue head said.

"Face-stomping carnage! It was MY turn to have the last word!" Violet head said.

"Oh, give it a rest."

"Let's not argue in front of company." Red head said.

"Cram a sock in it, foot face!" Violet head said.

"I'm soooo sick of you guys." Blue head said.

"Me?! What did I do?!" Red head exclaimed.

"Knock it off already!"

"YOU knock it off!"

"I can't believe this is my life." Violet said.

"Can we go home and watch TV now?" Blue head asked.

"Would everyone just shut it?!" Red head exclaimed.

"Someone put me out of my misery." Violet head said.

"Did I mention I'm starving?"

"And you think we're not?!"

"Um. This is going on for a while." Nanoha said, looking at Jared.

The heads continue to argue unintelligibly.

"Tell me about it." Fate said.

"What can we do now?" Hayate asked.

"I'm glad to see you girls." Jared said, smiling. "It's been a while."

"Um...now what?" Pit asked.

"This is never going to end. Just go ahead and attack." Palutena said, telepathically.

"EVERYONE SHUT UP AND FOCUS!" All three heads said, at the same time.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate begin fighting the Three-Headed Hewdraw. Jared's eyes glowed blue and he is having another vision.

Jared's mind palace…

If the Violet head is the only one remaining.

"Where'd Lefty and Righty go?" Violet head asked.

"You're all alone!" Pit said.

"Five against one is fair." Jared said, smirking.

"Whatever, I never liked those guys anyway." The violet head said.

If the Blue head is the only one remaining.

"Oh! I'm the only one left!" The blue head said.

"Actually, I'd say you're the only one right! ...Get it? Right?" Pit asked.

"Is now the time for the left and right joke?" Jared asked.

"No biggie. In fact, I feel great losing all that deadweight!" The blue head said.

Skyworld…

Jared's eyes stopped glowing and went from the bright blue hue back to the brown hue then were before. The Red head is the only one remaining.

"Gah! The other heads! You have no right!" The red head said.

"Actually, I'd say YOU have no right!" Pit said.

"OK, that's it! You're going down!" The red head said.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate start taking too long to defeat Hewdraw.

"You're running out of time." Palutena said, telepathically. "Jared keeps getting too many visions."

"Oh, no! Now what?!" Pit exclaimed.

"I'm readying my Palutena Glam Blaster for deployment. Once preparations are complete, I will launch an attack." Palutena said, telepathically.

"You don't have to do that! Let us handle it." Pit said.

"This won't take long at all." Nanoha said.

"Just give us a few more minutes." Fate said.

"Please." Hayate said.

Jared's eyes glowed blue again after being in its brown hue for a minute or two. Meaning that another vision is happening.

Jared's mind palace…

If Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate defeat the Blue head last.

"Ow!" Blue head said.

If Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate still haven't defeated Hewdraw and run out of time.

"OK, charging complete. The Sacred Goddess Clobberlaser is now ready for deployment!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Wait, I thought it was a Glam…" Pit said.

A bright light engulfs Hewdraw, severing two of the heads and killing the other.

"That's overkill." Fate said.

"Yeah…" Nanoha said.

"It is…" Hayate said.

"YOOOOOOOW! You could have obliterated us!" Pit said.

"You really could have, Palutena." Jared said, sadly:

"Oh, do you think I overdid it? Two of the heads got away. Hurry! After them!" Palutena said.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate dives down through the clouds.

Skyworld…

Jared's eyes stopped glowing blue and went back to the brown hue it was before. Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate defeat the Violet or Red head last.

"Aaaaaaaaaaugh!" Violet/red head said.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate defeat the last Hewdraw head.

"And that's that!" Pit said.

"Not so fast. Hewdraw heads can live without a body. You'd better follow them." Palutena said, telepathically. "The Underworld forces are retreating."

"Mission accomplished!" Pit said.

"Far from it. Those two Hewdraw heads are still alive. They've plunged into the human world below and taken their legion with them!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Then we'd better do something!" Pit said.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate fly down toward the surface, looking for the Hewdraw heads.

"Like chasing after those heads." Jared said, sadly.

"Oh! Uh…" Nanoha said, at a loss for words.

The five turns and notices the heads rampaging through That Burning Town.

"This is bad!" Hayate said.

"Let's hurry. For a pair of disembodied heads, they sure moved fast!" Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate fly over the town.

"I don't see the Hewdraw heads anywhere! Where'd they go?!" Pit exclaimed.

"Don't lose YOUR heads too, you guys. Let's check the town." Palutena said, telepathically.

"I don't know if that joke was really necessary." Jared said, holding his bow and arrow.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate fly down toward his landing destination.

"After knowing what happened to a version of Mami Tomoe…" Fate said. "I'm not so sure."

"Hoo-hooo-yah!" Pit said.

That Burning Town...

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate land in the town.

"Herghhh." Pit said.

"The people have all gone into hiding, but where did those Hewdraw heads go?" Nanoha asked.

"I don't know. They could be anywhere, Nanoha." Jared said, holding his bow and arrow.

"We need to stop them before they wreak even more havoc!" Fate said.

"As you search for them, take out any Underworld troops that cross your path." Palutena said, telepathically.

"How are we supposed to find them?" Hayate asked.

"This could take a while." Nanoha said.

"Tell me about it." Jared said, sadly.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate wait around without proceeding.

"Yeah…" Fate said.

"There's an alley next to the rubble that you can pass through." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate head through the alley.

"There's a courtyard ahead. You know the drill. Keep your eyes peeled for enemy attacks." Palutena said, telepathically.

Jared unlocks the level 4 Intensity Gate.

"That way goes back to where you started." Palutena said, telepathically.

Jared approaches the Treasure Box inside the Intensity Gate and opens it.

"Sweet, sweet loot!" Jared said, happily.

"Fortune smiles upon you." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Oh, no, you don't!" Jared said, defeating the Souflee that appears after opening the Treasure Box. "This is awesome! I can really turn a profit taking those guys down!"

"That was a Souflee. It's one sweet enemy. If you spot one, do everything you can to stop it from getting away." Palutena said.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate approach a Komayto.

"Remember, Pit, Jared, you have to use melee attacks to take down Komaytos." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit and Jared take down the Komaytos with melee attacks.

"I can't believe that they look like Metroids." Jared said, smiling.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate drop down into the hole to the right.

"Whoa-oa!" Pit said.

"Are you kidding me?!" Jared exclaimed.

"That looks like a jump pad in there." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Get up, fall down. Get up, fall down. Fight in the air, fight on the ground." Pit said.

"It's the story of your lives, isn't it?" Palutena asked.

"Peaks and valleys, highs and lows. Pick your friends, not your nose." Pit said.

"Whether it's pretty Grimm, it's very Noise-y, or if it's very Witch-y." Jared said, smirking.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate approach several rows of Jump Pads.

"There are jump pads ahead. String jumps together to make your way across the rooftops." Palutena said, telepathically.

After Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate jump across the second Jump Pad.

"Woop! This is great! Yeah!" Pit said, happily.

"I don't get these when traveling with the Doctor. That's for sure." Jared said, smirking.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate approach the gate just beyond the Shemum vase and Minos.

"I don't think we can get through this way." Pit said.

"There's another way in, but you'll need a key." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate head into an alley.

"Watch out!" Fate said.

A Hewdraw head suddenly barrels through the buildings.

"That came out of nowhere!" Nanoha said.

"You're going to need help against surprise attacks like that. Go to the courtyard ahead, and I'll grant you a gift." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Really?! That'd be great!" Pit said.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate head to the right and open the Treasure Box.

A Merenguy appears.

"That's an Underworld Merenguy." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Augh! I can't take my eyes off it!" Fate said.

"Its bewitching dance moves really grab your attention and hold on to it. Better make a point of taking it down first." Palutena said, telepathically.

Hayate took down the enemy with her magic to save Fate. Nanoha approaches the locked gate without the Key.

"It won't open…" Nanoha said.

"We need a key." Jared said, letting out a sigh.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate enter the courtyard.

"We're ready for that gift now, Lady Palutena!" Pit said.

"All right then!" Palutena said, telepathically.

The air is briefly filled with a heavy purple fog.

"Uh...what just happened?" Nanoha asked.

A Hewdraw head suddenly pops out of the ground.

"Roooooar!" The Hewdraw head said.

"Aaaagh!" Pit said.

"Do you like the gift? It's my patented monster pheromone! Monsters just LOVE the smell of it. And now it's all over you guys!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"What?! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US?!" Jared exclaimed.

Jared's eyes turned blue and he got another vision of the near future.

Jared's mind palace…

If Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate encounter the Red Hewdraw head.

"Did you do something with your hair? You're suddenly looking very attractive." The red head said.

If Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate encounter the Blue Hewdraw head.

"Why, helloooo, angel, humans!" The blue head said.

That Burning Town…

Jared's eyes stopped glowing blue and went back to being the brown hue.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate encounters the Violet Hewdraw head.

"Ooh! My goodness! What's come over me?" Violet head asked.

"Luckily, the pheromone only attracted one of the heads. I was wondering what you would've done if both of them had shown up." Palutena said, telepathically.

"And you still went through with it?! We would have been finished for sure!" Pit said, angrily.

"Tell me about it. That's like trying to put me on a spaceship with a broken bit of Dalek!" Jared said, scoffing.

"Despite my winsomeness and equanimity, I do have a strong streak of rascality." Palutena said, telepathically.

"I don't even know what that means!" Pit said.

Jared's eyes glowed blue again and it is showing the near future.

Jared's mind palace…

Blue Head.

"I never noticed this before, but you really have a certain je ne sais quoi." The blue head said.

"I'm not sure what you mean by that…" Pit said.

"It's French for I'm gonna eat you!"

Red Head.

"I have a special treat for you! But you have to come get it." The red head said.

"Don't believe him, Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Why shouldn't they? Look at this face! I'm totally trustworthy!"

That Burning Town...

Violet Head.

"I cannot resist you! You smell TOO GOOD!" Violet head said.

"Ew, back off!" Jared said, angrily.

"But I just want to cuddle you...to death."

Jared defeats the Hewdraw head with a single arrow, out of annoyance.

"Whew. That was dicey." Pit said.

"Tell me about it." Jared said.

"That was disgusting." Fate said, holding her sword.

"Can we try and find one that wasn't like that?" Hayate asked.

"Please." Nanoha said.

"I don't think I'll be using the monster pheromone in the future." Palutena said, telepathically.

"I would hope not!" Jared said.

"What I mean is that I won't need to use it."

"Why do you say that?" Pit asked.

"I located the other head. Let's go to the lake outside of town." Palutena ssid, telepathically.

"So, what happened that caused you to get away from Team RWBY?" Nanoha asked.

"General Ironwood. He came up with an ultimatum." Jared said, sadly. "I didn't agree with it at all."

"How long did he give you?" Fate asked. "Was it long?"

"No. It was one hour to decide. I just couldn't."

"Where did you go then?" Nanoha asked.

"Over to Earth. I wanted to spend some time with the Ponds. About a year's worth." Jared said, grabbing Nanoha's hand.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate jump down into a sewer.

"What is this? A well?" Hayate asked.

"That's not important. Just keep moving forward." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate approaches a couple of Shulms.

"Watch out. Those Shulms give off a toxic cloud when they expire. Shoot them from a distance or melee them to avoid getting poisoned." Palutena said, telepathically.

Nanoha shot some spells from her spear to get rid of the Shulms.

"That was close." Nanoha said.

"The other Hewdraw head is regenerating its body at the lake." Palutena said, telepathically.

"You don't think it'll have three heads again, do you?!" Jared exclaimed. "It was so annoying when it did."

"I should hope not. Their bickering was intolerable." Fate said.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate take a Jump Pad up to a small rooftop.

"It's an ambush!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Yeah, that's right! OUR ambush! You're going down, monsters!" Pit said.

"Y'know. I missed hanging out with mages." Jared said, smiling. "Especially you three."

"Want me to cook a meal for you later?" Hayate asked.

"As long as it isn't Palutena cooking."

"Hey!" Palutena said, telepathically. "Want me to let you die again?"

Jared, Pit, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate are taking out random Underworld enemies during the second wave.

"Please no! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!" Jared said, letting out a sigh.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate walks down to the exit of the town.

"I think we're finally close to the last Hewdraw head. Are you ready?" Palutena asked, telepathically.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate rushes to the lake, where they encounter Hewdraw Reborn.

Jared's eyes glowed blue and he got another vision.

Jared's mind palace…

If Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate encounter the Violet Hewdraw.

"So you've finished off the others, eh?" Violet Hewdraw asked.

"You know it!" Jared said, happily. "You're just a Hewdraw-ing to me."

"Then the five of you have saved the best for last. Let's get down to business!"

If Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate encounters the Red Hewdraw.

"Well, well. So nice to see the five of you again." Red Hewdraw said.

"You won't feel that way for long!" Pit said.

"Hya ha ha ha haaa! That's big talk, little firecracker!"

That Burning Town...

Jared's eyes stopped glowing blue and went back to its brown hue. Pit. Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate encounter the Blue Hewdraw.

"So you five took out my brothers." Blue Hewdraw said.

"Yep, sure did!" Pit said.

"They were so annoying." Jared said, looking at the Blue Hewdraw. "You three kept arguing over and over again."

"Rude…" Hayate said.

"Sorry."

"Wonderful, wonderful! Thank you so much! Now I'm finally free!" Blue Hewdraw said.

The battle initiates.

"This won't end well." Nanoha said.

"I know. So, how do we take him out?" Fate asked.

"Forward-dash attacks are very powerful. Look for openings to use them. But don't do a forward-dash attack when a fireball is headed at you." Palutena said, telepathically.

Hewdraw retreats underwater.

"It went underwater?!" Pit exclaimed.

"Damn…" Jared said, sadly. "How do we counter that?"

"Here's an idea. Shoot the orange balls of light to make them drop down. We'll try to lure the Hewdraw out that way." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Will do!" Jared said, happily.

Jared shoots at the orange orbs with his arrows, causing them to hit Hewdraw and draw it out of the water.

"Now, Pit! Now!" Palutena said, telepathically.

"Time to lay the smack down!" Pit said.

"Those lasers sure are hard to avoid!" Nanoha said.

"Here's an idea: wait 'til the last moment possible, then dodge to the side. Dash when an enemy attacks to perform a dodge." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate defeats Hewdraw.

"Mission complete!" Pit said.

"That's another one of Medusa's commanders out of the way." Palutena said, telepathically.

"Thanks for your help, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate." Jared said, happily.

"You're welcome." Nanoha said.

"Don't mention it." Fate said.

"No need to worry." Hayate said, looking at Jared.

Epilogue.

Hewdraw emerges from the water, glowing and shaking upon his defeat. Jared's eyes glowed blue and he is shown another vision of the near future.

Jared's mind palace…

If the Violet Hewdraw was fought and defeated.

"Look how far you've come, Pit, Jared, and T.S.A.B. I'm proud of all of you." Violet Hewdraw said.

Hewdraw falls over and explodes, causing water to shoot up into the sky and rain down over Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate.

"Huh. You don't usually meet such nice bosses." Pit said.

"Yup." Jared said, looking at Pit. "Usually they would want to kill us."

"Let's get you back." Palutena said, telepathically.

If the Red Hewdraw was fought and defeated.

"Before I die, I just wanna say…" Red Hewdraw said.

Hewdraw falls over and explodes, causing water to shoot up into the sky and rain down over Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate.

"And that's the end of him." Pit said.

"I wonder what he was going to say." Palutena said, telepathically.

That Burning Town...

Jared's eyes stopped glowing blue and went back to the brown hue they were before. The Blue Hewdraw was fought and defeated.

"No! I'm too pretty to die." Blue Hewdraw said.

Hewdraw falls over and explodes, causing water to shoot up into the sky and rain down over Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate.

"And there you have it. Victorious." Pit said.

"Here I am. Once again. Feeling lost but now and then…" Jared said, looking at Pit. "What? I had to."

"Good work. Jared, don't sing. You're off cue. Let's be on our way." Palutena said, telepathically.

Pillars of light appears over Pit, Jared, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate, whisking them away.
