Basket- OMG A BABY!

They made me chug down my lemonade and pushed me outside to help clean up the bullets.

"Alright, I'm done with the front," I announced as I sat on a box in Deon's garage and his dog came to me and jumped at my legs.

"Hello there," I said, scratching the cheek of the dog because I once watched a video saying dogs liked to be able to see what's happening. It seemed to work because the dog didn't shake its head away.

A few minutes later the rest of the guys came in.

"Do you know how to play?" Jaylen asked me, throwing me the basketball.

"Not really." I caught and threw it between my hands.

"Wanna learn?" He asked, opening his hands for me to throw the ball back.

"Sure." I shrugged and threw the ball back.

"1v1, watch this." Jaylen threw the ball to J and we all went out to watch them.

J threw the ball to Jaylen, he threw it back, and J threw it again, he threw it back, and this time when J caught it, he ran past Jaylen and went for the basket, but Jaylen came up and blocked him and right when he was about to shoot, he jumped up and hit the ball.

They went back to the edge of the driveway and threw the ball at each other again but this time, Jaylen was the one to run off with the ball and it was J who blocked him from shooting.

They did that 3 more times and they each got one shot.

"2v2," Jaylen informed me, "King." He stated and King walked over to him and Deon walked to J.

This time, Deon threw the ball to King, and J and Jaylen stood behind Deon.

King caught it and passed it to Jaylen, who turned around and made the shot.

I clapped silently.

Basically, all I was learning is it's crucial to get a basket, and standing in front of someone in a crab walk will make them stop.

By the time one of them got another basket, they were all sweating and breathing hard.

"Alright basketball stars, it looks like we need a break, so I'm going to go get some water for us." Yes, we do need a break and I'm going to get water for us. It's exhausting trying to keep up with the male species.

I went inside and grabbed 5 bottles of water, but then I heard crying. It didn't sound like it was on the T.V. and it was way too high-pitched to have been a grown woman.

I followed the sounds and it led me to the living room where Deon's mom was holding a baby. It was a red little thing, it must've been new.

"Oh hello sweetie," Deon's mom turned around and greeted me.

"Hi," I said, "who's that?" I asked, pointing towards the baby.

"This is Deon's little sister, Diana. Would you like to hold her?" She held the baby out in her arms.

"Yes!" I answered excitedly, I've always been in love with babies. "Let me get this water to the guys and wash my hands, I'll be right back," I said and she nodded.

I think I broke world records getting outside, throwing the water bottles on the ground, bursting one. Luckily, there were five.

I ran back into the house and sang one of my favorite songs while I washed my hands, I wanted to make sure I didn't get a speck of dirt on the cute little baby.

I walked back to their living room and sat down next to Deon's mom and held Diana firmly.

Her skin was so soft and her cheeks so plump, I could just kiss them all day, but I didn't because you don't just kiss other people's babies.

That's how I was with El, I loved to hold her, kiss her, play with her, and feed her. I didn't like to change her because dear god, when a baby poops, that baby poops, but other than I liked every aspect of having a baby.

I didn't like El falling asleep a lot though, but it was alright because I got to watch her sleep, she looked so cute when she was sleeping.

"She likes you," Deon's mom told me.

"She does?" I asked, still smiling down at Diana.

"She doesn't like for many people to hold her, she cries with Deon." She told me.

"She's so precious," I put my finger in front of her tiny hand and she grabbed it.

"You should hear her cry," Deon's mom laughed. I heard the noise of the boys coming back inside and into the living room.

"Who won the game?" I asked as they all took a seat on the sofa.

"King and Jaylen," Deon murmured with an eye-roll.

"You came in to hold Dia?" J asked, seeing me wiggle my finger in her hand.

"Yea, she's so cute. The air conditioning is a plus too." I joked.

"We'll be heading down to the river soon, you can stay with Dia if you want," King said.

"And miss out on someone possibly falling in? No way." I said, but internally sighed when I remembered that I'd have to leave Dia.

"We won't even go near it, we'll just be watching it," Deon said and glanced over at his mom. Oh, that meant we were totally going in the river and trying not to wet our clothes.

"Mhm, you better not." Deon's mom said.

We sat inside and watched T.V. while the boys cooled down and I played with Dia. I mean, I even love her breath, it's an obsession at this point!

Anyway, after a while, it was 12, meaning there were only around 8 more hours of sunlight left and we'd need sunlight if we were going to pass off as having not gotten in the river, so it was time for us to go.

Luckily, Dia was asleep and had been for a while, so I knew at the moment I wasn't missing anything.

We walked up the street, around the corner, and down another street and behind a house. How the world Deon ever found out about this, I'll never know, but I didn't care because the sun was blazing hot on my skin and water sounded like heaven at the moment, even if that meant I was going to have to wash my hair again for the 3rd time this week.
