Wiggle

So that day, I did what I promised myself, I had a day off.

I took a long, steamy bath. Went about in my room with a pretty purple silk robe on, and took a 3-hour long nap.

Sleep debt just ain't it.

And by the end of the day, I felt better than I ever had.

The next morning, I got up and wore a plain white shirt and a dark blue skirt with it, I put on a pair of air force ones to match.

This week, I was going to wear a simple ponytail to the side of the back of my head. I found a silver headband that looked like a sedimentary rock and wore it.

Overall, I think I looked pretty cute.

Jessie fetched me for breakfast like always and I walked down to the dining room. Usually, it being a Monday morning would bother me, but today, I felt happy and refreshed. Oh! And still angry at King.

To my surprise, King was already downstairs and everyone was waiting on me. We had our usual morning greetings and ate in silence as always.

King seemed to not even remember ghosting me yesterday… how cute.

Perhaps I should remind him.

"How was yesterday, King?" I asked with the sweetest smile I could force out.

"What?" He froze in place and faced me.

"Jessie told me there was something urgent to attend to in town. I hope you had some fun, we're kids, you know?" I furrowed my brows and then unfurrowed them.

"Yea, it was good," King answered, barely muttering. Uh-oh! Seems like someones feeling guilty! And for whatever reason, that only made me want to force what happened out of him more. We all have our secrets but this one isn't alright.

"So, what'd you do? It must've been really important for you to ditch me without so much as leaving a text." I questioned him, I could visibly see him start to slightly shake. Hit a sore spot?

"King?" Miria said, looking furious at him.

"I went to town to get you a bunch of pastries because I know how much you like sweets. It took all day, I never meant to ditch you." King said and his shaking stopped.

Okay, obviously he's lying. Why was he shaking if the only thing he did was get me some pastries?

"Then why didn't you text me?" I tilted my head slightly.

"Horrible reception," King muttered then put his hand to his mouth as if to stop saying more.

"Well, I'm sure the girls and guys'll love some too. Let's bring some to school." I smiled, then went back down to my breakfast.

I saw King nod out of the corner of my eye.

He was lucky enough to wiggle his way out of this one, next month, he won't be so lucky.

True to his word, he did let me bring 3 boxes of sugar cookies to school, the kind with frosting on top. One box was shaped like a duck, filled with duck cookies, the other shaped like a butterfly, filled with butterfly cookies, and the last shaped like a car, filled with car-shaped cookies.

"What are those?" Nia asked me once I arrived at school.

"Sugar cookies King got for me yesterday," I said, the girls looked at each other, then back to me.

"Come over here, we want to tell you something." Olli pulled me over to the corner and away from my cookies.

My cookies...

"What is it?" I asked once we were all huddled up and blocked off from the world.

"I don't think those were really meant for you," Kayla told me.

"King used to really like one of his contestants named Kelly, she wasn't the worst person ever, but she got eliminated," Olli informed me.

"King was devastated, but still wanted to see her, so every month, on the last weekend of the month, he goes to be with her Sunday." Nia joined in. Oh, that's right. It's May 1st now, my birthday is only 9 days away.

"He might've gotten those for her, but then remembered she didn't like sugary stuff all that much and brought it back to you." Okay, that hurt. Knowing that he probably was going to give this to Kelly instead of me. Still gonna eat it though.

"Oh," I sounded generally disappointed, and I was. Now I know for sure he ditched me to be with Kelly.

"I know its sad, but it's still some good cookies so-,"

"No, it's not that," I mumbled.

"He kinda ditched me yesterday to go out with Kelly," I confessed. They all looked at me for a moment, then Kayla went storming off.

She came back, holding King's ear with him saying 'ow, ow, ow, ow, ow'.

"A-fucking-pologize." Kayla demanded.

"For what?!" King hissed, his ear still in the clutches of Kayla.

"Leaving her to be with Kelly!" Kayla said loudly, but not loudly enough to draw attention to us.

"Who?" King said and Kayla let his ear go.

"Cut the crap, we already told her," Nia said, her arms crossed, standing behind me.

"Chill, it's over with Kelly anyway. Sorry, Perk." He said, I felt everyone freeze at that exact moment.

"Wait, what?" Kayla asked, she looked so happy but I could tell she wasn't trying to let out.

"She got mad at me for letting you rip Lira's swimsuit and about me being so close to you, so she kinda ended it." I felt a burst of joy everyone around me except King let out.

"Good, I know you liked her King, but she was so disrespectful to grown-ups when they were alone," Kayla said.

"We already broke up, you don't have to keep lying to me, God," King rolled his eyes and went back over to the boys.

"She was what?"
