I Miss You, Dad

"Kwame, you're here." I relieved a sigh upon seeing his face but his face remains unmoved.

"Here's your food." He puts the tray before me and ignores Samuel.

"Kwame, have you ever considered me your sister?"

"You were but not anymore now." He was about to turn but I immediately held onto his arm and stop him. He looks back at me with a not so pleased expression. "Don't make it hard for me and yourself Miss Amber."

I see Samuel's hand extending towards Kwame's side pocket where a key was peeking. The room was small but it had a grilled window. If we could somehow stretch our hand outside through it and reach to open the door lock then we could probably escape.

"My real name is Sarah by the way," I say, turning my eyes back on Kwame and prevented him from looking away from me.

"It doesn't mean anything to me now. Boss comes first despite anything you have to say."
