The Unforeseen

It was another late night, seven in a row this month! But, at least our years of hard work, dedication and sleepless nights was coming to an end. I had already planned my holiday to Hawaii a week from now, along with coffee, this was the only thing keeping me awake! Today we finish all the tests, and our first group of man - made dinosaurs will start growing!! We were going to change the world - after tonight the word 'extinction' was going to be out of the dictionary. I felt so excited, joyous and proud of myself for this major milestone in my career!

There was just one hour left - I really to feel that I was dreaming, luckily I had so much work I wasn't allowed to dream! I went over to Jack, to cross check everything was running. Our company, Redo, was minutes away from making it possible to create dinosaurs. Surprisingly, I was told I could leave early, so I left and began thinking about a good night's sleep and waking up at 12 tomorrow!!

Beep!Beep! Ugh, who could it be at this hour, who would hate me so much as to call me at 3 in the morning! I put on my glasses, and strolled across the room to get my phone. There was a message from Jack.

It read: "Come quick, the dinosaurs have escaped! We need help!". As I read this I raced to my car, in pyjamas, and drove to the lab!

I reached there to find, 3 broken doors, and 4 of the bullet proof glasses broken. I knew instantly that this wasn't going to be easy. From the inside, I sort of felt happy that our mission was successful and my effort hadn't gone to waste, but how would I stop the dinosaurs from coming out and save my colleagues. Aha! I knew it! There was a button in the emergency room, which could kill the dinosaurs with a powerful chemical instantly! I jumped through one of the windows and as quiet as a mouse I made my way to the emergency room! On the way, I was very lucky not to have any dinosaur interactions. When I reached, I nervously pressed the button and in a second a thump on the floor gave me reassurance of everyone's safety!

As I was leaving, Jack told me that they have asked me to come back to the lab from next week. I began to think about my holiday again, wondering if it was ever coming true!!
