The Jumping Bean

The red front door of The Jumping Bean was propped open, welcoming the warm sunshine of early fall. Luke took a deep breath before walking in. He stood in the entryway and scanned the shop, which was pretty busy, until he spotted Jill at a table for two in the far corner. His stomach churned and the butterflies fluttered. Jill looked up from her chemistry book and waved excitedly. Her warm smile neutralized Luke’s nerves in an instant.

“Thanks so much again for helping me, Luke. I really appreciate it.” Luke approached, the small table was full of papers and notes.

“Yeah, for sure. Just hope I can help.” Luke pulled out a chair and sat. Jill’s look caught his attention. Her wavy hair was braided on both sides and pulled behind into a loose ponytail in the back. She wore a pair of clear rimmed glasses that kept stands of pink from falling into her eyes.
