“Ok, you’re all checked in. Please have a seat and a nurse will call you back shortly.” Luke and his mother took a seat in the waiting room of their family physician’s office.
“How is your head, hon?” Nancy asked.
“I told you, mom, I’m ok. Really, I must have just stood up too fast or something. It happens. I’m fine.” Luke turned and watched a pair of goldfish swimming in a colorful tank next to his chair, hoping to divert his mother’s attention.
“Lucas Pine.” A nurse appeared from behind closed doors. Luke and Nancy were led through the office and into an examination room. “The doctor will be with you shortly.” Luke and his mother waited in silence until a door slid open.
“Lucas, Nancy, good to see you again.” A large burly man in a white coat walked into the room and sat down at a small desk, pulling up Luke’s medical records on the computer screen.”
“Thank you so much for seeing us, doctor.” Nancy said.
