Chapter II

"Find what you love and let me kill you."

Charles Bukowski

As soon as we walked down the path to high school, I left Lisa with her group of cheerleaders, since hearing them honestly gave me a headache, when I walked down the hall I saw the number of teenagers around me, not that I wasn't a teenager, but I wasn't as stupid as the rest of them or maybe I was and I didn't realize, the point was that if I was a stupid or not, I knew how to hide it better than others. I hear the whispers at my sides as soon as I open my locker, at least this time, they didn't talk about me.

I go to my class without paying attention to gossip if I had to get an idea of the new students, it would not be because of exaggerations or unsubstantiated gossip, but because I had really dealt with them. Until now, the only thing that all the girls highlighted was how pretty they were, please ... no one could be so beautiful and if he existed well ... he would not be human. I frown at the idea that I didn't even know where it had come from, I deny that what happened to me happened to me because I didn't sleep well, I was already delirious, just great.

I'm heading to sit in my usual place, I was smart if ... maybe it wasn't a brain or something, but at least I knew some answers to what the teacher asked without having to check my notebook again, did that count? Right? I smile funny, well maybe not sleeping was affecting me more than I thought right now until I argued with my mind like a crazy bitch. I put my bag on the floor next to my chair and leaned back pulling out the book I had been reading in my spare time while I waited for the others to appear and the class began.

I was so into the story that I didn't notice when Lisa came up to me and lightly smacked my forehead.

-I really envy your way of ignoring the world when you enter your books -she says amused with a big smile on her lips, I shudder at her comment, if maybe I could also enter the characters I forgot about the real world. But in my defense, these were much more interesting than anything my peers could do.

"Well ... if Professor Griffin sees that I don't pay attention to him for a novel, he won't agree with you." I joke at the expense of our chemistry professor, he was one of those who didn't. We like to focus on more than just what they taught in their classes even though they haven't started with theirs yet.

Lisa rolls her eyes, she couldn't blame me after all, she was very good in this area of experiments, luckily before a sermon on the importance of paying attention in class started, her attention was divided on the handsome male specimens. at the door, because if ... they were beautiful, stupid and very beautiful if you liked his type, of course.

The whispers grew as they entered, so I was finally able to meet those who were keeping everyone's thoughts busy, well, now I understood why. It was that they were quite ... striking ... if you could tell, they both had a muscular but not exaggerated build, well enough to tell the truth. One of them had light brown curly hair that covered her ears to her neck, while the other had black hair cut perfectly to make her look messy in a way that fit her.

They only entered ignoring everything around them as if they owned the place and the others were just small annoyances they had to endure, these were not children ... but the men who used to be obeyed. A chill runs through me and I deny having taken my eyes off these, no matter how handsome they were, they were bossy idiots.

I thank heaven when the teacher begins class by having everyone pay attention to more than just the two new ones. As soon as we can leave, I grab my bag heading to the cafeteria to stand in line, I knew my best friend was doing the usual thing, helping new students with everything they needed, which meant getting as much information as possible from they would come to tell me.

Said and done, I heard Lisa's voice calling me, so I turned around to start talking, but suddenly I focused my gaze on two more people next to her, I turned my gaze to my best friend whom I wanted to hit on this moment when I noticed the satisfaction in his smile.

God ... Lisa, what have you done? I smiled a little nervously at strangers, Lisa knew it ... she knew that I was not good at talking to people, that she was my biggest failure when it came to making friends. I understood that she wanted to be good and supportive, but not at my expense, not like this! I took a deep breath to calm down, I could ... just say Hello! Skyler is not that difficult, I told myself, so have the courage to do it.

-It's ... a pleasure to meet you ... and-I ... I'm Skyler, Lisa has already talked a little about me or ... if she didn't ... well, now ...- I said awkwardly and nervous.

They just looked at me like they didn't know what to do with me until one of them, the one with the wavy hair, smiled kindly and started to speak.

"It's a pleasure Skyler ... we are so sorry we interrupted your meal seriously", he apologized like a gentleman, making my cheeks blush, I deny it calmly.

-Not! No problem ... if Lisa invited you, I would have no reason to object.

I invite you to sit down, pointing to the empty spaces around me, which you accept with a shake of the head.

"But what a fool! ..." he exclaimed suddenly "We have not introduced ourselves and you have done it ... how rude of us, our parents did not raise us like that ... Isn't that right Daniel?"

He spoke to the boy next to him, tapping him lightly on the arm, who grimaced at the comment.
